29 - Will Smith learnt violence from his childhood. What did you learn?
In this episode, we look at the recent drama of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars in defense of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, when Chris Rock disrespected her with a joke about her hair-less condition, alopecia.
Louise starts the episode by sharing that she felt like the missing piece of the jigsaw was when she read a section of Will Smith’s autobiography where he explained that he grew up in an abusive environment, watching his Father beat his Mother and that this developed his ‘biggest regret to date’ that he was a ‘coward’ and never ‘avenged his Mother’.
Louise & Dr Tari talk about:
⇢ How we often learn we are not enough, that we have to fight for love, earn it, or that we are going to be abandoned;
⇢ Family dynamics, sibling relationships and what you can learn if you are, or are not, the golden child of the family;
⇢ How stories can be picked up around hobbies and food; and
⇢ How picking up your attachment style from your caregivers will impact all of your relationships later in life.
Louise also goes deep and shares her personal experience of:
⇢ Her experience with high level ballet and gymnastics as a child;
⇢ How her relationship with food was defined from her relationship with her family; and
⇢ How her relationship with her family unit maybe developed becoming an introvert later in life.

27 - FRIENDSHIP - What friendship breakdowns can teach us + Louise’s personal experiences
Louise and Tari discuss why they happen, why they hurt, why they’re inevitable, how to handle them when they change or break down, how to learn from them and, ultimately, how to grow and be happier after them.
Louise Rumball also goes deeper into three of her own personal friend breakdowns:
⇢ 1. Her childhood best friend & how she dreamt about her for years & what this meant;
⇢ 2. A good friend in her 20s who Louise bonded with over their equally disastrous and toxic relationships - and whose friendship then slowly broke down when they didn’t bond over that any more;
⇢ 3. Her most recent friendship breakdown - with someone who she loves and cares about but feels is incompatible with her at this point in her life.
Dr Tari and Louise also discuss:
⇢ How to self-reflect on your friendships using the Wedding Cake analogy;
⇢ How to broach a friendship that isn't feeling good;
⇢ How to communicate with yourself and others; and
⇢ How to lean into the changes of friendships to your benefit, rather than them hurting you.

23 - ATTACHMENT HUNGER + RED FLAGS - the psychology of why we ignore red flags + the Tinder Swindler in discussion
We get into the topic that everyone is talking about - the crazy Netflix documentary - The Tinder Swindler, The so-called Tinder Swindler is Shimon Hayut (aka 'Simon Leviev'), a convicted fraudster born in Israel. He used dating apps to meet multiple women, then got them to take out loans and credit in their names, ultimately leaving them holding the bills when he would later disappear - but not before he had spent ALL of the money on an insanely lavish lifestyle that he used to impress OTHER women.
In today’s episode, Louise & Dr Tari break down:
⇢ The psychology of Attachment Hunger - something that starts in childhood when we don’t get the appropriate bonding and nurturing form our parent figures, and then later shows up in adult life as attaching too quickly to romantic partners;
⇢ The reason that so many people today ignore red flags;
⇢ Why sexual validation and attention are not the same as healthy loving care;
⇢ The importance of knowing ourselves before we can really know another; and
⇢ Why some people only attract superficial relationships.
Louise Rumball & Dr Tari Mack also break down the specifics of the situation and look at;
⇢ Immediate red flags that should have been picked up on in the episode;
⇢ How to navigate dating apps when meeting someone new (+ the questions you have to ask);
⇢ How to actually get to know someone;
⇢ How to keep an eye out for someone like the Tinder Swindler so you can avoid at all costs; and
⇢ The importance of boundaries and time to attach when you meet someone new.

22 - GHOSTING - Why do people ghost & how to stop ghosting if you do it
Today, in Episode 22, Dr Tari Mack is back from holiday & we are looking at the flip side of getting ghosted.
We ask Dr Tari:
⇢ Why do people ghost?
⇢ How this can tie back to more significant personality traits, like narcissism and sociopathy;
⇢ But how it can also tie back to our experience in childhood and what we were taught by our caregivers about conflict; and
⇢ What ghosting teaches us about another person.
Louise also shares her personal experience of how she used to ghost people when she was younger, but also shares:
⇢ How she now understands why she used to act the way she did;
⇢ How her behaviour has changed since going to therapy; and
⇢ Her tips and tricks on how not to ghost people.
We also share live examples of messages that Louise has sent to people when she has needed to communicate that she wasn’t into things, rather than ghosting, and get Dr Tari’s feedback.
