Daily Puck Drop: Who do the Seahawks have their sights on for offensive coordinator? Luck of the Irish! New era for the Cougars and heartbreak for the Cougars!
On today’s Daily Puck Drop, it’s an old school short one with Jason “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore. Puck’s son, The Vampire, has a baseball tournament so it’s a Friday quick hitter with just Puck and Jim. Lofa Tatupu, PuckSports handicapper TroyWins.com and Chris Egan will be back next Friday. Puck and Jim cover Thursday’s great Notre Dame and Penn State game and wonder how in the world is Drew Allar considered some top draft pick? Candidates are starting to come out for the Seahawks offensive coordinator position….Does anyone excite Puck and Jim? Also, they react to what Mike Garafolo said on Thursday to Puck about the relationship between Mike Macdonald and Ryan Grubb. The Cougars introduced Jimmy Rogers as their new football coach and took a few and not few subtle jabs at former coach Jake Dickert. How did Jim and Puck feel he did?The Cougar basketball team looked ahead to Gonzaga on Saturday and got beat by lousy Pacific….Man, the Cougs can’t have nice things! The Mariners finally spent….however, it was on their own guys as they lock up their salary arbitration eligible players. “Hey, What the Puck!?” Bryson DeChambeau puts on a contest to hit a ball over his house, trying to get a hole in. Each contestant was given 7 hours to do it with a chance to win $100-thousand dollars!

Daily Puck Drop: Mike Garafolo, NFL Network: Longstanding issues with Grubb/Macdonald. Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic: Seahawks biggest issue is the front office
Today’s Daily Puck Drop got off to a delayed start with Jason “Puck” Puckett not being able to get the gremlins under control! Guests on today include: Mike Garafolo, NFL Network and Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic (0:00) - Mike Garafolo, NFL Network jumps on the show right away because he has things to do ! Or, he is taking his young daughter to the doctor…nothing serious, just the flu. Anyways, Puck and Mike jump right into the decision to fire Ryan Grubb and what direction they know will go in. Mike goes over a number of candidates that may be interested in the job, including Chip Kelly. Mike also describes that the relationship between Grubb and Mike Macdonald may have been one that was destined to end in failure from the get go. Pete Carroll is interviewing for the Bears job, is he a legitimate candidate for the job? Is Deion Sanders positioning himself for an NFL job by getting a team to draft both of his sons?(13:19) - After a brief visit with Garafolo, Puck apologizes for the late start to the show over technical issues and dives deeper into the firing of Grubb and going over all the rumored candidates that the Seahawks may interview. He looks back to last years candidates and it offers a preview into this years group. Also touch in on the Mariners and recap Wednesday’s conversation with Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times on the inactivity of the Mariners in the offseason. (41:28) - Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic joins for his weekly conversation about all things Seahawks. Did he see the Grubb firing happening? Does he agree with the decision? What candidates should the Seahawks be looking at? Mike cites the biggest issues with the team, offensive and defensive line. How much more time does the front office get since they haven’t been able to fix the lines?(1:21:40) - “Hey, What the Puck!?” Doesn’t matter who the offensive coordinator is next season if you don’t have improvement on the offensive line. If they struggle, it will be the same issues that has plagued this franchise for the past decade.

Daily Puck Drop: "System Update!" Rob Staton says Ryan Grubb firing right move. Ryan Divish on the Mariners lack of moves
On Wednesday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, Jim Moore is back after he was out sick on Monday and made his way down to Arizona to visit family. They open up the show talking about the firing of Ryan Grubb and if they agreed with the move and what they will look at next for their offensive coordinator. Puck brought up the idea of Chip Kelly coming back to the NFL. How culpable should Mike Macdonald and John Schneider be with the firing of Grubb? Lastly, before Jim leaves, they chat about the new Tiger Woods indoor golf league that debuted on Tuesday night. Some good and some bad about the new venture. (33:39) Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com joined the show to discuss the firing of Grubb. It’s been two weeks since Puck and Rob have chatted so there was a lot to go over, but the main topic of the segment was the removal of Grubb. Rob and Puck disagree on the decision, but came to the conclusion that Macdonald and Grubb simply didn’t mesh personality wise and if that’s truly the case than a move was to be made. But, as they have discussed in the past, when you have a defensive minded coach, like Macdonald, shuffling through offensive coordinators can be a problem and this will be a significant hire for Macdonald and Schneider. (59:22) Ryan Divish, Seattle Times, is back after a two-week holiday break to jump on and talk about all the great moves the Mariners have made this offseason! Wait, no moves have been made and Divish and Puck discuss what the M’s have in store with many of their options drying up. Will they trade Luis Castillo? What free agents out there can help Seattle? Are they players for Japanese sensation Roki Sasaki? How cold is it truly in Havre, Montana, where Divish currently resides?! (1:25:00) “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck discusses the Jimmy Butler saga in the NBA and plays a clip from Charles Barkley and the TNT crew discussing the drama. What’s wrong with today’s professional athlete?
