Episode 096 Your Big S Self w/Liz Getman

How can we understand joy as our natural state? How can we connect our individual meditation and yoga practice to the collective, so that we do less harm in the context of systemic injustice? How can emotional sensitivity become a superpower? These are some of the questions that arose in my conversation with Liz Getman. Liz is a yoga teacher, writer and podcaster who talks about our Big *S self and why "my liberation is connected to your liberation". You are going to love this conversation! Episode 093 When practice doesn't go as planned

Usually we bring practices into our life for a purpose. We want to feel energetic, we want to get rid of back pain, we want to get rid of that stressed-out feeling inside. We have big asks of yoga & meditation. Sometimes we expect a lot from an individual practice session. So what do we do when practices doesn't go as planned? And how can we be open to the benefits of detours and the aim of 1% better...Would it help us stick with it and help us achieve what we're really after? **Getting a little bit of that Luminous feeling in messy real life isn't as difficult as you think. And implementing & following through is always easier with support and accountability. So if you'd like to practice with me, you can find all the details of Messy Luminous Yoga and Messy Luminous Meditation here: https://mailchi.mp/sarahbhunt/messyluminousyoga https://mailchi.mp/sarahbhunt/messyluminousmeditation

Episode 091 Comfort, discomfort & the big payoff

Sometimes the things that make me feel good don't involve a lot of comfort. And sometimes what's comfortable in the moment doesn't make me feel very good in my day. This episode is about the relationship between comfort, discomfort and what I think of as the 'big payoff'...which is that feeling of energy, vitality and being in the flow. It's about getting out of the habit of just "falling into our day" almost by accident, and instead getting back into a morning habit that helps us feel good all day. And it's about getting through very minor discomfort (like getting out of that cozy bed a little earlier) that is absolutely a million times worth it!

Episode 088 The Art of Letting Go w/ Vani Shiroor

In this episode, I have a conversation with Vani Shiroor about a traditional form of Indian sand art she uses as a daily mindfulness practice. Vani reminds us that creating inner space and calm minds doesn't require a meditation cushion, but can be done creatively, in our homes as a daily ritual. She also talks about the importance of this art being done at the threshold of the home, what that signifies for our inner life, and how brushing this art away each day has been the most powerful practice of letting go. Check out Vani's amazing sand dot art courses on IG @dot_ur_minds P.s. if life has suddenly gotten way to busy and your mind is feeling it — July is a perfect time to create some inner space! Messy Luminous Being is inviting you to challenge yourself to 5 minutes of stillness practice every day in July...the catch? You practice standing with eyes open. Disrupt the limiting belief that meditation and a calm mind requires a meditation cushion and time alone in complete silence. This July Messy Luminous 5 minute meditation challenge is free and I can't for you to see what 5 minutes a day can do! Details in the newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/sarahbhunt/messyluminousbeing

There is a secret risk to cultivating a beautiful state of mind and living our most luminous life. We all probably feel it, but it can lie beneath the surface unacknowledged.
