My Thoughts Monday #131- The Value of a Presentation is The Questions It It Makes You Ask

“If we all had it figured out we would all be doing the same thing.”“Can you take something from someone, and make it make you think and reevaluate, and breakdown what you are doing?”This My Thoughts Monday is brought to you by Vald Performance, the team behind the NordBord, ForceDecks, the GroinBar and HumanTrak. All to often we see people discussing presentations on social media and referring to these “great” presentation because they provide confirmation bias. I understand where that may fit, and why we would enjoy those talks, but what we hope the presentations at CVASPS do is make people ask questions about what they’re doing. That to me, is what makes a great presentation, and I share some examples of those that I’ve seen recently that did just that.We are hoping to provide the best possible content for strength coaches with each of our shows. If feel this could provide value for anyone else in the strength and conditioning field please feel free to share.ENJOY THE CONTENT? “Sometimes you need to slow down and go back and kind of reground yourself and say, ‘What is the most important thing we are doing? My Thoughts Monday #130- Lessons From Grey Beard, Don’t Be A Jerk

“In today’s day and age I don’t feel like you can be respected by kids if they don’t like you”“If you’re going to be a jerk to people you better be exemplary, like out of this world at what you do, period, because people aren’t going to put up with it.”“That’s the most overlooked thing in all of sports. Find you a crew that really wants to work for each other, and really likes each other, and really loves each other, and is willing to do whatever it takes even if that means stepping aside and doing less, or not arguing with someone over something because it’s really not what is most important at the present moment.”This My Thoughts Monday is brought to you by Vald Performance, the team behind the NordBord, ForceDecks, the GroinBar and HumanTrak. My Thoughts Monday #129- Chris Hays- You are EXACTLY Where YOU Need To Be

“If we all were to start at our dream job, our maximum potential to fulfill that job, those roles and responsibilities, wouldn’t be as as high as it could. “You gotta be willing to value their opinion, you’ve gotta be willing to value what they tell you matters and what doesn’t because when you value them and everyone values each other then a lot of really good things happen and it makes things really roll easy.”“That’s the most overlooked thing in all of sports. We are really lucky to have a group that truly likes to be around each other, and work with each other. There have been a few things that if the group I am lucky to be part of didn’t get along so well we wouldn’t have been doing, including many of these “routines” that we have developed. It has also has required me to shift my view of how some situations are handled, and made me take a step back and look at things differently has made the entire situation better for, not just me, but everyone else involved. We are hoping to provide the best possible content for strength coaches with each of our shows.
