EP 34: 4 Relapse Prevention Steps to Remove the Triggers, so You Can Do the NEXT RIGHT THING While You Embrace the Process
Happy Monday girl!
In today's episode, I share all about the 4 recovery steps for relapse prevention.
I discuss what exactly is lapsing & relapsing in eating disorder recovery. & I share the 4 key steps that you can start implementing today to get out of your rut & prevent relapse of disordered eating.
Temptation is temporary. & if you can remove the triggers by understanding them in the first place, then you can help prevent relapse all together.
I hope you love this episode, just as much as I loved pouring into your day.
Here is a quote that hits very close to home for me & I pray it provides hope & healing to your recovery journey:
“Food is something I am going to have to face at least three times a day for the rest of my life. And I am not perfect. But one really bad day does not mean that I am hopeless and back at square one with my eating disorder. Olympic ice skaters fall in their quest for the gold. Heisman Trophy winners throw interceptions. Professional singers forget the words. And people with eating disorders sometimes slip back into an old pattern. But all of these individuals just pick themselves back up and do the next right thing. The ice skater makes the next jump. The football player throws the next pass. The singer finishes the song. And I am going to eat breakfast.”- Jenni Schaefer

EP 32: A Message of Hope During Heartbreaking Loss + Vulnerability & Realness to Grieve & Let Go Without ED
Hey girl,
This episode was a rough one to record. But I know in my heart it was to serve you. This weekend brought so much pain to my life. I almost didn't join you on the mic this week. But I knew in order to honor the sweet loss of my precious Lily, & to bring hope to you, that I had to be vulnerable.

Grief is part of letting go. If you are struggling with grief, depression or letting go of your eating disorder or a loss of something you so desperately love, this one is for you.
I hope my story brings peace to your soul & leaves you clinging to the fact that while we may experience pain here on this planet, we can also experience great love & hope.
That is my hope for you this week friend.
I pray today's episode brings realness & love to your life.

EP 31: Girl, Fat Isn’t a Feeling! Body Acceptance, Weight Restoration & Reality for Your Healing Transformation
Truth: Your body will continue to change.
Eating disorder recovery will be the most transformational experience you may ever go through. I believe that your relationship with food, is a direct reflection to your relationship with your life & your true self.
The biggest personal obstacle I faced during my own recovery journey, was the fear of weight gain & living in "a new body" following weight restoration from anorexia.
Another truth: your body will be where your body wants & needs to be in order to thrive at it's best state of performance. This may result in your body changing!!
In today's episode, I share different tips and things to embrace as you experience changes in your body during the recovery process.
The first step is acceptance!
Today's show is packed full of body acceptance, weight restoration & other realities that you may need (like letting go of body checking & that dreaded number on the scale) to support your healing transformation.
Have you considered that maybe the real problem is not your actual body, but your false distorted standard of what you think your body should look like?
In this episode, I bring the fire on some pretty touchy topics.
I hope today's truth brings love, empowerment & insight into your own story & struggle with disordered eating.

EP 30: It’s a Great Day to Recover From an Eating Disorder! Be a Boss of Your Morning With These 8 Rituals For Your AM Routine
Hey Girl!
Happy Monday!
I hope you had such a blessed Easter weekend.
While my boys were running around on candy fumes, I was preparing for the week ahead. In today's episode I share with you how to be a boss of your morning with 8 things that I do daily for my AM routine.
I admit, I am NOT a morning person. But, I AM A BOSS of my mornings!
In today's show, I share Mel Robbins, 5-Second Rule & High-Five Habit, which are both strategies that I implement in my own morning routine.
Girl, your mood in the morning matters. & yes, you still may need that cup of coffee to get your feet on solid ground, but it's time to set the intention of the day before the day sets you (with or without your coffee)!
These tips will help you prepare & plan ahead of the day, so that you can stop hitting the snooze button & can start being the BOSS of your morning & ultimately, the BOSS of your recovery!
In order to recover from disordered eating, it's going to mean that you need to spend some time with yourself! Morning routines create momentum. If you need a morning routine, I got you girl!
Get out your fav journal & a sparkly new pen, it's time to implement 8 things that I feel will bring peace & intention into your life.
I love the question Steve Job asked himself every single morning, "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do?"
Go ahead, try it on you today girl!
If today was your last day on the planet, would you spend it counting calories, restricting carbs, over exercising on the Peloton? I truly hope NOT!
If you are looking to heal your body & your relationship with food, start today to do something new first thing in the morning! Implement one or some of these 8 & you will be even further along in your healing journey.
It's a great day to recover from an eating disorder!
Tune in today friend. I hope you begin to set some intentional time into your morning routine. Thanks for being here sis!

EP 28: The Link Between ADHD & Disordered Eating + Transparency Into My Adult Diagnosis
Do you constantly struggle with feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you forget things, lack concentration or focus, or even find yourself distracted with daydreams & desires that you just can't seem to DO anything about?
Today I share with you my personal experience with ADHD & the self-awareness it gave me being diagnosed as an adult.
While it may seem unrelated & yet I never seemed to put the pieces together that my battle with an eating disorder could in fact have a direct correlation to ADHD, researches have discovered a link between the two mental health illnesses. In fact, statistics show that those with ADHD are at risk for developing an eating disorder 3 to 6 times higher than the average of someone without ADHD.
But what is the link between the two mental conditions?
According to Community Health Network, "A study showed that images of food stimulated the brain’s reward center at a higher level in people with ADHD than people in the same study who do not have been diagnosed with ADHD. In addition, the researchers discovered that this brain response could be why having ADHD increases the risk of developing an eating disorder.
ADHD is often associated with irregularities in how the brain interprets signals and cues from the rest of the body. For instance, signals about hunger become distorted in those with ADHD. This can make it challenging to know when to stop eating or the opposite.
Many people with ADHD are extremely sensitive; this sensitivity is called hypersensitivity. Hypersensitivity is characterized as being extremely sensitive to the physical senses such as smell, taste, touch, or even the surrounding environment.
As a result, A hypersensitive person with ADHD could have more difficulty eating certain foods than someone who does not have ADHD. This can lead to food restriction behaviors & binge purge episodes."
If you struggle with symptoms of ADHD, or you have been diagnosed, I truly feel today's show with bless you. I share my personal journey with you & experience of what it was like to be diagnosed with ADHD in my thirties.
Tune in today friend. I hope you learn, grow, & find freedom just by listening to this podcast.

EP 27: Shift Your Perspective & LET GO of Comparisonitis With These 6 Recovery Strategies
The first step to self-acceptance is to STOP unhealthy comparison.
As humans we are going to compare ourselves to others. It is in our nature to watch others. This is how we learn. But, if we look long enough, we will find someone who has done more, who has more & who seems to have it all together.
In the eating disorder world, comparing your journey to someone else's does NOTHING but rob your TRUTH.
In today's show, I discuss 6 strategies to help you stop the comparisonitis, so that you can start showing up & comparing you vs. you.
You have so much to give to the world.
When you are captivated with purpose, you won't be stuck in comparison.
Do you need a break-up with social media, so you can experience a breakthrough in your recovery?!
If so, this could be your saving grace.
I am so happy to have you here!
Here is your reminder today if you struggle with comparing yourself to others:
"You are God's Masterpiece, & He has created you a new in Jesus, which He prepared in advance for you to do!" ~Ephesians 2:10
Friend, stop keeping yourself from your best self. Stop looking around & start looking UP!
