My Thoughts Monday #108- Why I Record Myself, and Not The Athletes I Get To Work With
“If that personal band is going to allow me to better myself, and I’m using them to do so, then I don’t know if I feel that that’s the right way to do it.”This My Thoughts Monday is brought to you by Vald Performance, the team behind the NordBord, ForceDecks, the GroinBar and HumanTrak. Make sure to go check out all their great products at: www.valdperformance.comI’m using this week’s My Thoughts Monday to answer a question that I’ve been asked by multiple people who I hold in very high regard in relation to why I use myself as the video subject for our videos we are putting out to share what we do in training here, and not the athletes. This is just my personal opinion, and not an agenda I’m trying to push, but I do feel that these are things we need to think about as the landscape of college sports is changing. My Thoughts Monday #107- Addressing What’s In Your Box
“You have to have the questions that you need, if you’re going to find out the questions that you don’t need, and that starts with addressing the situations that are right at your feet.”This My Thoughts Monday is brought to you by Vald Performance, the team behind the NordBord, ForceDecks, the GroinBar and HumanTrak. With all their products providing evidence-based solutions to performance professionals so they can get the right information, for the right decision, at the right time. Make sure to go check out all their great products at: www.valdperformance.comThis week’s My Thoughts Monday is based off a conversation with my director and a presentation we had at July’s edition of The Seminar. Although we need to look for greater ways to do things, and better questions that we need to ask so we can find better solutions to problems/issues we see/have in our work, there are a lot of things that are right in front of us that we need to address. We like to run to big ticket items and make massive additions to what we are doing without really addressing what is right in front of us. We like to talk about “low hanging fruit” but when there are situations that we need to address we tend to jump right past them and try to go way to the top of the tree.
