THE FYX 011: Uncovering the Common Thread among Caffeine, Golf, Sequins, and Sweat with Meghan Trainor, Founder of the BBT Experience

Meghan Trainor, born a certified trainer, is a former professional golfer, motivational fitness coach and lover of all things sequins and sparkles. Since mid-March 2020, Meghan has created and delivered a new and unique live workout on social media almost every single day, with Sunday as her only day off. Yes, you read that correctly: this fitness queen is fast approaching nearly 365 new workouts written and led via Instagram and the occasional ZOOM. In that time, Meghan has curated and cultivated the Body by Trainor experience (BBT, for short), which has grown her social media platform from just a few thousand Instagram followers to more than 28,000--virtually overnight.  Meghan is the proud owner of 17 colored wigs, and reserves an entire storage unit for all of her dance costumes, which she proudly wears for her special edition Fireball Friday workouts. If these first two paragraphs haven't impressed you already, we've got more. All of THAT, is Meghan's part-time gig. Meghan is the BBT lead before 8 am EST and around lunchtime 6 days a week, but as for the other 20-something hours? She's a coffee sales gal. By now you've figured out why Coach Krysta HAD to have this female powerhouse on her show: fitness, caffeine, wigs, dancing... what more do we need!?  Meghan is a regional business manager for La Colombe Coffee and has been responsible for placing La Colombe's cans in the hands of clients like UMass, home of the largest collegiate dining program in the U.S., and Elon University, her alma mater. She so kindly shared the 27-year-old brand's most famous product, the draft latte, with Coach Krysta during the recording of this episode. We talked all things fitness and inspiration as we sipped on some limited edition and new flavors of the draft latte--ICYMI: La Colombe literally invented and patented the technology for the latte--foam and all--in a can. Y'all KNOW we geeked out on this one for our first few minutes of the episode.  Meghan's mission for her community, now named the BBT Clam Community, is simple: she is inspired to inspire through daily movement, spontaneous freestyle dancing, and thought-provoking motivational messages. In this episode you'll learn: - How the BBT Clam Community blossomed through COVID-19 - Why the Clam Community inspires Meghan to continue showing up each week - How coffee sales and fitness coaching have more in common than you think - Where Meghan finds inspiration for her workouts: she's a sucker for a fun, compound movement - Why everyone should pick up a set of golf clubs and learn the sport: HINT--it has taken Meghan's professional career to places she's never expected Fill your coffee cup, sip away, and get your FYX of Coach Krysta on her podcast. We know you're curious about all those wigs, costumes, and funky dance moves after hearing from Meghan, why only take our word for it? Head over to Meghan's Instagram @bodybytrainor to see it all for yourself. Take a peek at her workout schedule, which she posts weekly, and find a time slot that allows you take less than an hour JUST FOR YOU.  If you're interested in signing up for any of Meghan's monthly challenges within the Clam community, please visit her website: www.bodybytrainor.com. THE FYX 007: Tapping into your Authentic Self as a Coach with Biz Washko, Personal Trainer & Army Vet

Elizabeth, aka ‘Biz,’ Washko, is a personal trainer, future gym owner, and military veteran based in Maple Grove, MN—just outside of Minneapolis. Biz is known in the fitness industry for her bubbly personality, creative approach to workout programming, and her ability to make a profound connection with and impact on her clientele.  Biz originally planned to pursue a career in hospitality after an attempt to join the US Coast Guard—at the time, the organization was slow to accept females. After her first year of college, she discovered the ROTC program and decided to enroll, knowing that she’d always wanted to serve her country in some capacity.  Biz spent several years in the military and although she was never deployed, she completed several missions throughout Europe. She planned to be a lifer in service—until a medical diagnosis cut her time short. Returning to civilian life, Biz made her way into the fitness industry. Most recently, she spent just under two years working for Burn Boot Camp, where she led a team of trainers and staff to grow the franchised location at one of the fastest rates in its history.  Biz is now training 1:1 and semi private workouts in a home gym that she’s recently built in her basement, like many fit pros who’ve adapted to changes in the fitness world in response to COVID-19. She has plans to develop and open her own fitness concept, and the FYX chicks are excited to watch her grow. Tune into this episode to learn about: Biz’s experience in ROTC and the military The transition back to civilian life Biz’s perspective on competition in the fitness industry Establishing meaningful connections with with your clients & relating on a personal level The challenges and rewards in growing a boutique fitness studio Fill your coffee cup, sip away, and get your FYX of Coach Krysta on her new podcast. Webb was recognized as an elite trainer in Equinox's top 1% for all 8 years he was employed there, earning back-to-back Fusion Awards in 2013 and 2014. THE FYX 005: Beyond What Healthy Looks Like: Learning to Appreciate How Healthy FEELS with Drew Manning, The Fit2Fat2Fit Guy

Drew Manning is a well known Keto coach, physical trainer, and NY Times Best Selling Author of the book Fit2Fat2Fit. Best known for his Fit2Fat2Fit experiment that went viral, Drew gained over a million followers as he documented his 75 pound weight gain and weight loss journey back in 2011. His podcast has over 2.5 million downloads and he's been featured on TV shows such as Dr. Oz, Good Morning America, The View and many more. His experiment has become a hit TV show, called Fit to Fat to Fit, airing on A&E & Lifetime. Drew recently wrote and published his second book, Complete Keto, which is available wherever books are sold now. Drew is someone who takes fitness and health very seriously and shares compassion with people who struggle to lose weight. He believes empathy is something that's missing from the fitness industry: plain and simple—losing weight is HARD. But as you’ll hear from Drew on this episode, after two rounds of his fit2fat2fit journey, it’s a solid reminder that we CAN do HARD things. From his experience, Drew firmly believes that empathy is the key to understanding why some people struggle with physical and mental transformations. Most Americans don’t know the “other side” (the healthy side) because his weight gain diet has been their daily norm since childhood Fill your coffee cup, sip away, and get your FYX of Coach Krysta on her new podcast.
