#33 - Marty Jertson - Mastering Weather Conditions
In this episode of the Fit For Golf Podcast. I am joined by Marty Jertson. Marty is the VP of fitting and performance for PING. He is also an exceptionally good golfer, having qualified for a number of major championships and PGA Tour events. Marty is genuinely one of my favorite people to talk to, and one of the smartest I know. He has a hugely vast knowledge of a wide range of golf performance variables and has tried his best to implement them into his own game and help others with theirs. In this episode I am joined by Dr Tyler Standifird, a sports biomechanics PhD. Tyler works as the lead biomechanics researcher for SuperSpeed Golf. #26 - Seamus Power - Thriving on the PGA Tour
In this episode of the Fit For Golf Podcast I am joined by PGA Tour Player Seamus Power. Seamus is currently on an upward trend that few golfers in the world can rival. At the beginning of 2021 he was ranked 434th in the world. Since then he has won his first PGA Tour event, picked up 5 top 10’s and climbed to 70th in the world rankings. In this episode we discuss how his game has improved so much, and what he plans to do to get even better. I got to know Seamus in May 2020 when we started working together on his physical training. He is a superb athlete, clearly a world class golfer, and an extremely nice guy. During our hour long conversation Seamus is very open in detailing how he has approached golf improvement. While he is at a level that very few can relate to I think any keen golfer can learn from the lessons he shares. #25 - Alex Ehlert - Physical Attributes & Club Head Speed
n this episode I am joined by Alex Ehlert. Alex has a PhD in Human Movement Sciences and is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. I got to know Alex through social media. He has done a lot of research on the correlation between different physical strength, power, and mobility measures and club head speed, and posted many helpful graphics. He recently published a paper in the European Journal Of Sport Science titled: The Correlations Between Physical Correlations and Golf Club Head Speed. In this discussion we dug into what he found, and how he advises you approach working on your club head speed.
