Episode 29: From the Move to the Platform ft. Danielle Bond and Nick Santangelo

Last weekend, Team Precision had 7 athletes compete in the USAPL New Hampshire State Championships. Kevin caught up with two of his team captains, Danielle Bond and Nick Santangelo, to talk changes in nutrition and training going into their last meet. Danielle cut more than 30 pounds to qualify for Raw Nationals as an -84kg lifter, and Nick was able to maintain -93kg and not cut into a meet for the first time. Episode 25: 20 Years of USA Powerlifting ft. Zac Cooper

Kevin gets on the mic this week with Coach Zac Cooper to talk all things USA Powerlifting. Zac holds a bachelor’s degree in health & exercise science with an emphasis in exercise physiology from Truman State University, and a master’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis in strength and conditioning from Louisiana Tech University. Zac also holds certifications as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach by USA Weightlifting, and as a club coach and National Referee with USA Powerlifting. In his capacity as a powerlifting coach, he’s been the coach of Truman State, Louisiana Tech Universities’ Powerlifting Programs, as well as assistant coach of the Northeastern University Powerlifting Programs. In 2006, while coaching at Louisiana Tech, the Men’s & Women’s Powerlifting Teams won both Team National Championships and he was the Collegiate National Coach of the Year. More recently, he served as the Assistant Coach for Team USA at the Pan-American Powerlifting Championships in 2013, and at the North American Powerlifting Championships in 2013 & 2014. Episode 24: Training for Longevity in Powerlifting ft. Nicholas Guidice

This week’s episode brings listeners an interview with elite USAPL athlete Nicholas Guidice, who is fresh off a bronze medal performance at the Arnold Pro American where he totaled 835kg in the raw 105kg class. Nick is currently ranked #53 all time for males in any USAPL Raw Open weight class by Wilks, and #9 all time in the -105kg Raw Open class. He placed 4th at the 2017 Raw Nationals. Dr. Zak Gabor is a 2015 graduate from Ithaca College where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Clinical Health Science degree from Ithaca College in 2013. Zak is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW).
