Future Histories

Matt Huber, Professor für Geographie an der Syracuse University und Autor von "Climate Change as Class War", sowie Kohei Saito, Professor an der Universität Tokio und Verfasser von "Marx in the Anthropocene", diskutieren wegweisende Konzepte. Sie beleuchten Degrowth-Kommunismus und die Grenzen traditionellen Wachstums. Dabei fordern sie eine soziale Mobilisierung zur Bekämpfung des Klimawandels und hinterfragen kapitalistische Strukturen. Silke van Dijk, Professorin für Soziologie an der Universität Jena und Expertin für alternative Regierungsformen, beleuchtet in ihrem Gespräch alternative Ansatzpunkte der Gouvernementalität. Sie diskutiert, wie genossenschaftliche Strukturen zu einer Demokratisierung beitragen können, und thematisiert die komplexe Beziehung zwischen Zwang und Freiwilligkeit in der Regierungsführung. Zudem wird untersucht, wie alternative Regierungstechnologien das Freiheitskonzept neu definieren und welche Rolle Zeitpolitik und alternative Lebensmodelle in der heutigen Gesellschaft spielen.

Andreas Gehrlach, Wissenschaftlicher Programmdirektor am IFK, erklärt die Ideen von Marshall Sahlins über die ursprünglichen Wohlstandsgesellschaften. Er hinterfragt gängige Annahmen über Jäger- und Sammlergesellschaften und hebt deren entspannte Lebensweise hervor. Die Diskussion dreht sich um soziale Gerechtigkeit vs. Glück im Sozialismus und die Erhaltung egalitärer Gemeinschaften. Außerdem werden moderne gesellschaftliche Herausforderungen und wie altsteinzeitliche Erkenntnisse uns helfen können, angesprochen. Eine inspirierende Auseinandersetzung mit unserer Vergangenheit für eine bessere Zukunft!
