One thing I've been trying is practicing gratitude.
It's something I've struggled with, but recently I had a breakthrough that is really working for me.

17. Exercise Based Therapy with Anthony Simons
Welcome to Episode 17 - Exercise Based Therapy with Anthony Simons
When we think of counselling or therapy, we think of sitting on a couch across from a therapist.
We're nervous, there's a box of tissues are next to us, and we don't know whether to look the therapist in the eye or out the window.
But therapy doesn't have to be like that!
In this episode, I chat with Anthony Simons from Fit 'N Well in Adelaide, South Australia.
Anthony has taken his love for sport and fitness, and blended it with his passion for social work. He's turned the traditional counselling model on its head, and uses a gym to help his clients to process what's troubling them.

16. 5 Tips For Talking About Mental Health
Welcome to Episode 16 - 5 Tips For Talking About Mental Health
Today's episode seeks to answer a question from one of the Mindful Men community members:
“how soon is too soon to be cracking jokes with a person who has experienced a mental health episode?”
It's a great question, and the answer might seem obvious. But it's not so straight forward, because our response to questions about our mental health, including our response to humour, is as unique to us as our experience of mental illness itself.
But using my own experience as a guide, I've got 5 tips to talk about mental health, including when humour may be ok.

13. Mental Health Recovery
Welcome to Episode 13 - Mental Health Recovery
In recent months, I've been struggling mentally. I've been angry, upset, sad, depressed... you name it, I've felt it!
So in this episode, I wanted to highlight this fact, and reflect upon the rollercoaster ride that is mental health.
I frame this using the terms mental health recovery or mental health pathway, as these are often used to describe someone's journey from ill-health to wellness.
And this journey isn't linear. It isn't straight forward, nor is it easy.
It's unique to us all, and full of ups and downs like a rollercoaster.
