How to Eliminate Self-Doubt and Build Confidence as a Runner with Sandra Mikulic
We’ve all faced that negative voice in our life that tells us we can’t do something, or that we are not enough.
And sometimes, it’s caused us to make decisions that don’t support who we want to be, as a runner or a person.
But there is a way to be stronger than that negative voice, so that you can ultimately be the runner and person that you want to be, and accomplish all the big goals you set out for yourself.
For Sandra Mikulic, this was something she learned by overcoming her own self-doubt through finding consistency, believing in herself, and taking actionable steps to be the best version of herself.
And that has allowed her to not only run multiple ultramarathons, marathons, and run a 5K every day since Jan 2019; but it has also allowed her to live a fulfilling life where she truly loves herself.
Sandra Mikulic, a passionate Canadian runner and proud mother of four, is the creator of Run Your Life magazine, a publication celebrating athletes of all body types and abilities.
Sandra discovered her love for running at the age of 43 in 2018, making the shift from treadmill routines to running outdoors.
On January 1, 2019, she set a personal goal to run or walk 5 kilometers every single day—a commitment she has upheld without fail.
Sandra has participated in numerous races, including marathons and ultra-marathons, while using her journey to challenge common perceptions about body image in sports. By openly sharing her experiences and personal challenges, she has cultivated a welcoming and supportive community.
Inspired by this connection, Sandra founded Run Your Life magazine to encourage others to embrace movement and foster self-acceptance, no matter their size or fitness level.
Prepare to be inspired by this episode.
Huge thank you to Sandra for coming on the show!

Dialing-In Hydration, Flat Running, and Mindset to Win a Golden Ticket with Jeff Mogavero
What does it take to have an amazing race in a type of terrain that is a different style from what you’re normally used to?
For Jeff Mogavero, an accomplished mountain ultrarunner for On Running, he looked to answer that question by racing in the Javelina Jundred 100 miler, just months after completing UTMB.

How did he do it? In this episode he shares his training, race strategy, hydration strategy, and mindset that all led to his special day in the desert.
We cover things such as:
How to go from mountain training to flat training
Optimizing mindset both in training and in the race
How to nail hydration (even if it has been a struggle point in the past)
How to execute a plan in a race, even when the conditions are tough
How to enjoy the process amidst hard training
