In episode 71 of the Pacey Performance Podcast I am speaking to lecturer in sports science at James Cook University in Queensland, Carl Woods. Carl has published in the areas of talent identification, skill acquisition and motor learning. Carl was recommended to me by Ian McKeown and when Mackers speaks, I listen. Carl and I discuss athletic movement assessments and what he has seen between different sports in terms of movement competency as well as how he has assessed perceptual skills in youth athletes. In episode 70 of the Pacey Performance Podcast I speak with senior strength and conditioning coach at the English Institute of Sport, Ben Rosenblatt. Ben currently works with England hockey and late last year I attended a workshop hosted by Jonas Dodoo (appeared on the podcast in episode 55) which Ben also spoke at. I was blown away not only by Ben's southern accent but the practical session he delivered on the constraints led approach in developing agility. Ben wrote also wrote an incredible chapter in High Performance Training for Sports which was co-edited by David Joyce and Dan Lewindon. John is S&C coach for Irish Rugby and  Senior Lecturer in Elite Performance at the University of Central Lancashire having previously being the Head of Strength & Conditioning at UK Athletics. In 2012 John published an article in the International Journal of Sports Physiology an Performance looking at periodisation paradigms in the 21st century and it was this article which led me to reach out to John to come on the podcast.
