Ep30 - Christopher Krietchman: Body Building, Battling COVID-19 and Serving Others

If you think body dysmorphia is gender specific, think again. Christopher Krietchman battled it for years. As a professional bodybuilder, numbers mattered. Add a learning disability on top of that fit fix and you have a potential formula for disaster. It took years for Chris to turn his life around. But when he did, the shift created a wonderful opportunity to serve others in healthy living…and Wellvyl was born. Then COVID hit and his results came back positive. Ten months have taught Chris a lot. To the point where his own health and wellness journey has him running for office with hopes of serving his community in a whole new way. On this episode of HIListically Speaking, get to know how this strong man is lifting much more than weights to make the world a better and healthier place. Ep29 - Joanna Lovering: Fat, Fabulous and Fierce

What do you think of when you see or hear the word FAT? For far too long, the word has been seen as negative, insulting and even embarrassing. But, as Executive Presence Coach Joanna Lovering of Copper + Rise shared, "it's just a descriptor". Fat is merely a word that should be seen the same way as you describe the color of your eyes. Joanna spent years battling the ups and downs of her weight. And with it came emotions to match. That is, until she turned a new page and saw the power of being present. The confidence, character and style that blooms when you decide to own it. Just like we are all more than our numbers, we are also more than those every day descriptors too. Get ready to be empowered as we…chew the fat, on this episode of HIListically Speaking. Ep27 - Justin Roethlingshoefer: Owning Your Inner Athlete

How well are you sleeping, eating, performing and well…living? If you struggle with any area of your health, it may come down to missing some important information that could change your life. Justin Roethlingshoefer gets it. Because he's been there. He lived and breathed hockey for years. It kind of comes with the territory when you're from Canada. He's worked as a performance director in the NCAA, NHL, and even runs a private camp for pro hockey players. But loving hockey didn't mean living well. Injury, addiction, depression and anxiety were getting in the way of life outside the arena. That is, until he had a wake up call about the one machine he needed to manage better…himself. Today, his knowledge of performance, health, recovery and sleep space has made him a leader in using data to drive decision making. Not just on the ice but in the corporate world as well. Because, any one has the ability to own their inner athlete. On this episode of HIListically Speaking, Justin shares more about scoring those goals. Find out more about how you can Own It and Justin at https://www.justinroethlingshoefer.com/ If you have a great story to tell or want to be the first to know about upcoming guests, giveaways, speaking engagements or events? Ep25 - Jessica Cordova Kramer: Turning Lemons into Lemonade

It's not uncommon for tragedy to bring people together. There's a feeling of "I'm not alone" that can be both healing and empowering. And can even spark the most miraculous shifts in life. Jessica Cordova Kramer can attest to that. She's a former Wall Street lawyer and podcast producer who lost her brother after a long battle with addiction. And when she heard fellow podcaster Stephanie Whittels Wachs share her own story of loss, after her brother died from an overdose, a bond was created…and then some. Together these women have gone on to create Lemonada Media, a podcast network that Jessica says, is on a mission "to make shows that help people get out of bed in the morning, that help people deal with the hardest sh*t in their real lives." On this episode of HIListically Speaking, Jessica shares more about the humor behind the healing and the journey from lemons to lemonade. Ep24 - Michelle Hobgood: Unconscious Biases, Autism and My Authentic Self

You can learn a lot about a person if you just take time to listen to their story. Michelle Hobgood came into my life as my health coach. With over 15 years in the fitness industry, keeping me accountable on my wellness journey was second nature to her. And frankly, she continues to inspire me, which you'll soon find out. But, what I didn't know about Michelle at the time was that she was fighting her own health and wellness battles…and then some. Michelle is fit, feisty and has an infectious laugh that you just can't help but love. At first meeting, you'd never know she is the mom of an adult son with Autism. You also would miss that she is in a multicultural marriage. And likely, it wouldn't dawn on you that she faces unconscious biases every day; professionally and personally. On this episode of HIListically Speaking, Michelle shares more about her own journey on why being considered a "strong, black woman" can sometimes set the stage for biases we don't even realize we are creating. But also, this intimate conversation opened some doors where there were once walls. Doors to a better understanding that if we spend more time listening to one another, we can learn to turn awareness into action in a positive and productive way...for all. You can find more of Michelle's transparent musings and how she juggles it all with a smile (most of the time) on her Instagram and website. Ep23 - Jeffrey Small: From Anchor Desk to Addiction

Jeffrey Small had everything going for him. Friends, family and a great job back in his hometown. When you're a news anchor, you're in many ways a celebrity in your local community. I know this because Jeffrey and I were co-anchors in Louisiana during our early days in TV News. But a move to St. Louis brought a different kind of fame. Something that changed his entire world when cocaine and meth came into play. Suddenly, the respected guy on TV who loved to party, was now on the front page of the newspapers for all the wrong reasons. Addiction took it all away from Jeff and somehow he lived to tell about it. After hitting rock bottom, this two time Emmy Winning Journalist had no choice but to look at life differently. Small is now an outspoken voice for others in need of hope and healing and shares his story on this episode of HIListically Speaking. Ep22 - David Gandelman: The Business of Being Zen

The healing arts is big business. And for anyone who works in health or healing, there's a responsibility that comes with showing up for yourself and others. It can also leave you with a lot of questions unanswered. David Gandelman knows this all too well. His journey took him from playing hockey in New Jersey to working mindfully in Hawaii. From ashrams to improv and Cornell to Colorado, the creator of Meditation School shares some valuable lessons about what it takes to honor yourself and the business of being zen. And he's bound to make you laugh along the way. David connects energetic experience, ancient wisdom traditions, and humor, to create a safe atmosphere for people interested in learning to meditate, and develop their natural spiritual abilities. He is also the host of both the Energy Matters Podcast and Grounded Sleep Podcast. Get ready to put the "yay" in namaste with some powerful lessons and little laughter on what it takes to live your best life.
