Life in Complete Control

This week on the One Year No Beer Podcast Jen welcomes Ben onto the show.   Ben has just finished the “Complete Control” program. He had previously taken on the One Year No Beer challenge and after 6 months he was back to his old ways, however when he saw the Complete Control program he knew it was for him.   Ben owns a restaurant in Ibiza, which is one of Europe's hot spots for hospitality and entertainment and has a strong drinking culture as a holiday destination for a lot of young people. Mental Health and Trauma with Rebecca Brown

This week on the One Year No Beer Podcast Ruari speaks to Rebecca Brown.   They discuss how Rebecca is supposed to be an expert in helping people to deal with their health as she works as a mental health clinician, however she felt like a fraud because she could not control her drinking. Rebcca didn’t have a rock bottom moment, she more so realised that she was no longer able to have just one drink.    Rebecca’s life has improved in countless ways since she joined One Year No Beer and stopped drinking. She gets better sleep, has less anxiety, and she even found time to write a book. Positivity & Motivation

This week on the One Year No Beer Podcast, Jen speaks about positivity  motivation.   When you want to change your life you will need to remain motivated and one way to do so is by having an accountability partner who will help to keep you on track with your goals. Visualisation is another way to stay positive and motivated, seeing the goal in your mind will give you a sense of direction and focus.   Jen is aware that you can’t be positive all the time, but you should do the best you can as this will help to carry you through the tough times. You have to listen to your body, know what days you can push to do your best, and even what days you need to take a break.   To feel and perform at your best you need proper sleep, to eat healthily and exercise. The diet doesn’t have to be restrictive or boring, you can still eat the food you enjoy, however it is important that you are mindful of how eating can affect your mood. The same goes for exercise - you don’t need to go to the gym or work yourself to exhaustion, some form of movement in your week will get your blood pumping and release positive hormones.   Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
