I always seem to struggle with dead legs the power and heart rate is all good, but perceived effort is much higher. How should you attack the week after rest week shock to the system? ease back in slowly?

Interval Mindset Part 2 (?): Patience
Cat 4 Questions is back!
I think it would be really interesting to hear about your and other peoples mental approach for difficult workouts and races. For workouts: what is your optimal level of arousal / excitement? self talk or in-the moment mindful ness? what is your emotional perception of the sensations (pain and suffering? discomfort? associating exercise discomfort with positive things?) And I guess similar for races + how do you keep keep things under wrap until it is time to unleash hell?
