Kriss is joined by one of his Austrailia based clients for this episode, who whilst training for a trail marathon up in the mountains suffered a significant ankle injury. As many of you know whilst out on the trails, help is not always near and after several hours she managed to hobble her way into the hospital ER. Kriss and Kate discuss her journey from using crutches and a moon boot, to being consistent with her rehab exercises, to then running her first half marathon since the injury. Ultra Trail Runner & Pro Athlete Lucy Bartholomew - "Stress + Rest = Growth"

Whilst many Ultra-runners progress to the longer distances at a some what 'more mature' age, todays guest ran her first 100km when she was just 15 years old. Since then Lucy Bartholomew has gone on to become a true ambassador and inspiration within the sport, with many impressive achievements to her name. But today's episode shows us much more than her results resume alone and rather how much of a well-rounded athlete and individual she has become. Kriss and Lucy discuss what she has learnt along her running journey so far, how an introduction to strength and conditioning at a young age gave her such solid foundations to build upon and her rather refreshing outlook on the sport that so many of us love. Today Kriss speaks with Menacham Brodie who for the last 9 years has been living and working in Isreal with the Isreal National Track Cycling Team helping to develop their up and coming talent. As well as his work with the track team, Brodie works with a range of cyclists and triathletes under his coaching platform Human Vortex Training (HVT), helping them to get the most out of their training. His coaching approach has a strong focus on the 'McGill Big 3' core stability method developed by Dr. Stuart McGill. Why aren't you Integrating S&C across your whole training year?

If you are someone who only strength trains in the winter months or during your off season, not only are you potentially skimming the surface of your potential but you're also risking having a very short 'race year' due to an increased likelihood of injury. Your strength training won't look the same all year round that's for sure, but if you want to stay injury free and performing at your best you need to be maintaining that strength base throughout the year, to simply support the intensity and demand you are putting on your body.
