#97- My Current Life Update
Heyyooo! It's been a while since we got to sit down and chat. Is it just me or have the last few months felt really weird for you too? I have just been feeling super stuck in my environment lately and I was starting to notice that it was affecting my mental health. So, I decided to make a big life change: I'm back at Western University for the semester! And, more importantly, I'm playing soccer here! This was a super random and last-minute decision for me as I had no intentions of ever returning to this level of sport after I graduated, but it feels so good to be back! In this episode, I explain what this "stuck" feeling looked like for me, how and why I made the decision to come back to play, and what I hope to get out of this next chapter of my life. It's been a wild last couple of weeks but I am so excited to bring you all along this new journey. Be sure to follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook @therevolutionizedmind, and don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe to the show on whatever platform you're listening on!

#96- Step by Step (with Erica Romaniuk)
This week on TRM, we are joined by the Founder of Step by Step Tours, Erica Romaniuk! Erica graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson) and was very grateful to find a job in her field post-grad. However, this job brought on lots of anxiety, feelings of isolation, and overall poor mental well-being. This forced her to reassess what she wanted to do with her life. Her identity was strongly tied to being a proud woman in STEM and it was very difficult to walk away from that. So, she decided to start going to therapy and took some time to do lots of honest self-reflection. Erica thought long and hard about what truly makes her happy, what she’s passionate about, and how she could combine these things with her professional life. And then, Step by Step Tours was born! Erica tells us all about what it was like to leave her job in engineering and take a chance on her new business. This really is an inspiring conversation to listen to and I hope it can help someone else out there! #95- Using Sport as a Tool (with Benji Arhen)
The Revolutionized Mind Podcast is BACK this week with the one and only, Benji Arhen! In this episode, Ben tells us all about his journey as an athlete, explains how we can use sport as a tool in our lives, and emphasizes the importance of building mental toughness. Born and raised in Ghana, Benji didn’t actually start playing football until his late high school years. Very quickly, he made Team Ontario and got scouted by Queens University, resulting in many transitions: physically, mentally, and emotionally. After an extremely successful varsity career and obtaining a Masters Degree, Benji decided to stay involved by coaching, mentoring, and inspiring youth, both in and outside of sport. This episode is filled with an incredible amount of passion and will surely impact you in some small way. #94- Life with a Hallucination (with Mary Tompros)
Let's start by taking a big deep breath together! This week, we are joined by mental health advocate and social work student, Mary Tompros. Mary lives with a chronic hallucination, and in this episode, she tells us all about how it started, how she learned to adapt, and just generally what it feels like to never be alone. She shares some of the coping skills that therapy has given her, the different perspectives she’s gained, and just how much she’s grown through the challenging times. Mary also addresses the stigma, emphasizing that people who experience psychosis ARE NOT DANGEROUS. There is a big misconception about having hallucinations, and Mary uses her platform to show the true realities of living with a complex mental illness, including the good times and the bad. I’m so grateful that I got the chance to connect with Mary and learn more about her story. This conversation is extremely informative and deep, in a funny and relatable way. Trigger warning: this episode discusses the topic of suicide, so please check in with yourself before consuming this content. Additionally, I give a brief update about my upcoming break from the podcast! I'm doing okay, I just need some time to breathe, so I will be taking a break from releasing episodes until further notice. #91- The Power of Mindset and Vulnerability (with Kevin Boucher)
This week on TRM, we are joined by Mindset Coach and Entrepreneur, Kevin Boucher! In this episode, Kevin talks about how his mental health journey influenced his coaching career. After running two successful businesses and “having everything”, he found himself in a really dark headspace where he didn’t know what to do next. His relationships were suffering, he couldn’t identify his purpose in the world, and he started asking himself some really big questions. After going through a health scare and spending time alone throughout the pandemic, he was introduced to the world of coaching and finally started to feel motivated again. He was able to improve his own mindset and begin helping others to do the same. Kevin’s story highlights the true power of vulnerability, authenticity, and self-love. This conversation is super inspiring and relatable, and I hope there's a thing or two that you can take away and apply to your own life! Happy sunny Friday! This week on TRM, we are joined by Certified Nutrition Specialist, Abby King. In this episode, Abby tells us all about the gut-brain connection. She explains how the food that we eat, our eating habits, and our mentality around food all have a direct impact on our gut and brain health. Abby takes a holistic and personalized approach in her work and that really shows in this episode. She emphasizes the importance of nervous system regulation, finding a balanced diet that works for you, and using evidence-based practice as a guide, not the “be-all end-all”. #89- ReLaunch Your Business and Your Life (with Hilary DeCesare)
Happy long weekend! Today, we are joined by CEO, Public Speaker, Executive and Solopreneur Coach, Author, and Award-Winning Entrepreneur, Hilary DeCesare from The ReLaunch Co! In this episode, Hilary talks about how her own personal life “relaunches” have put her in the position that she’s in today. Through remaining curious and having an innate desire to succeed, Hilary has learned a lot about the relationship between neuroscience and business. She explains her 3HQ (head, heart, and higher self) process, how we can truly “tune in” to what we want to achieve, and she also provides great insight into why we need to get out of our own way. She actually coaches me through one of her strategies (I loved this!) and emphasizes how important it is to lean into your own transformation. This episode is great for any high-achievers, business owners, and/or anyone looking to change their career path! I had so much fun connecting with Hilary and learned a whole lot about mindset in business. #88- Sick Not Weak (with Michael Landsberg)
This week on The Revolutionized Mind, we are joined by Canadian Sports Broadcaster, Mental Health Speaker, and Founder of Sick Not Weak, Michael Landsberg! I am so grateful that I got the chance to sit down with someone that I listened to on the radio growing up (fangirl moment). In this episode, Michael talks about his experience with depression, the impacts of talking about mental illness publicly, and why he ultimately decided to start a Charitable Foundation. Michael is extremely passionate and honest when it comes to changing the conversation around mental health. He shares lots of personal stories to highlight how important it is to talk about these things and the positive effects it can have on those who are struggling. Michael helps others feel less alone in their mental illness journeys and creates a safe space for people to open up about what they are going through. Trigger warning: this episode discusses self-harm and suicide. This conversation is so impactful, in my unbiased opinion, and I really hope you’re able to take something away from listening today!
