She cheered competitively, power tumbled, and was a year-round competitive swimmer. Summer earned many state, regional, and national titles in competitive cheer. At the youngest age to qualify for the ranking, she ranked 9th in the nation.  At 16, Summer gave birth to her first child.  While a student at MTSU and now a young mother, Summer worked three part-time jobs to build a new life for her and her daughter.
