Dr. Yoni Rosenblatt: What is Sports Physical Therapy & The True Sports PT Difference

In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Dr. Yoni Rosenblatt, Founder and CEO of True Sports Physical Therapy, to discuss the TRUE sports and athletic rehab difference. Yoni and Dan discuss differences in facility design and layout, the care quality, collaborative team approaches, and so much more. Dr. Yoni Rosenblatt, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, USAW received his Bachelors in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park. He went on to complete his doctorate of physical therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Prior to founding True Sports Physical Therapy, Dr. Rosenblatt amassed years of experience treating in various settings including orthopedics and hand therapy. Since its inception, True Sports has grown to become the premier sports rehabilitation facility for athletes throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. Dr. Rosenblatt has completed extensive continuing education coursework in manual therapy through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy and has certifications in Advanced Techniques in Dry Needling as well as being an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS), the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Dr. Rosenblatt has experience developing training and rehab protocols for Division I, Olympic and professional athletes of the NFL, NBA, MLB and the PLL. He is also the Director of Sports Medicine for Israel National Lacrosse, and was the physical therapist for the 2021 Israel Baseball Olympic team competing in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Rosenblatt has also lectured both throughout the USA as well internationally including Canada, Qatar and Israel. His treatment philosophy is heavily predicated on supporting his manual interventions with athlete specific therapeutic exercise in order to treat a given pathology and prevent recurrence. Dr. Phil Plisky: Breakdown of Movement Assessment and Testing for Athletes

Phil Plisky, PT, DSc, OCS, ATC, CSCS, is an Associate Professor in the University of Evansville’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and is the co-founder of the Professional Rebellion, a community dedicated to helping physical therapists create the career of their dreams.   His mission is to advance rehabilitation and performance by inspiring those with the power to change it.  He does this as a faculty member, Director of Residency Programs, researcher, co-developer in Functional Movement Systems, consultant in collegiate and professional sports, and author at PhilPlisky.com. Dr. Plisky received his Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Evansville and his Doctor of Science Degree in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Dr. Plisky is a board-certified orthopedic specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is a NATA board-certified athletic trainer and a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Dr. Plisky specializes in sport and orthopedic rehabilitation and performance with an emphasis on injury prevention in athletes. His research focuses on comprehensive movement testing and injury prevention among athletes, military personnel, and school-aged children. Dr. Plisky’s fieldwork has garnered research grants in collaboration with multiple universities totaling over 3 million dollars. Alissa Czisny: Return to Sport following Hip Surgeries and Injuries

Megan McEvoy: Ice Skating and Fitness Journey, REMASTERED

Megan was diagnosed with a rare respiratory condition, laryngeal papilomatosis, at a young age. This condition causes the growth of small papillomas in the airways and requires regular surgical removal. It currently has no cure. Austin Jochum: Redefining the Purpose of Strength & Conditoning for Athletes

In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Austin Jochum, CSCS to discuss his journey and experience in strength training and how he has altered his approach in training elite athletes for improved results.  Austin Jochum is the owner of Jochum Strength - he first dreamt up the Idea of Jochum Strength when he was 15 years old and was told he had herniated a disk in his back from squatting and that he wouldn't be able to move the same way again. Being a competitive athlete and wanting to reach the highest of levels of performance, he dove deep into the field of sports performance to see if this was true!​ Through years of research, self experimentation and lots of trial and errors he proved alot of what he was being told wrong.​ Not only was he able to perform all of the movements that he was told previously he couldn't, he became a Two-Sport Collegiate Captain, All-American and Conference Champion. When his athletic career ended he knew that he had to get the information he had learned from this journey out there to All Athletes and Movers, to show them there was a better way to train. A way that increased performance, focused on the person holistically, eliminated injuries and pain and leveled up who they were as humans.
