Finding the Throughline with Kate Hanley
Kate Hanley
Finding the Throughline: Conversations about the Creative Process invites you into the minds of writers and other creatives as they open up about their process, their doubts, and what kinds of changes they’re thinking about making. The questions are mildly invasive, honestly, and the answers are unvarnished…and so refreshing! Whether your creative work is writing, painting, making music, parenting, or simply living, Finding the Throughline can help you get—and stay—inspired. Invigorated, even. For detailed show notes on each interview, visit katehanley.substack.com. [Trusting Yourself]: A New Way to Think About Doubt. EP: 671
Doubt is something that is always going to crop up from time to time. And when those doubts come in–well, it can feel like torture. It’s an open invitation for your inner critic to go hog wild. [Trusting Yourself]: Reading Your Body’s Signals. EP: 670
Your inner wisdom lives in your body, whether you call it a feeling in your bones or a gut feeling or something you know all the way down to your toes. The more we learn about the gut the more science recognizes it as a second brain, with more than 100 million neurons spread throughout the digestive tract. That’s a lot of processing power that we overlook when we try to only cogitate our way through something. And we’re never really taught how to understand the signals our body – aka our gut – is sending out. And that’s a real loss because while analytical or critical thinking is not bad, it’s just not the only game in town. Let's make today the day this starts to change. Learn more about your ad choices.
