Welcome to Episode 49 - Bipolar, Mental Health and Fatherhood with Jarrod Gentle
This week we're diving into what it's like to live with Bipolar from husband, father and mental health crusader Jarrod Gentle.
Jarrod has an inspiring story to tell, from misdiagnosis to finding mindfulness and meditation. It's a story of how we can shake off the shame and stigma associated with mental illness, and live a life full of purpose.
Not only does Jarrod's purpose see him placing huge focus on his wellbeing, family and business, but it also has him sharing his story - and the stories of others in the mental health industry - on his podcast Stay Mental Australia.

48. Burnout, Work and Family with Sophie Scott
Welcome to Episode 48 - Burnout, Work and Family with Sophie Scott
The literature around burnout tends to focus on burnout being a workplace issue. But as we know in life, what happens at work can impact us outside of work too.
This week I'm joined by Sophie Scott, an award winning journalist and broadcaster as the national medical reporter with the ABC.
Sophie is also an author, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame's Medical School, an ambassador for Bowel Cancer Australia, Pain Australia and sits on advisory committees at the National Mental Health Commission and the University of Melbourne’s Contemplative Studies Centre.
Sophie shares her burnout story, and how having open dialogue around mental health within the family home helped her along her recovery journey. Sophie also shares some great tips to improve our mental health as we work through conditions like burnout or stress more generally.

47. Patriarchy, Feminism and Relationships with Bev Joy Ehrlich
Welcome to Episode 47 - Patriarchy, Feminism and Relationships with Bev Joy Ehrlich
When we think of patriarchy and feminism within the context of men's issues, we often think of a clash of titans. These concepts place men and women against each other, and the discussions can often become heated.
But a critical reflection on these concepts can help us to understand where we've come from, and where we want to go from an individual, community and social level.
This week, I am joined by Bev Joy Ehrlich, a Transformational Life and Relationships Coach with a background in Psychology, Mental Health and Education.
Bev helps us to unpack patriarchy and feminism within our relationships, and describes how unity, communication and equality can help our relationships to thrive.
