223: Post Vacation Weight Loss & The Real Reason You Lose Weight in Europe

I went on vacation for a month and gained ~10lbs. While this is a bit extreme (also because I was away for a month, which is long) it’s not an uncommon experience to gain weight while on vacation, letting loose and being off routine. But it’s not a problem, because we’ve got a simple and reliable method to get back to baseline very quickly. In this episode, I discuss my own current situation - what happened, what I’m doing about it now, and how to handle vacations regarding weight gain in the future. Just as well being summer now, many people are off to Europe and claim that they “eat everything and lose weight”. I also discuss the truth behind this notion, and how you can also easily emulate this at home. Vacations are to be enjoyed! And part of this is having a good strategy to get back on track when the vacation is over. 221: Summer Shred (Aggressive Fat Loss) Pt 3: Troubleshooting

In the number of times I’ve done an aggressive fat loss phase with myself or my clients, the things covered in this episode are always the most common that come up. It’s always best to be prepared for these things in case they come up. You may never face them, and that’s great, but if you do, you’ll have tools to easily come out on top and not derail your progress. Things like: it’s simply “not working”, too hungry, lack of time, injuries, social and family life, and life stressors. These are the big ones. Dal Sekhon (@nutritioncoachingbydal) is a nutrition coach, mother, and someone who has been on an impressive journey with her own health and fitness. Dal is down over 120lbs after years of dieting and trying so many different approaches. Now, she’s pulling from her experience and education to help others do the same. The coolest part is that Dal didn’t give up all the cultural foods and things she loves in order to lose a ton of weight. Of course there are adjustments, but you don’t have to eat boring, plain food to make it happen. Dal talks about her story and the different phases she went through. Including the emotional and psychological aspects of changing your identity and losing a significant amount of weight. 216: Tyson Robertson - Getting Out of Pain & Into a Lifelong Movement Practice

Tyson Robertson (@tyrextraining) is a personal trainer and anatomy instructor with Show Up Fitness. After going through his own struggles with injuries to eventually find proper solutions and develop a lifelong movement practice, Tyson decided to coach others who may be in a similar situation. Getting injured is no joke. But sometimes the pain of the injury is less than the seemingly endless rehab. Even worse when it feels like you’ll never be better, and start to lose hope. Tyson was there, and you might be as well. This podcast is discussing some ways that might help you finally get out of that pain. It’s not for a lack of trying, it’s mostly for a lack of poor information and guidance - which isn’t your fault. A twisted ankle doesn’t have to be a life sentence. Tyson and I discuss various ways to attack your rehab to get you out of pain for good. The next step is then developing a legitimate lifelong movement practice.
