If you’re like me, your food budget (across groceries and eating out) is a major drain in your budget. To help us combat the rising cost of food and to reduce what we’re spending each month in our food category I’m talking with Gina Zakaria, who is better known as the Saving Whiz on the show this week. Gina was able to slash her grocery bill from $1,200 to $400 a month for a family of four and the savings in her food budget was the main driver in her journey to pay off over six-figures worth of debt in 5 years. Through her Saving Whiz platform and social network of over 3 million people, Gina teaches simple strategies that make it easy to save money. Her mission is to empower others to save in a way that doesn’t feel depriving. She’s been featured on Good Morning America, NBC Today, Forbes, Money, and others. Gina also runs her online community, Super Savers, where she coaches and guides members to save money the easy way, so they have more money for things they love. In this episode we dive into Gina’s personal story and debt payoff journey and she shares her best tips on how to find the best deals, how to prep and process your food, how to handle freezing food and leftovers, and we also get her thoughts on things like buying in bulk and the best way to compare deals across stores. She also shares the importance of mindset in her methods and how you can use these mindset tools to eat out less and spend less on takeout each month. This is an episode that will no doubt save your hundreds of dollars. This week I am sitting down with Cecelia Mandryk, a life coach who’s passion is helping people live better lives through self discipline and habit change, to break down the importance of your financial habits and how to establish them and stick with them (aka discipline) in a way that feels easy and is filled with compassion, self-love, and curiosity.   In this value-packed episode we talk about the role that habits play in achieving the financial results you desire, how we view habits and discipline in ways that actually end up hurting us more than helping us, how to approach the habit formation process with love and compassion vs shame and judgement, how to work WITH your brain and nervous system while working to form a new habit rather than relying on force and willpower, why getting started is the most important part and Cecelia’s best tips for forming a new habit that makes it seem easy and natural, and how to reignite an old habit that you once we’re super committed to but have fallen off the bandwagon. This in no doubt a conversation that will have you thinking about habits and discipline in an entirely new and improved way. Enjoy!   BIO:  Cecelia is Certified Life Coach and Yoga Therapist who works with women to take life from 'this is it?' to 'this is IT!' Using cognitive science, yogic wisdom, and self discipline. 98: The 7 types of spending that harm your finances

Spending is a skill, which means that it’s something that we can practice to get better at over time. It also means that we can be a good spender if we have mastered the skill of spending, or a not so good spender if we haven’t. The truth is that many of us don’t realize spending is a skill, so we never try to get better at it over time and we engage in spending that is impulsive, we spend money we don’t have, we try to buy things with our money that cannot be bought, and we spend money in a way that harms our future financial well-being. These are the types of spending that harm our finances and take us farther away from the financial future we have a desire to build.  In this week’s episode of The Money Love Podcast we’re breaking down the 7 types of spending that harm your finances. We walk through each one in detail, what it looks like, why you might be doing it, and how bringing awareness to this type of spending is the best first step which this episode will help you do.    Sign up for a 90-minute Intensive with Paige Join Overcoming Overspending HERE Explore Private Coaching with Paige   Where you can find Paige online: Website: https://www.paigepritchard.com   IG: @overcoming_overspending TikTok: @overcoming_overspending  Subscribe to the YouTube Channel

95: Your Brain Is A Bully

We all have an inner mean girl inside of us that is keeping us small, stuck, and broke. Your inner mean girl is a bully because she tricks you into thinking that staying where you are is the safest bet. She tells you that your future potential is dictated by your past results and experiences. She lies to you and tells you what she knows you need to hear in order to act against your own financial well-being. She keeps you engaging in behaviors and habits that feel good in the moment but aren't beneficial for you long-term. Your brain is a bully, and it's time that we all confront our inner mean girl and bring her out into the light so she stops having so much power over us. In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast, we are diving into your inner bully (aka your primitive brain) and how she is keeping you from reaching your full financial potential.  By the end of this value-packed episode, you will know the main job of your brain and the 3 things it's always focused on to accomplish this job, the characteristics of your brain that are keeping you small, stuck, and broke, the types of distorted thinking that we do that holds us back from reaching our full financial potential and the one realization about my own “inner mean girl” that allowed me to silence her and stop giving her power over my daily life. This knowledge has been an absolute game-changer for my daily life and I'm excited to share it with you this week. Enjoy!
