IFS and PATH to 12- Step Recovery Program with Nadine Lucas

November 2023: UPDATE from Nadine – Please note that I am no longer affiliated with the PATH Program. This podcast represents my personal journey from two years ago as I was trying to integrate my 30-year experience with overeaters anonymous and my understanding of Internal Family Systems. Currently I am focusing on providing IFS therapy and workshops related to eating disorders, addiction, and trauma. For more information, Please visit my website at https://compassionbasedhealing.com/   ------- Happy 2021! I thought it would be a good way to start the year by talking about IFS and the 12 steps as so. many. of. us. will make goals around changing behaviors we do not like (or PARTS of us do not like!). I'm super excited to chat with my guest Nadine Lucas, Level 2 IFS trained, who has converted the 12 step program into IFS language called PATH- Program for Addiction and Trauma Healing. We chat about her struggle with the God language in 12 Step programs and her pull to return again and again for the community and connection. Nadine has begun a very popular 12 step and IFS program that is just in the beginning stages. We talk a lot of OA (Overeaters Anonymous) and the Power of the Self (power seems to need a Capital letter here). The first half is her story and the 2nd half is about reframing the first three steps. The 2nd half is rich with IFS concepts like Self, firefighters, burdens, exiles, and healing. We talk about 'Are parts addicted?' Stay tuned for the Heirloom Summit link where you can receive a discount on your enrollment! Enjoy!
