No Such Thing with Krysta Huber
Operation Podcast
There’s no such thing as one right way to do life. No Such Thing is a podcast hosted by Krysta Huber — marketing strategist and coach — about the overlap between work, health, and the rest of life that happens in between. Each episode is a look at how we build habits, make decisions, and lead ourselves through the parts of life that don’t fit into clean categories. Some weeks it’s something practical. Other weeks, it’s the kind of reminder that lands when you need it most — that you don’t have to burn everything down to make a change, and you don’t have to have everything figured out.

THE FYX 071: Strengthening The Mind, Body, and Spirit through IV Drip Therapies with Nurse Practitioner Erica LoPresti
We're taking both a personal and clinical approach to mental health awareness month in this episode with special guest Erica LoPresti. Erica is a family nurse practitioner and founder of Shore Point Healing and Aesthetics in Rumson, New Jersey. Erica completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2002 from William Patterson University. She has since specialized in a number of medical disciplines including: cardiology, internal medicine and surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery--helping with some of the first successful nerve transplants in the country, functional medicine, and is certified in aesthetics through the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine.
After years of seeing all the disease and devastation that illness causes in hospital settings, Erica sought a higher quality, more therapeutic approach to medicine. She began working for a functional medicine nutritionist where she learned how food and lifestyle function as truly preventative medicine. Erica continues to practice internal medicine and cardiology out of both Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas and Hackensack Meridian health systems at RWJ in New Brunswick, NJ, as well as JFK hospital in Edison, NJ.
The years of clinical and professional experience came full circle in Erica's life when her longtime partner received a life-ending diagnosis of Stage 4 Cancer. Despite the gravity and progressiveness of his diagnosis, he lived for another 7 years under Erica's care, much of which she attributes to the alternative therapies they implemented, including IV drip therapies and mindfulness. The personal and professional experiences combined inspired Erica's practice: Shore Point Healing.
In this episode, we discuss:
- The power of the mind in keeping the body going
- How our hustle and grind mentality is negatively impacting our physical and mental health
- Alternative methods for treating mood disorders like depression and anxiety, outside of traditional medicine
- NAD and NMN -- and IV cocktails including NAD, better known as 'The Happy Shot'
- The efficacy of various forms of supplementation--specifically intravenous treatments vs. liposomals vs. capsules
- Techniques for learning how to meditate
- The importance of protein in the diet
- Wellness brands Erica and Krysta both know and love, like Cymbiotika
For all of our New Jersey-based FYX listeners, be sure to visit Shore Point Healing in-person for alternative medicine treatment options. Visit the Shore Point website for additional information and to book an appointment.

THE FYX 068: How to Maximize Your Results through Boutique Fitness Classes
We've got Coach Krysta in the hot seat for this episode, previously recorded for Ever Forward Radio with Chase Chewning in July of 2021. Listen in as Krysta shares her thoughts on getting unstuck and taking proactive steps toward your health and fitness goals.
Chase and Krysta talk about the negative impacts that social media has had on the fitness industry, and how a low barrier to entry has diluted the quality of fitness professionals out there. If you're a boutique fitness lover, this doesn't mean you should walk away from the class environment. Instead, let's think about personal accountability: When is the last time you've really audited your progress? How is your participation in that specific workout helping you get closer to your goals?
And from the other coaching perpsective: If you're a group fitness instructor, you have a responsibility to your clients to invest in continuing education. What are you doing [or not doing] to both improve the client's in-studio experience and to help them see measurable results?
In this episode, we discuss:
- The difference between results-oriented training and training for general health purposes.
- Defining your fitness 'WHY': Are you just moving, or are you there to get results?
- Why it's important to speak up to your trainer when you feel stuck in a fitness rut or feel like your results don't match your effort
- How too much variety might be a limiting factor in reaching your physique and aesthetic goals
- The value of basics--and why you shouldn't get distracted by all of the bells and whistles of the modern fitness industry
- More isn't better

THE FYX 065: Healing through the Hurdles
We've got a SOLO episode with Coach Krysta in the spirit of Women's History Month and our goal to highlight badass FYX females all month long. In this episode, Krysta brings personal perspective and context to the 2022 Women's History Month theme--which is appointed each year by the National Women's History Alliance. The 2022 Women's History Month theme is: "Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope." According to HISTORY, "this theme is "both a tribute to the ceaseless work of caregivers and frontline workers during this ongoing pandemic and also a recognition of the thousands of ways that women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history.'"
Krysta details her own healing journey over the past two years and shares some of the tools, resources, and support that has helped [and continues to help] in her growth and self development. Some of those tools include:
- The Five Minute Journal
- Various books including: "How To Survive the Loss of a Love" and "Clarity & Connection"
- Walking and outdoor walking meditations -- specifically time spent walking along the beach
- Focusing on small, guaranteed daily wins like aiming for a 10-min yoga practice vs. a full 45-minute flow, or prepping just one homemade meal vs. a "perfect" day of 3 or 4 meals prepped in advance and tracked in a food tracking tool
- Her responsibilities as a dog mom: studies have shown that walking dogs, as well as patting and talking to them, are positive impacts on a person's parasympathetic neural pathways--aka they support your ability to de-stress.

THE FYX 062: Going ALL IN on Life with Jockey Nik Juarez
When Jockey Nik Juarez sat down with Coach Krysta at The Fort Athletic Club for this special episode, we finished the conversation with a quote that Nik lives by: “If you develop a resentment for losing, you’ll develop a winning mentality," - Devon Levesque: serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, and fitness enthusiast.
Off of the racetrack, Nik is a husband, father, and marathon runner. He is an aspiring ultra runner and tri-athlete, but we've got no doubt he'll have his first Ironman on the calendar within the next 12 months. Nik is also a member at The Fort Athletic Club in Oceanport, New Jersey, where Coach Krysta oversees marketing and one of the Club's boutique fitness studios. Nik calls Monmouth Park racetrack, just down the road from The Fort, his official racing home. He grew up in Maryland, and even though he was quite literally born into becoming a jockey, it wasn't until his first year of college that he took a serious interest in it. Nik is a multiple grade stakes winning jockey: he won his very first stakes race in 2015 on a horse he now owns, Valid, at Monmouth Park. In 2017, he won the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes aboard Actress at Pimlico Race Course.
In this episode we discuss:
- The importance of mindset and having a winning mentality
- The nuances of horse racing and understanding a jockey's racing strategy
- What the day-to-day routine looks like for professional jockeys
- Nik's struggle with his identity when dealing with an injury and the uncertainty of his sport throughout the COVID19 pandemic
- How Nik and his wife, Melissa, manage a long distance relationship with one baby and a second on the way
- Nik's resilience in his profession
- David Goggins' 4 x 4 x 48 Challenge, which Nik will be taking on, beginning at 11 p.m. EST on March 4, 2022.
Nik is competing in the 4 x 4 x 48 to raise funds and awareness for Team Foster, an organization that provides foster animals to retired US veterans, and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF), a non-profit that provides financial assistance to thoroughbred and quarter horse jockeys who've sustained catastrophic injuries in racing. If you'd like to donate to Nik's efforts, please visit his GoFundMe page HERE.
