Ep. 56 :: Practicing Unconditional Self-Love {With Michelle Hannah}

Listening to each vulnerable share underscored the human condition in how WE get in our own way— through our internal dialogue, our habitual patterns, our self-aggressive thoughts, our limiting beliefs, and our fears. It is clear that upgrading our relationship to ourselves (our thoughts about ourselves, how we talk to ourselves, and how we unconditionally love ourselves) is where we can reclaim our greatest power. The way we narrate our lives shapes what our lives become.  When we turn this conversation to food and body, most of us know how complex this can get. What we do with food is what we do with life –– there is no separation.  In honor of valentines weekend and getting out of our own way, I have a very special episode of SATIATE for you. [PODCAST] Practicing Unconditional Self-Love ~ With Michelle Hannah Listen and Hear: *A truer (and impactful) definition of unconditional self-love *How to use the 4 B's (breakup; breakdown; breakthrough; breakout) on your self-love journey *What are the Self Vows and how to take them *How to make your self-care an expression of unconditional self-love Find out more about Michelle Hannah: https://www.michellerhannah.com/ Check out her two books: The Self Vows: Seven Vows That Will Change Your Life: https://www.amazon.com/Self-Vows-Seven-That-Change/dp/1532094469 The Breaking Point: A Full-Circle Journey: Living Life Beyond all the Broken Pieces: https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Point-Full-Circle-Journey-Living/dp/1469777053/ref=pd_bxgy_img_1/137-0275251-9091644?pd_rd_w=QBnnl&pf_rd_p=6b3eefea-7b16-43e9-bc45-2e332cbf99da&pf_rd_r=NGB5K92NAFGKPEMARWNM&pd_rd_r=e9fcbcba-72a4-48a7-bc80-d96fcd734c2b&pd_rd_wg=0vx0j&pd_rd_i=1469777053&psc=1 Learn more about Boulder Nutrition here: www.bouldernutrition.com/ Sue on Instagram: www.instagram.com/bouldernutrition/ Sue on Facebook: www.facebook.com/yoginibliss

Ep. 55 :: A Journey To Recovery {With Athina Crilley}

Making peace with your plate is not about guilt, restriction, body shaming, or attaching your personal value in the world to impossible food and body standards. Making peace with your plate is much more about learning to eat to feel how you want to feel, to being able to track into the intelligence of your body (including hunger and fullness), to find pleasure with food that makes you feel good, and loving and nourishing yourself with your eating. Peace begins with peace. Self compassion starts with small compassionate moments, thoughts, and gestures. Healing happens with love and kindness. What if we ring in the new year by appreciating our body and rejecting diet culture? If you are looking for some ways to take this even deeper, be sure to listen to this weeks podcast episode where my guest, Athina Crilley, shares what can happen when we give into diet culture (including her personal story and all the damage that ensued) rather than learning to eat to feel how we want to feel, be present with our feelings, and create capacity to hold it all. LISTEN AND HEAR: What years of eating disorder recovery, therapy and personal transformation taught Athina about herself, her eating, and her happiness The practices Athina used in healing her mindset –– her primary approach to healing her eating disorder What inspired her to write her book: Diary Of An Anorexic ~ A Recovery Journey How she uses her robust social media platform to promote healing our relationship to food and our bodies. Ep. 51 :: Kindness And Human Dignity First Part II {With Taylor Patrice}

After talking with my client, Taylor Patrice, I learned that the most needed items in the German Afghan refugee camps she is working in are underwear, feminine hygiene products and hijabs. That said, this issue does not lie merely in the fact that people need bloomers. While these items are not only significant to their comprehensive health, they also play a crucial role in the physical and sexual safety of refugees. Hijabs too? Yes hijabs too. This is where cultural understanding and nuance comes into play. If you want to learn more about women and children’s comprehensive health issues as they relate to displacement, and how we can help all the new neighbors we will be gaining stateside from Afghanistan before the end of the year, be sure to listen to today’s episode of SATIATE This is to remind us all that WE can make a difference in our world (big or small). Be sure to read on (and listen) for inspiration and hope: To donate the the Allies Refuge Mission visit https://www.alliesrefuge.org/monetary-support
