Ep 11 | Flow and feeling low
"Really praying to God to take the pain away, take the anxiety away. I was experiencing a lot of thoughts of death and real fear of 'what is the point' and how can I go on. I wanted to quit my business and run away." Welcome to episode 11. In this episode, I discuss the importance of finding balance between the highs and lows of life, between being always on or always off. As someone who's lived in the extremes, I've struggled to find serenity in balance and normality. Although I'm not religious, I found myself praying to God to take the pain away. Massive highs and lows can be experienced at any time; and I share my story in the hope it helps someone else feel comforted knowing they're not alone. Tune in to learn why I recently hit one of my biggest lows and how the impact of running a business combined with my personal life contributed to my state of feeling low and the process in which I follow to feel positive. To be in flow is to be in a high vibrational energy. My vision for this podcast is that it becomes a collaborative effort, that we all go on this journey together and raise our vibration into the highest, most sustained flow we can. Ep 10 | Self-love and flow
"I was thinking, what do these people have in common? The only thing they all have in common is me. And I realised that my self-worth must be so unbelievably low, my self-love must be so unbelievably low, if I am willing to accept this level of treatment in my life. But it was a real wake-up call for me on how low my self-love was." In episode 10, I share the importance of self-love. The first secret to flow is to truly love yourself. Without internal love for ourselves, we're unable to attract and manifest our highest desires. I've had deep issues with my own self-love - I used to feel this almost hatred for myself, for the way that I looked and the way that I was. Discover how I overcame these limitations with my own personal stories with self-love and self-worth. Using the five affirmations shared within the episode, which ones stand most true to and your journey? To be in flow is to be in a high vibrational energy. My vision for this podcast is that it becomes a collaborative effort, that we all go on this journey together and raise our vibration into the highest, most sustained flow we can. Ep 9 | Letting go of your ego, with Sun Yi
"And then we went into a 90 minute yoga class. And after that class I was just sitting there in shavasana and I just started balling out crying. Because my ego had been completely shattered and I had no ability to bullsh*t myself, what ended up coming to me was that all my employees actually do want to help. It's almost like I won't let them. My ego wants to make sure they know that this place can't run without me. That I can't give up that control and let them make mistakes - "Ah no, you didn't do it right, I'll just do it myself." All of that was coming from my ego." In episode 9 of My Flow podcast, I'm joined by Sun Yi, entrepreneur, storyteller, TEDx Speaker and Founder of Night Owls, an award-winning digital agency aswell as the Founder of Night Owl Nation, a community led education platform designed to help creators tell better stories. Sun's advice for thinking creatively and brainstorming new ideas on social media is to simply; "think different." In this episode, I go into the depths with Sun of what it takes to let go of your ego, trusting your team and being in flow in both business and personal areas of life. Sun is so incredibly open, he is really an example for how vulnerabiltiy leads the way with building an audience and living in flow. For all things Night Owl Nation, follow Sun Yi here. Ep 8 | Finding the courage to flow
"That's when I started to really uncover the lack of self-worth that I had. The lack of self-love. Some of the behaviours and habits which I was doing. The fact I was really in my masculine, controlling energy, was attracting men who were in their more chaotic, feminine energy. So we were just completely out of balance. But that came from me taking responsibility from the fact that those relationships weren't working. By making it my fault, I was enabled to move through that." It's episode 8 and I'll be talking about all things courage. Courage is the pillar that kickstarts our flow journey. Courage is admitting to yourself that an area in your life isn't working for you. Why do we need courage to flow? How out of alignment you are, will dicatate how difficult your flow experience will be. Denial, surpression, fear and anxiety are all emotions we feel from societal challenges. Join me as I share life experiences in different areas of my life where I've had to activate the courage principle. My vision for this podcast is that it becomes a collaborative effort, that we all go on this journey together and raise our vibration into the highest, most sustained flow we can. Ep 7 | Letting go to Flow
"Surrender is not about giving up. But it is about quitting. Quitting can be one of the best things you can do for yourself. There's a great quote from American actor and comedian call Bobcat Goldthwait who says; "quit everything until you find something that you simply cannot quit." When I came across that sentence, it gave me a huge sense of peace, because I am a quitter and proud of it. But we get so caught up in our lives and we're so busy trying to distract ourselves. But sometimes we don't even realise the things that we're doing could be harming us." Welcome to episode 7 of my flow podcast. In this episode, I go into the depths of pillar 12: surrender - my personal starting point for my flow journey. Surrender is the concept for letting go, letting our ego understand that we're not always in control and by doing so, allows us to find inner peace. Storytelling is the best way to explain a concept. Across the episode, I share several stories where I've deeply surrendered and accepting when I need to. The more you start to use this concept of surrender, the faster you're able to make change without needing to get all the way to the breakdown. My vision for this podcast is that it becomes a collaborative effort, that we all go on this journey together and raise our vibration into the highest, most sustained flow we can. Ep 6 | Flowing on Instagram with Juan Galán
"Due to my success, I ended up splitting up with my partner. I felt like I touched rock bottom. So I started to realise that I needed to do a lot of inner work. There was a disconnect between that and the person who I really was. That situation made me start journaling and meditating. Honestly, I'm so thankful that all of those things happened because I wouldn't be the person I am right now." This week I'm joined by Founder of IG Creator Academy and Social Media Strategist; Juan Galán. With an academy of over 850 students and 120k followers on Instagram, he creates strategies for brands and businesses; building a 6-figure online business through coaching, courses, memberships, and brand sponsorships.
