Ep 160 Doing the Hard Thing

In this solo episode, we’re examining a situation we receive questions about frequently relating to moving on after the end of a 15+ year partnership. We so often hear that women have been unhappy in their (hetero) relationship for some time, then the relationship ends, and then the woman feels stuck and unsure about what comes next and how to move forward. A patriarchal society normalizes the discontentment of life within women and sets an expectation that “this is just life,” birthing the mother wound and passing down the belief that life is suffering. But what happens if you reject that message, and instead choose to live fully?Oftentimes, the story we tell ourselves of the suffering to come is much bigger than the suffering we actually endure. In order to begin, you must surrender and accept this new phase of life you’re in and get to know this new Self. Recognize that you may be sitting in a space of what you thought your life “should” look like in feeling that being alone is “wrong,” and try shifting your perspective to a new approach as you take that first unsettling step into the unknown.  And, if you love the conversations we’re bringing you as much as we do, please rate and write a review of the podcast so we can get the podcast out to even more people! If you want to connect with us personally and deepen your work, we just launched our private online Cheaper Than Therapy Community. Ep 157 Is Co-Regulation in a Relationship Codependency

In this solo episode, we’re discussing a common theme we see around whether or not healing and co-regulating ourselves within relationships is the same as being codependent. We’re talking about:Codependency, at its core, being being the belief that we ‘need’ one specific person outside of ourselves to regulate our internal world Recognizing that society has conditioned us to equate attachment with love, and that without a certain amount of differentiation, we can fall into the trap of seeing the person in front of us as a means to an end - instead of loving them for who they areHow we find and provide a healing and safe space within a relationship, without taking on roles that start to become overly enmeshedAnd so much more! If you love the conversations we’re bringing you as much as we do, please subscribe, rate and write a review so we can get the podcast out to even more people! If you want to connect with us personally and deepen your work, we just launched our private online Cheaper Than Therapy Community. He has been featured on TED.com, founded an INC500 company, keynotes for the Fortune 500, and serves as a personal coach to “second mountain” entrepreneurs. Andrew is on a mission to support others in understanding how we create meaningful connections in an authentic way. We sat down to talk with Andrew about How to shift our focus from the external to the internal to access our truth, and how to share the most authentic version of ourselves in meaningful relationships. We explore how seeing this allows others to liberate their own truest selves as wellDistinguishing between liking vs loving ourselves - acknowledging that we need to know ourselves to love ourselves, and that we are dependent on how our eyes and brain interact with our external worldHow to break free from getting engulfed in the limiting belief patterns that cause us to create stories in our headAnd so much more! We know you’re going to be as inspired by this conversation with Andrew as we were. Ep 155 Q&A Session: Seeking fulfillment within

In today’s episode, we’re answering a string of questions submitted by a listener that revolve around codependency within relationships and how to start the process of leaning more into interdependence. We’re exploring::The societal pressure on women, especially, to focus our energy on finding and keeping a partner, rather than being encouraged to go inward and discover our own interests and what brings us joy.How the greatest act of rebellion a woman can participate in is the act of living authentically and loving her life. The importance of asking yourself what you can do to create happiness within yourself, rather than searching for an external sense of fulfillmentAnd so much more!If you love the conversations we’re bringing you as much as we do, please subscribe, rate and write a review so we can get the podcast out to even more people! If you want to connect with us personally and deepen your work, we just launched our private online Cheaper Than Therapy Community. In today’s episode we’re discussing the question, “What can lead someone to say to you that you are too good for them? Trauma, lack of self worth, etc.?”We’re getting into:The question of, “Wouldn’t they want to rise to the occasion if they really wanted to be in relationship with you?” and the possibility that somebody would use this as a way to lessen the hurt of not wanting to be togetherSomebody in a state of active substance abuse may use this phrase as a way to continue hiding behind their addiction How men, especially, may be confronted with their own Mother Wound when faced with rejecting a woman and being presented with her emotionality, and may use this phrase as a way to avoid being honest with themselvesBeing needed vs being wanted, and how a hyper-independent/avoidant person may subconsciously avoid deeper connections because they’re chasing the feeling of being wantedThat consciousness is the key to decision making, and there’s no shame in making the easy choice in the moment with that awareness, and learning how to move forward as you learn your SelfIf you have a question or topic you’d like us to address, we would love to hear from you for our new Q+A series!
