Austin Jochum: Redefining the Purpose of Strength & Conditoning for Athletes

In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Austin Jochum, CSCS to discuss his journey and experience in strength training and how he has altered his approach in training elite athletes for improved results. 

Austin Jochum is the owner of Jochum Strength - he first dreamt up the Idea of Jochum Strength when he was 15 years old and was told he had herniated a disk in his back from squatting and that he wouldn't be able to move the same way again. Being a competitive athlete and wanting to reach the highest of levels of performance, he dove deep into the field of sports performance to see if this was true!​ Through years of research, self experimentation and lots of trial and errors he proved alot of what he was being told wrong.​ Not only was he able to perform all of the movements that he was told previously he couldn't, he became a Two-Sport Collegiate Captain, All-American and Conference Champion. When his athletic career ended he knew that he had to get the information he had learned from this journey out there to All Athletes and Movers, to show them there was a better way to train. A way that increased performance, focused on the person holistically, eliminated injuries and pain and leveled up who they were as humans. Since that point Austin has helped thousands of athletes and movers just like yourself level up their lives, move better, feel better, look better and get out of pain.
