#74- Understanding our Emotions and Releasing Trapped Ones (with Skylar Sustin)
Happy first week of November (the best month of the year)! This week on The Revolutionized Mind, we are joined by Emotion and Trauma Release Coach, Skylar Sustin. In this episode, we talk all about emotions, including the mindsets behind them, what trapped emotions are and how they affect us, and also learning how to become more aware of the reasons behind what we’re feeling. Skylar gives a lot of practical advice about incorporating intentionality and self-reflection when trying to understand our emotions. She also takes a trauma-informed approach when working with her clients. As someone who has always struggled with my emotions, this conversation was super relatable and informative. #73- How Bullying Impacted my Mental Health (with Tyler Dulong)
Happy Friday! This week's episode is very eye-opening and unique. Our guest, Tyler, shares his experience with bullying, how that affected his mental health, and how he got to the place he's at today. Throughout his early school years, Tyler was getting bullied nearly every day which led to him having extreme anxiety about going to school. This anxiety also turned into a depression where he was feeling 'fed up' with everything that was happening to/around him. He ended up getting homeschooled in Grade 12, which actually improved his academic performance, as well as his mental health. After college, he found himself a part of a new social group that allowed him to express himself in a way that he was never able to before. Tyler's story is incredibly vulnerable, raw, and inspiring. Trigger warning: this episode talks about bullying, suicide, and violence. #72- I'm Back in Therapy!
Happy Friday friends! Thank you for joining me on this solo episode. It's been a while since we've had the chance to catch up! Following my mini therapy series that I've been posting about this week on Instagram, I thought it would be impactful to expand on my own personal journey. In this episode, I explain some of my past history with therapy, why I decided to get back into it, and how I navigated the whole process. I also share some personal struggles that I've been dealing with lately related to this platform, and hopefully offer some positive insight/advice for anyone who may be feeling similar things. I'm hoping that this episode will complement everything that I've been posting about therapy and make you feel less alone in whatever it is that you're currently going through. If you like this episode, let me know your thoughts and what else you want me to talk about! As well, don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe to the show on whatever platform you're listening on. #71- Good Deeds (with Amber Yakutchik)
This week, I am really excited to have the founder and CEO of a new social platform Good Deeds, Amber Yakutchik on The Revolutionized Mind. Good Deeds is a service that allows you to donate items or services, give back to your community, and earn credits along the way. Similar to platforms like Facebook Marketplace, it allows you to get rid of things you don’t need and rewards you with credits for helping the community. No money is exchanged on the platform and you get 500 credits simply for signing up. These credits can be used to spend, donate, or save, along with the ability to put up your own goods or services. Services meaning things like lash, nail, or stylist appointments, among others! This is a great way to promote small businesses as well. In this episode, Amber shares who she is, how she came up with the idea, and some of the goals that she has for the platform. I genuinely think that this idea is extremely innovative, creative, and progressive so definitely be sure to check them out. #69- Athletes to Athletes (with Reid Meyer)
Happy Friday everyone! Today, we are joined by former college baseball player, Reid Meyer. Reid is the Co-Founder of Athletes to Athletes, a college counseling service that provides customized plans for student-athletes going through the recruiting process. Like many others, Reid had a narrow-minded approach to selecting a college program. He was solely focused on his sport, and thus ignored the rest of what the college experience should entail. In this episode, Reid shares his personal journey, what he's learned along the way, and how he turned all of this into a successful service for student-athletes and their families to better understand and navigate the system. He tells us all about Athletes to Athletes and what they offer, we break down some misperceptions about college athletics and we highlight some important questions that you should be asking yourself before committing to a program.
