Writing a Value Proposition
- Start with a fill-in-the-blank template: "For [target user] who [user needs], [concept name] [benefit]."
- Ask clarifying questions like, "How does this create value?" and "What makes this unique?"
Effective vs. Weak Value Props
- An effective value proposition is specific about the target user and their needs.
- It also clearly states the unique benefit of the offering compared to competitors.
Card Sort Example
- A client with a new food technology used card sorting to refine their value proposition.
- Participants compared two benefit cards at a time, ultimately revealing unexpected key benefits.
