JJ is such an inspiration and warrior for taking on your life with power, intention, love, deep self-care and meaning. I was moved to tears listening to what she had to go through. Things You'll Learn From This Episode There is no someday or tomorrow, you must own your health NOW. You are personally responsible for your health. It is the most important asset you have. Take care of this first as you never know when you'll need to face a challenge and your health will be a saving grace. If you can't do it for yourself or struggle with self-worth, find an excellent coach who can help you around self-worth. Pay more than you normally will so you pay attention. (Ok friends, if you are looking for a coach to work with you, I would love to be on that journey and/or can recommend some amazing other coaches) Choose one thing at a time to focus on with making health changes or losing weight. Use the principals of 'The One Thing' (see the episode with Jay Papasan as a reference on this book) and keep your eyes on one thing. Stay in gratitude, especially around the most challenging times. This will be a game changer and can shift how you feel about yourself and life. With weight loss, if you struggle with food addiction or addictive foods, keep the triggers out of your house and understand there is no margin of error. Eating, unlike drinking alcohol, is a must. Find foods that nourish you but don't trigger you. See JJ's cookbook for great ideas. *Share what you are struggling with or looking to transform with Julie at podcast@juliereisler.com. Ocean Robbins on Starting A Food Revolution With The Grandson Of Baskin-Robbins

Ocean Robbins is the CEO and co-founder of the 500,000+ member Food Revolution Network — one of the largest communities of healthy eating advocates on the planet. He has held hundreds of live seminars and events that have touched millions of lives from 190 nations. He is also the author of the bestselling book, 31-Day Food Revolution. Ocean is founder and was director of the nonprofit YES!, which has led transformational events for 650,000 leaders in 65 nations. He's a recipient of the national Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service, the Freedom's Flame Award, the Harmon Wilkinson Award, and numerous other honors. Things We Learned From This Episode 90% of Americans try to eat healthy but have no idea what that means or where to begin and are confused in general about how to eat well. Most Americans eat 15 lbs of sugar a year and get 1400 chemicals through their food (processed food)! Sugar (not including natural sugar from fruit) is more addictive than drugs like heroine, and hit your reward center in your brain giving you a rush of dopamine (feel good hormone). It is not your fault if you are addicted to sugar and flour (flour also has the same sugar like effects on your body). The best place to start is by taking action and making a food shopping list, getting rid of processed items and cooking at home, preparing food for the week. Sharing homemade food with friends, family and neighbors also creates deeper bonds and social connections. Getting at least 3 servings of greens a day can add 11 years of healthy brain function to your life...kale, anyone?! :) Ocean has served as adjunct professor for Chapman University, and on the boards of Friends Of The Earth, Creating Our Future, Tipping Point Network, Turning Tide Coalition, and many other organizations. Ocean's grandfather founded Baskin-Robbins, and his father, John Robbins, walked away from the family company and ice cream fortune to write bestsellers, including Diet for a New America, and to become a renowned health advocate. Now, Ocean is on a mission to transform the industrialized food culture into one that celebrates and supports healthy people and a healthy planet, and he's inviting YOU to join the food revolution. Ocean has been featured in: Time Magazine, Audubon, USA Today, New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post. And he's been seen by hundreds of millions in TV, radio, online, and in-person appearances. About the Book: 31-Day Food Revolution is a guide to liberation from a toxic food world. Author Ocean Robbins reveals the secrets the industrialized food industry doesn't want people to know, how specific ingredients and methods could be making people sick, and what they can do about it. And he shows how to use the amazing power of delicious food to heal the gut, lose excess weight, and lower the risk for disease — all while contributing to a healthier planet. In his nonjudgmental and down-to-earth way, Ocean Robbins meets people wherever they are on their personal journey with food, helping make small improvements that lead to big results. *Share what you are struggling with or looking to transform with Julie at podcast@juliereisler.com. Dan Casetta on Becoming A Champion In Your Life

Dan Casetta connects good ideas and great people. As a respected and trusted business leader, Dan has had a profound impact on thousands of entrepreneurs, leaders, and salespeople over the past 25 years. Throughout his career with the Vector Marketing/Cutco sales organization, Dan has been a one-in-a-million achiever and transformational leader. He became the most successful and influential field manager in the nearly 70-year history of Cutco, and his programs for leading and developing teams were integral in sparking the company's rapid growth and expansion. Throughout various roles with the company, Dan has coached and mentored top sales reps, managers, and executives, teaching skills like selling, leadership, financial well-being, and personal development to the company's top talent. Dan helps create champions both in and out of his Cutco business. His influence has extended nationwide speaking, writing, and hosting gatherings of like-minded success-oriented people. He's the co-author of "Success Starts Today" with Jack Canfield and "Cutting Edge Sales" with Jon Berghoff, Hal Elrod, and a Who's Who of powerful present-day influencers who started their careers with Cutco. His passion is in adding value to the world and leaving positive ripples everywhere he goes. You can sign up for Dan's blogs and get more wisdom from his monthly emails at www.DanCasetta.com and also find Dan and his videos on financial wellbeing, leadership and EQ on Youtube (search 'Dan Casetta') as well as on Facebook and Linked-In @dancasetta Things We Learned from Dan Casetta Being the best version of myself means constantly learning and growing and sharing this with others. Learning how to bounce back from challenges has been a major asset to handlling these situations like blips on the screen vs. prolonged downturns. The question I ask myself to help with any situation is "Am I going to die RIGHT NOW?" This question gives immediate perspective. The steps to becoming your most successful is through consistent incremental growthy, which eventuall explodes into exponential improvement. Whether you are in sales, have your own business or are looking for more connection with others, the most important thing you can do is find ways to add authentic value to others and develop genuine interest in others. Finding the balance between a successful career and family has meant adopting the principle 'work to live', not the other way around. Do What You Love can be a misguided piece of advice. If "what you love" doesn't add value to the world, it should be a hobby, not something more. Do something that ADDS VALUE to the world. If you can intersect this with doing something you love, that's ideal. But if not, do something that adds value as your career, and do what you love as your hobby. *Share what you are struggling with or looking to transform with Julie at podcast@juliereisler.com. Better Sex & Relationships With Intimacy Expert, Dr. Jennifer Gunsaullus

*Note: if you're listening with small ones around, you'll want to grab your earphones. Just be mindful that there is some explicit language. Dr. Jen Gunsaullus is a sociologist and intimacy coach, and is a national speaker on couples intimacy, sexual consent, healthy relationships, erotic play, and mindful sex. She has presented two TEDx Talks, is the co-host of the podcast Sex Talk with Clint & the Doc, and her first book, From Madness to Mindfulness: Reinventing Sex for Women, will be published in August 2019. Dr. Jenn has over 1.5 million hits on her In the Den with Dr. Jenn YouTube video series, and is an expert in the documentary on masturbation, called Sticky: A (Self) Love Story. Learn more about Dr. Jen and how to add more pleasure, body kindness and intimacy into your life at www.drjennsden.com. I enjoyed this super open conversation so much because I truly believe that we as human beings deserve to enjoy and experience authentic, loving and open connection, and intimacy with ourselves and others. Many of us can get caught in stories around body shame and lack of worthiness, negative past experiences and stories from our past that keep us from experiencing real and safe sexual, sensual and heart-centered connection. Here are some of the takeaways from our talk: A great place to start with your own sensual and sexual journey, especially if it's not where you'd like it to be, is by journaling about the earliest messages you received about what it meant to be a woman (or man), to be sexual, what your religion or family had to say about it, and anything you can remember that might have been a negative connotation. Rewrite your sexual story by looking at how you want to feel and experience connection, intimacy, and sex. If you struggle with being intimate with your partner for any number of reasons, create 'Happy Naked Fun Time' for 45 - 60 min, without kids or other distractions, where you are naked (or almost naked) and there's time to cuddle, connect and have fun without the pressure of sex. Start with at least once/week and reconnect to your partner in a space without pressure to perform or have a sexual outcome. Embodied pleasure starts with self-compassion and mindfulness. To fully enjoy any connection or sensual moment, you must be present. If you find yourself distracted or worried about a 'to-do' list, focus on the moment and your 5 senses. *Share what you are struggling with or looking to transform with Julie at podcast@juliereisler.com. Let's Talk About Worthiness with Rachelle Niemann

Rachelle Niemann is an author, dog mom, yogi, ultra-marathoner, writer, wife, and founder of nourishingworthiness.com, and is always searching for growth and adventure. She is the author of Breaking Free From The Hustle of Worthiness, which can be found on Amazon. She has been a student of personal growth for decades and has finally learned what it takes to transform her life into a fulfilling and connected life and she wants to share what she has learned. She is on a mission to inspire individuals to make the transformation from fear to self-love and wonders what can be possible if we focused on mental wellness over mental illness. Things We Learned from Rachelle Niemann It's crucial to learn to embrace discomfort, especially uncomfortable feelings. When you are feeling anxious, upset, overwhelmed or doubtful, ask yourself first where you are experiencing the feeling in your body. Tune into your body wisdom. Learn to release that tension in your body through deep breathing. In fact, just taking 6 deep breaths can change how you feel. Worthiness MUST come from within first. No one can give it to you. Ways to build worthiness is to celebrate any small win, shift or change and learn to tune into the inner critic voice that says you're not good enough. Start small and know that any small change, no matter how tiny it is, is worthy of being honored and seen as a victory. All journeys of change begin with that first shift. *Share what you are struggling with or looking to transform with Julie at podcast@juliereisler.com.
