HEALING 101: The many benefits of functional medicine with Deirdre Nazareth

On today's HEALING 101, we are joined by Deirdre, or as I like to call her, Dede Nazareth, a friend of mine and a functional osteopath. Functional and osteopathic medicine both seek to find the root cause of illness by asking 'why' and considering things that may seem unrelated, such as treating skin conditions by treating the gut or treating headaches by analysing joints in the upper back. This practice understands that the body has an inherent capacity to heal itself when given what it needs and aims to restore balance in order to achieve total health and wellbeing. I can't wait to talk to DeDe today, who will discuss how we can use the functional medicine approach to improve our mental health.Find Deirdre Nazareth: Website: https://thefunctionalosteopath.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thefunctionalosteopath/?hl=enFollow Hurt to Healing on Instagram:@hurttohealingpodA big thank you our wonderful charity partner Shout. Anne Robinson on her inspiring recovery from alcoholism

I am honoured to be joined by Anne Robinson, established television presenter and journalist known for her assertive views and her frosty presenting style on one of my all time favourite game shows, The Weakest Link. In the 1960s, Anne was the first young female trainee at the Daily Mail newspaper. She worked at The Sunday Times and The Daily Mirror and then went on to host programmes such as Watchdog to Channel Four's Countdown. However, in her mid-thirties Anne began to drum up a reputation for being a heavy drinker, which began to overshadow her work. And after a fierce custody battle with her ex-husband, she lost joint custody of her daughter, then aged just two. This was the turning point that led to her seeking help and in today's interview Anne opens up about her battle with addiction and what got her onto the road to recovery.
