What Is This Secret Strategy to Drive Traffic and Increase Visibility?
Today, I'm excited to share with you an insightful conversation I had with Joyce Layman, a seasoned business coach. The interview is so rich in content I've decided to split it into two parts. The Power of GIFs in Exposure and Traffic Our conversation took an interesting turn when Joyce introduced the concept of using GIFs to increase visibility, discoverability, and traffic. For those unfamiliar, GIFs are short, looping animations that can be created on platforms like Giphy, which boasts over 700 million users. Joyce shared her own success story with GIFs, explaining how each one she creates includes a link back to her website. This strategy has led to increased website traffic and even direct outreach from people who discovered her through her GIFs. A Word About MiloTreeCart for Black Friday Selling Before we wrap up, I'd like to mention MiloTreeCart, the platform we built to help bloggers, online entrepreneurs, and coaches to sell digital products. With Black Friday and the holidays coming up, it's a great opportunity to make money. Sign up for MiloTreeCart with a one-time payment or three payment option. #300: Unlock Success: He Makes $10k/Month Selling Online Cooking Classes
In this episode of The Blogger Genius Podcast, I interview chef and food blogger, Adam Sobel, from the blog Cinnamon Snail. We discuss how Adam monetizes his blog mostly through selling online cooking classes and a successful cooking class membership program. Adam shares insights on video production, promotion, and using Facebook ads to drive traffic and sign-ups. He also talks about his journey from working in restaurants to launching his own food truck, and eventually offering online cooking classes. Adam emphasizes the importance of understanding customer lifetime value (LTV) and customer acquisition cost (CAC), and the benefits of a membership model for generating recurring revenue. He encourages authenticity and understanding your audience for success. The Benefits of a Membership Model Adam and I discussed the benefits of having a membership model for generating recurring revenue. Memberships create a sense of community and provide a reliable source of income. They also eliminate the need for additional marketing expenses. Starting a Class or Workshop: It's Easier Than You Think Adam suggests that starting a class or workshop can be done with relatively simple equipment, such as a DSLR camera. He shares his setup using multiple cameras but mentions that even a laptop or iPhone can do the job. Show Notes: MiloTreeCart Personality Quiz: What Digital Product Should I Create? Skyrocket Your Income: The Blogger's Guide to Cutting-Edge Email Marketing
In today's episode, I'm interviewing Kyle Stout, an email marketing expert. We had an interesting discussion about the challenges of selling digital products, the power of email marketing, and the importance of having a creative mindset. We address the misconception that email marketing is not a sexy or an effective sales channel. Contrary to this belief, we both agree that email is a highly converting channel and can contribute significantly to monthly sales. This is especially true for bloggers and businesses with a substantial email list but who are not actively selling anything. One of the main concerns people have about email marketing is the fear of annoying their subscribers or spamming their list. Kyle advises that having a creative mindset and providing valuable content can overcome these concerns. He suggested focusing on topics that resonate with your audience and connecting them with the products or services you sell. For instance, I shared an example of a food blogger who hesitated to promote her paid workshop to her email list, fearing she would be spamming them. Kyle emphasized that promoting valuable offers to the list is not spamming. Show Notes: MiloTreeCart Personality Quiz: What Digital Product Should I Create? Secret Truths About Selling – Part 4 (Why Your Customer Journey Is SO Important)
In today's episode of The Blogger Genius Podcast, I'm excited to share with you Part 4 in my series on selling on the importance of mapping out your customer journey as bloggers and online entrepreneurs. If you missed Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3, you can hear them here. Part 1 – Why Selling is So Uncomfortable? Part 2 – Insider Tips on 6 Best Ways to Sell Part 3 – Unlocking the Psychology of Selling Your customer journey is the way you build your know, like, and trust factor so people will come back to your blog, click on your posts, and ultimately buy your products and services. I provide recommendations for improving the customer journey, such as talking to customers, analyzing analytics, and practicing empathy. I talk about how every post on your blog needs to be a sales page with a clear call to action. I also highlight the importance of understanding how our content and products are perceived by those unfamiliar with our brand, emphasizing the need for clear communication. I conclude by emphasizing the long-term nature of building a customer journey and why this will set you up for success as you continue to compete with AI. I also emphasize the need for bloggers to sell products and services and introduce MiloTreeCart as a tool for non-techies to sell digital products easily. However, it's equally important to sell products and services. This not only diversifies our income streams but also adds value to our readers. Every page on our blog should be a sales page with a call to action, guiding visitors and providing value to them throughout their journey. Understanding the Customer Journey The customer journey is the sum of experiences a visitor goes through when interacting with our brand, blog, or product. It typically involves four stages: awareness, consideration, decision-making, and retention. Awareness: This is when potential customers first come across your blog or brand. Consideration: At this stage, they are evaluating your offerings and deciding whether they align with their needs. Decision-making: This is the point where they decide to purchase your product or service. Retention: This final stage involves keeping your customers engaged and loyal to your brand. Improving the Customer Journey Improving the customer journey involves understanding how our content and products are perceived by those who are unfamiliar with our brand. For instance, I once came across a food blogger who failed to communicate clearly to potential readers with autoimmune diseases by using unfamiliar terminology. This highlights the need for putting ourselves in the shoes of our audience to ensure that our message is clear and relatable. To improve the customer journey, I recommend: Talking to customers: Direct conversations can provide valuable insights into their experiences and needs. Analyzing analytics: This can help identify areas that need improvement. Practicing empathy: This involves understanding the customer's perspective and addressing their needs effectively. Tools for Selling Digital Products For those of us who are not tech-savvy, tools like MiloTreeCart can be a lifesaver. It allows us to sell digital products easily, making it a valuable asset in our blogging journey. The Long-Term Nature of Building a Customer Journey Building a customer journey is not a one-time task. It's a long-term process that requires continuous effort and optimization. Start small and focus on areas that will have the biggest impact. Remember, small changes can make a big difference. Natasha felt that as a blogger, she should have a digital product to sell. Despite her limited time, Natasha quickly created an ebook by compiling her blog recipes and styling it using Canva. She kept it simple, with sixteen recipes and notes, and priced it at $9. The Power of Niche and Community Natasha promoted her ebook to her Facebook group, which boasts over 22,000 members and is highly engaged due to its niche focus on gluten-free sourdough. She believes that the group's engagement has contributed to its rapid growth. They discussed the importance of finding a niche and how it has contributed to Natasha's success. She shared her initial hesitation about narrowing down her focus to gluten-free baking, but ultimately found that it simplified her life and allowed her to become an expert in a specific area. The Ebook Success Initially skeptical, Natasha was pleasantly surprised when people started buying the ebook. She also tried selling the ebook on her website, but most of the sales came from her Facebook group. Exploring Other Platforms Natasha reached out to Jillian for advice on other platforms to sell her ebook. She had heard about Gumroad but was concerned about the percentage they would take from her sales. After discovering that MiloTreeCart didn't take a cut from sales, Natasha became interested in our lifetime membership offer. Investing in Your Audience Jillian believes in the concept of karma on the internet, where putting out good content leads to receiving good things in return. She wants to help my audience grow their businesses because it brings her happiness and contributes to the growth of her own business. Natasha's Experience with MilotreeCart Natasha shares her positive experience with MilotreeCart. She appreciates the templates and resources they offer for free, which have helped her make back more than she initially invested. After the success of her ebook, she decided to expand her offerings and create workshops to provide more value to her audience. She put in effort to plan and deliver a high-quality workshop, and the results were impressive. Hosting her one-hour live workshop, she made over $400. The "B-minus Work" Concept Natasha was initially skeptical and nervous about setting up and delivering the workshop. However, she found comfort in my concept of "B-minus work," where it's okay to not strive for perfection but still deliver above-average content. This mindset relieved the pressure of having a perfect setup and allowed Natasha to use her phone and computer to create her workshops. Future Opportunities Natasha expresses her desire to host another workshop due to its success in terms of sales and positive feedback. She contemplates starting a membership program, inspired by another guest on the podcast who offered a membership for $18. The Importance of Experimentation Jillian emphasized the importance of experimentation and seeking feedback from her audience. She praised Natasha for her inspiring work and expressed her excitement at her progress and future goals. The Unexpected Success Natasha shares her excitement about the growth of her blog and her ability to invest in essential tools and courses. She mentions the unexpected success of digital products and her dreams of making a full-time income from blogging. Andrea shared her entrepreneurial journey, starting with her background in recruiting, hiring, and training new entrepreneurs. She noticed that many entrepreneurs faced challenges and self-doubt when they reached the "messy middle" stage of their businesses. Balancing Business Growth with Motherhood Andrea and I also touch on the challenges of balancing business growth with motherhood. I share my experience of feeling overwhelmed when my daughter was younger, and how I couldn't imagine being able to drop her off at a playdate and leave. However, I did find that my daughter became more independent over time. Andrea related to this struggle and mentioned a client who is currently dealing with sleepless nights due to her children. We agree on the importance of having grace and understanding during these challenging stages of life. The "Schedule-Plan-Do" Method Andrea introduces her method called "Schedule Plan DDo" and explains how she helps her clients delegate tasks and create processes to make their businesses more efficient. She emphasizes the importance of addressing the underlying issues, such as exhaustion, rather than just focusing on the overwhelming to-do list. Embracing Discomfort in Business Building We both agree that the reality of business building is often messy, uncomfortable, and challenging, contrary to the glamorous image portrayed on social media. We discuss the importance of embracing discomfort and pushing through it to achieve success. We normalize the feeling of unease as a sign that one is moving in the right direction. Confidence and Entrepreneurship Andrea discusses the concept of confidence and how it is not about always feeling prepared or determined. She explains that confidence is simply the willingness to feel every feeling, including frustration, anxiety, and stress. She emphasizes the importance of embracing ambiguity and uncertainty, as they are inherent in entrepreneurship. The Importance of Support and Positive Mindset Andrea highlights the significance of seeking support from coaches, mentors, and communities. She mentions a study by Harvard Business Review that found businesses that sought support were more likely to succeed. We agree that reframing negative thoughts and focusing on the positive can make a significant difference in one's mindset and overall success. Overcoming Self-Doubt and Pricing Challenges We discuss the importance of staying in the game and overcoming self-doubt in order to achieve success in business. Andrea mentions the antidotes to negative self-talk and catastrophizing, which include surrounding yourself with supportive people who can counter those thoughts. We also discuss the issue of pricing and how it is often tied to one's self-worth. Andrea suggests that the price you charge reflects the transformation you provide to your clients. Moving Beyond the Messy Middle We highlight the need to think big and move beyond the messy middle, where many entrepreneurs get stuck. Andrea believes in offering her clients a runway to find their extraordinary potential in their business and themselves. To find Andrea and learn more about her work, you can visit her website and listen to her podcast, "Time to Level Up." She also invites you to download the introduction and first chapter of her upcoming book for valuable insights. You can schedule a call with her through her website or reach out to her on Instagram. Why Hosting a Paid Workshop Is a Great Way to Make Extra Cash
HToday, I'm excited to share some insights on a topic that's been gaining traction lately - hosting paid workshops to make extra cash. I'll also share our tool that simplifies the process of selling digital products, including workshops called MiloTreeCart. So, let's dive in! Show Notes: MiloTreeCart Personality Quiz: What Digital Product Should I Create? MiloTree Pop-Up App Join My Blogger Genius Email List Catch My Party Become a Blogger Genius Facebook Group MiloTreeCart Affiliate Program All Blogger Genius Podcast Episodes Subscribe to the Blogger Genius Podcast: iTunes Stitcher YouTube Spotify Amazon Music Introducing MiloTreeCart: A Game-Changer for Non-Techies As a non-techie myself, I understand the challenges of selling digital products. That's why I'm thrilled to introduce MiloTreeCart, a tool designed specifically for us non-techies. Whether you're selling downloads, workshops, memberships, or mini-courses, MiloTreeCart simplifies the process. It offers features such as sales pages, checkout pages, a sales dashboard, upsells, and support. For a limited time, you can get a lifetime deal of MiloTreeCart for $349 or three easy installments. Plus, there's a 30-day money-back guarantee. And here's the cherry on top - if you purchase before the end of August, you'll get a bonus one-hour free coaching call with me! The Benefits of Hosting a Paid Workshop Hosting a paid workshop has numerous benefits. It's easy to set up, provides a concrete win for participants, allows for authenticity and connection with your audience, helps test ideas and build authority, and creates an asset that can be resold. When selecting a topic for your workshop, make sure it's specific, aligned with purchasing triggers (like making money, saving money, saving time, happiness, pain relief, or social status), and resonates with your audience. Essential Tech Tools for a Successful Workshop To host a successful workshop, you'll need three essential tech tools: Zoom for hosting, MiloTreeCart for payment processing, and an email service provider for communication with attendees. Don't shy away from promoting your workshop through various channels, including email, social media, and personal outreach. As for the structure of the workshop, I recommend a one-hour session with an introduction, 3 main teaching points, and 15 minutes at the end for questions. Pricing Your Workshop: A Balancing Act Pricing workshops can be tricky as it depends on the niche and requires trial and error. Experiment with different pricing strategies, such as offering early bird prices and using coupon codes or discounts. Always consider the value participants will receive from attending the workshop. For instance, if your workshop teaches people how to save money and they could potentially save $100, price the workshop at $40, allowing participants to net $60 in savings. Real-Life Success Stories Hosting a paid workshop has become simpler with tools like Zoom, MiloTreeCart, ChatGPT, and email services. Let me share some real-life examples of successful workshops. A wreath-making workshop generated $1,800, gluten-free sourdough bread workshops earned close to $500 each, and a social media workshop made $1,100 by optimizing Instagram bios. These examples are simple and achievable, encouraging you to let go of perfectionism and embrace "B-minus work" that is both above average and doable. A Limited-Time Offer You Can't Miss Currently, MiloTreeCart is being sold for a limited-time lifetime deal of $349, which has allowed workshop hosts to make additional money. I assure you that future features will be grandfathered in for those who purchase now, but the pricing model will eventually transition to a subscription-based model. So, grab this opportunity while it lasts! Hosting paid workshops is a fantastic way to connect with your audience, share your knowledge, and generate income. With the right tools and strategies, anyone can do it. So, why not give it a try?
