Episode 161: Marketing in 2023: A Roundtable Discussion (featuring Vanessa Kynes, Becca Campbell, and Dr. Tiffany Eurich)

"Everyone is trying to make a living and so they over-exaggerate the power of what they do. Not everything can be a magic bullet that makes you an overnight 7-figure business. Marketing is more like investing. If you put all of your eggs in one basket and there is problem (privacy laws, algorithm shift, etc) you're going to slow your exposure. But when you spread your content across channels, if things slow down in one area, the other areas can hold them up." - Dr Tiffany Eurich If you are doing something the same way you were doing it five or six years ago, chances are there's a better way to be doing it now." - Dr Tiffany Eurich Find it quickly: 0:00 - Intros 6:49 - Becca's marketing strategy (content) 8:10 - How to come up with topics for content 10:01 - Choosing your channels 12:00 - Turning a podcast into a blog post 13:05 - How PR fits into content strategy 16:32 - How to splinter content 18:32 - How long does it take to see traction. Episode 160: Quick Website Fixes to Uplevel Your Website

So earlier this summer, we started offering Designers Touch Sessions. If you've ever seen a woman walk over to her husband and adjust his tie a little bit so it sits a little bit straighter or watched the maid of honor fluff a bride’s dress just before she walks down the aisle so it lays perfectly while she walks, that's what these sessions are designed to do. Basically, these are 90 minute sessions where our team jumps into a website and gets it to the next level. As our team was working on these site cleanups, we noticed a few common design "mistakes" on many of the sites. We use mistakes in quotes because while these elements aren't necessarily awful, they could inadvertently make it more difficult for visitors to buy/book/decide to work with you. So just what are these mistakes and how can you fix them? In June, we released a few spots and they sold out QUICKLY. We'll likely open up a few more spots again soon. Learn more about DT Sessions + grab a waitlist spot: https://daveyandkrista.com/designers-touch/ Episode blog + show notes: https://daveyandkrista.com/website-fixes-uplevel-website/

Episode 159: How We Stayed Organized, Energized, and Focused

About a year ago, we had a little too much in common with a 24-hour dinner. Not in the way of aging fluorescent lighting or the smell of greasy french fries—but if you walked into our house any time before 5pm, it's likely that there was a pot of coffee on. 4am wake up? Time for a coffee. 10am mid morning slump? _Don't mind if I do. _ 2pm post-lunch debate: nap or coffee? _How much is too much? _ And on really exhausting days, Davey was known to mix a little pre-workout in. If you're keeping track, that's a LOT of caffeine. Thankfully, these days we've found a few alternate ways to stay organized, energized and focused throughout the day. Not only do the methods we're about to discuss help us stay focused on summer days when the pool is calling our names, but they also help us avoid burnout.
