Micro dosing your S&C during the race season
Depending on where you are in the world, many of you over the winter months or off season will have established some great routines with your strength work. The darker, colder days allow for more time in the gym setting, as the pull outdoors isn’t so tempting and the races are fewer and further apart. But what happens to your 2-3 weekly strength sessions once the race season begins? You’ll have races back to back and really you just want to be outdoors on the trails, road or track, leaving very little desire or time to be maintaining your strength work. We often get asked "What's the best exercise for XXX ?" which is a pretty difficult question to answer given the thousands of exercises there are to choose from. The truth is, this question is all based upon the individual and what they need to work on. Selecting your exercises actually comes after the results of your screening and testing process. We’re just a few days away (Sunday 19th March) from the official launch of our Strength for Endurance Fundamentals Training Course. The first of it's kind and we're so excited to bring this to you all. So, what is it all about? Brad & Radka Kahlefeldt - The secrets behind mastering training, racing & family life
This week Kriss caught up with not one but two highly successful and experienced athletes. Both Olympic Triathletes in their own right, they are a force to be reckoned with and seem to be mastering the art of training and racing with juggling family life and two small children. Kriss met Brad and Radka (Kahlefeldt) whilst living and training in Lennox Head near Byron Bay back in 2014. But fast forward 8-9 years and alot has changed. Long gone are the mid ride coffee stops and chilled recovery days, it’s all about maximising time and being efficient, as anyone with small children will know. It’s inspiring to hear how these two manage everything, did we mention they are doing all this alongside running a very successful swim school business? Brad & Radka kindly share their secrets to fitting it all in, how they value their gym work as they get older, the tips and tricks they have learnt along the way and how important it is to be setting a good example for their two girls.

Returning from Injury? Post natal recovery? - it's hard to keep a blinkered approach.
Whether you're returning from an injury, returning to exercise after having a baby or something else that has you on a journey back to fitness and performance, it can be really hard to stay on track. Comparison and external input from the media, peers or competitors can easily trigger us into thinking we should be doing things sooner, faster or heavier. But for those who have made the mistake of rushing their return to training and performance before, they'll tell you it's not worth it. Kriss highlights some top tips that he uses with clients on a weekly basis from being patient, to trusting the process and resisting the distractions around you.
