Cycling Endurance Podcast: Physiology 101, Cadence Work, PMC Chart, Surviving The Indoor Trainer

Owen reached out and wanted to chat about some endurance topics which are quite appropriate this time of year, as many athletes enter a base phase of training. What is base training? But more importantly, WHY should we ride at endurance? We look at how endurance training has landed us numerous P/1 state championships, and 6 Masters National Championships. We chat about whether cadence work is necessary, and why we do or don't prescribe it. Since I come from the northeast frozen tundra in Upstate NY, Owen had some questions as to what strategies I utilized before there were smart trainers and Zwift to occupy the time. Remember, there are no short cuts. Sweet spot is NOT an effective short cut for endurance training. Let us know what you thought of the video!
