TAS 112 : Amazon’s surprising move allowing sellers to contact product reviewers

This week we’re joined by Regina Peterburgsky from the Women on Amazon Podcast to discuss Amazon’s really surprising move that allows Brand Registered Sellers to contact Amazon’s customers who’ve left a 3 Star (or below) review. In some ways this is quite a controversial development as Amazon has, (up until now), been trigger happy to suspend sellers if they’ve tried to influence reviews on Amazon’s platform. This new ability to enter into dialogue with customers by offering full refunds, or asking for additional feedback is quite remarkable. Our recommendation is to tread very carefully! We also discuss our upcoming event, The Amazon Collective Retreat on weekend of the 6th, 7th and 8th of August this year. The conference will be held of-site in the beautiful Yarra Valley just outside of Melbourne. It’s strictly for 6, 7 and even 8 figure Amazon business owners based here in Australia and New Zealand – it’s not for newbies of beginners. For more info and to apply to join us, head over to the www.theaustralianseller.com/collective Don’t forget I am offering private coaching again this year so please head over to www.theaustralianseller.com/chris to book an hour session with me to make sure you’re heading in the right direction! TAS 106 – Amazon Australia, eBay, Catch & Kogan, post-pandemic with Phil Leahy, CEO Retail Global

In today’s episode please make welcome back to the show Phil Leahy – the CEO of Retail Global. Phil and I last chatted on the show back in 2019 about Australia’s Big 4 Marketplaces, eBay, Amazon, Catch and Kogan. We chat today about the effect that the pandemic had on ecommerce here in Australia both for marketplaces and pure-play ecommerce retailers like Lovehoney. Turns out that sex and booze did very well online in 2020… Of course we also talk about the ways in which retailers pivoted fast into ecommerce to stay alive, and the seemingly entrenched impact it’s had on the way Australian’s shop now… Finally we talk about the upcoming RG event on the 29-31st of March 2021 which I’ll be speaking at, holding the “How to grow your brand on Amazon Australia workshop” with Regina Peterburgsky (Women on Amazon) and Calli (private Label Australia). Later I’ll be on the “How to Grow and expand your amazon business by opening up on additional Amazon marketplaces” – Panel, as well as a solo session on “How to optimise your Amazon Listings for ranking and conversion success…” Throw in a couple of sessions for inside the injection Labs (feel free to book me)… It’s going to be a busy 3 days…!
