I often find that when I make a post that upsets a lot of people, it reveals an area where we have room for improvement. EP#246: The 6 Stages of Changing Your Identity ft. Nick Ross

Today we welcome back my friend, Nick Ross, to the show. Nick is a killer when it comes to the mindset, headspace, and the idea of remaking yourself. Nick was recently on the show (episode and it was one of my most talked-about episodes to date. I love that you guys are into the deeper aspects of dieting and transformation because we get to talk about more than just calories and workouts—which is important—but outer work (nutrition, training) without inner work (identity, inner child, relationship with food), doesn't work.  Today we get into a lot about identity—which is one of the biggest things we work on with clients. Your identity is one of the biggest factors involved in self-sabotage. If you struggle with being on/off diets—you start off strong, but something always happens—and you wind up back where you started, there is probably an issue with identity, because your identity will not go down without a fight. So, one of the things I focus on is—instead of trying again, trying harder, and hoping it works out this time—why don’t we change our identity to be in line with our goals?  Nick has been working on a piece of content that he calls the 'Six Stages of Changing Your Identity'—how to go about changing your identity and shifting it from a tactical and tangible place. In today's episode, I interview someone I have wanted to interview for a very long time, Kyle Cease. I was actually a little nervous for this one! Kyle was pivotal in my life about 3-4 years ago when I discovered his content. He is a New York Times Best Selling Author who has written two books—the first one, I Hope I Screw This Up, and the second, The Illusion of Money. On this show and in my coaching we talk about the inner game a lot and it was Kyle's material that gave me the courage to start talking about that when I didn't know any other coaches doing it at the time. Kyle's story really resonated with me because he was a stand-up comedian. He got to the pinnacle of his stand-up career—his dream career—and it started to feel heavy to him, leading him into the world of transformation. Kyle was able to bring together the world of entertainment and transformation. Today we have another AMAZING guest—who is a very good friend of mine—Stephanie Fusnik. I had SO much fun recording this. Stephanie is someone who I would consider to be a menopause master and I wanted to get Steph on here because so much of our client base and most of my following is women.
