Josh Kopel | Success Is A Mindset
Joshua Kopel is an entrepreneur, restaurateur and environmental advocate. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he headed to LA thinking he'd find an innovative concept & bring it back home. It turns out LA craved some of that southern hospitality. Josh found success on the west coast in his creative and unique establishments that served up not just great food and drinks but one of a kind experiences, and that's what the customers kept coming back for. Josh also founded FLO Hospitality Solutions, a company solely focused on leveraging tech to bring more humanity to the customer service experience, not less.
This conversation was recorded at the beginning of the pandemic and at the time Josh's incredibly popular Michelin-rated fine dining concept, Preux & Proper was one of the many restaurants struggling to keep their doors open. Since then Josh has had to make the difficult decision to close Preux & Proper. However, like many of Josh's inspiring insights in this discussion opportunity presents itself at times we may not think are ideal, and the end of one experience means the beginning of another.
Michael and Josh delve into mindset, success, and the importance of culture at any establishment. Plus how the culture feeds the staff and the staff inspires the patrons, and the cycle comes full circle, manifesting growth and success. Be sure to check out Josh's podcast, blog and video series Full Comp, where he serves the hospitality industry by seeking out thought leaders from within and outside of the hospitality space, using their wisdom to help the restaurateurs survive the present and thrive in the future.

Mary Shenouda | Eat Clean. Play Often. Crush Life.
Mary Shenouda is Private Performance Chef, Entrepreneur and a master of the grind and hustle. She spent over 20 years of her life suffering with crippling migraines. We're talking pass out on the floor and wake up in a pool of your own vomit migraines. She spent years in and out of hospitals with no help from doctors trying to diagnose extreme food allergies and sensitivities. At 24 with a record number of ER visits from vomiting induced blackouts brought on from migraines, she'd had enough. She took her health into her own hands and discovered (after much experimentation) that a Paleo-centric diet was the key to solving nearly all of her issues.
She quit her successful career in the tech start-up world to pursue her passion for the transformative power of clean-eating—a passion sparked by her own transformational experience. Today she is dubbed the Paleo Chef and is a highly sought-after private performance chef to A-list actors, professional athletes, and high-octane entrepreneurs. She's also the founder of Phat Fudge, a high performance food line that sells out as fast as she can make it.
Michael and Mary recount her story of literal pain and struggle as she went through her life trying to diagnose the cause of her body's inflammation. Plus, how she's drawn to helping people and her 6th sense at recognizing the pain of others, and how she got Phat Fudge off the ground and turned into a viral sensation.

Brendan Fallis | A Modern Day Renaissance Man
At some point you were in a room somewhere at some event or some club (back when human beings socialized) and Brendan Fallis got in your head. He played that mix that got you to bob your head, shake your butt and get up and dance. Being one of the most sought after DJs in the world gives you that super power. Brendan has provided music for some of the most high-profile events and campaigns for clients across the spectrum such as Absolut, Audi, Balmain, Chanel, GQ, Louis Vuitton, Samsung, Taco Bell, and Viacom, among others. As if world renowned DJ isn't enough, Brendan has his finger in a lot of pies. As an entrepreneur his company Preveyor is a full-service entertainment management company with capabilities including talent development, brand strategy, music, film & television, branded entertainment, and a ton more. He's also a real estate investor and one half of a power couple being married to the incredibly talented Hannah Bronfman. Throw in influencer (don't worry he actually has an influence on his audience), a unique style aesthetic and digital presence, and that's a recipe for someone brands very much want to work with.
Brendan and Michael discuss his work ethic, where he started and how he leveraged his growing popularity as a DJ to get in the room with some of the biggest brands in the world, and make deals that grew his business and personal brand. Plus, his original passion as a pro skier and his goal to reach the Olympics. Also, the hard work he puts into his marriage and his family. It's a great conversation with a modern day renaissance man.
