Monday’s edition of the Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett featured Jim Moore, who joins the show on Mondays, Wednesday’s and Friday’s.  John Canzano from JohnCanzano.com stopped by on Monday, because Puck is off on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Also, Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 and Tim Booth, Seattle Times, stop by for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast. Puck and Jim start off the show tailing about the Seahawks being eliminated from the playoffs and what the fallout will be and whether or not they view the season as a success. The Cougars have a new football coach, what do Puck and Jim make of Jimmy Rogers?  20:05 - John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com, joins the show to chat about the Cougars new head coach, Jimmy Rogers. Did they make the right hire?  Was the hiring of Rogers influenced by money?  Why did Jake Dickert leave Washington State? John offers insight into the decision and the current friction between outgoing university president Kirk Schulz, the board of regents and Dickert. Did Schulz purposely sabotage Dickert and his staff?  Cam Ward didn’t play in the second half of the Miami Hurricanes bowl game. Friday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett featured Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy, former Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu, PuckSports handicapper TroyWins.com and Chris Egan, KING 5. Puck and Jim open up the show talking about how excite they are for the Holiday Bowl, despite the Cougars being severely outmanned and having no coaches.  They are heavy underdogs, what are the chances the Cougs can pull off an upset?   It’s pretty quiet on the coaching search despite rumors swirling around Montana State coach Brett Vigen. The Seahawks played in a miserable Thursday night game but have kept their playoff lives afloat with the win and now need Arizona to help them out Saturday against the Rams. 19:45 - Former Seahawks linebacker, Lofa Tatupu joins the show to discuss the Seahawks win over the Bears.  Lofa shared his thoughts on the offensive struggles, D.K. Metcalf’s behavior, and the standout play of defensive back Devon Witherspoon.  43:15 - PuckSports handicapper, TroyWins.com joins us from his mobile studio (his car) to discuss the ballooning line in the Holiday Bowl, his favorite football picks of the football weekend and his “Lock of the Week” and his “Dog of the Week.”  1:01:11 - Friday Voicemails featuring former NFL head coach Jon Gruden, who now wants to coach the Cougars and is wondering why no one has called him about the gig! 1:04:40 - Chris Egan, from KING 5 joins Puck for his weekly visit to discuss sports, but more importantly life…Jim sticks around for the first ten minutes to check in with Chris and asks Egan why he (Jim) is so negative and wonders if Egan can help him out.  Once Jim leaves, Egan and Puck talk about his Pickleball Christmas, in which Egan received nothing but presents that were pickleball related.  They chatted about the awful Seahawks win, which was hard to watch.  Egan shared his thoughts on the changes in college football and why watching the Cougars in the Holiday Bowl will be tough.  Chris is over the holidays and has been over served and needs to go on a diet. Finally, Chris promotes his Prep Zone Holiday Special, which you can find on all King 5 platforms, celebrating all the great stories they did throughout the year in high school sports. 1:32:44 “Hey, What the Puck!?”  Puck wraps up the show with more detailed thoughts on the players and coaches for Washington State that have decided to stay and finish out the season.  As Puck points out, commitment is rare in today’s college athletics. 

Thursday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett featured his weekly guests: Mike Garafolo, NFL Network and Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic. Puck opens up the show the day after Christmas chatting about the Seahawks must win vs. the Chicago Bears on Thursday night and the current mess at Washington State with President Kirk Schulz, the Board of Regents and former coach Jake Dickert. John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com reports that Schulz was ordered by the board of regents to give $2 and perhaps $4 million dollars to the football program after they started 7-1, but Schulz withheld that information for WSU AD Anne McCoy and nobody can figure out why?18:43 - Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joins the show to talk about the Seahawks must win game vs. the Bears on Thursday night. They also discuss the coaching future of Pete Carroll in the NFL, are the Bears in play?  Are we headed to a breakup with Ryan Grubb and Mike Macdonald? Netflix Christmas game thoughts. Mike tries to answer what is going on with Riq Woolen.  What are the playoff scenarios for the Seahawks as they head into their matchup against Chicago and the help they need from the Arizona Cardinals.  Does Mike like the idea of Pete Carroll returning to the NFL and perhaps doing so in Chicago?1:17:15 - “Hey, What the Puck?!” If WSU President Kirk Schulz withheld money directed to the football program from his athletic director than Schulz needs to be removed from office immediately.

Puck and Jim react to what he said.  WSU DT David Gusta entered the transfer portal and his father is upset at Puck because he played a pair of clips from Gusta’s appearance with Puck a month ago where the defensive tackle said he would never leave and enter the portal.  Former Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu joins Puck and Jim to talk Seahawks football and their upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings.  Before they talked Seahawks, Lofa commented on the state of college football and how the current system is broken.  Is Sunday’s game a must win for Seattle?  Lofa weighs in on that topic.  Can Seattle establish a running game against Minnesota, or will they have to rely on their aerial attack against the Vikings?  Finally, the each give their Highest Performer of the Weekend, brought to you by 1937Farms.com.   PuckSports handicapper, TroyWins.com drops by to preview the slate of college and NFL games.  It was a good week for Troy, and he’s back to make you even more money this weekend! Before Jim leaves, they end his appearance with Friday Voicemails, where they hear from a Cougar supporter who defends Jake Dickert and Dick Vitale joins to bring some laughter to the boys after a rough week. Chris Egan, KING 5, joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly visit. Thursday’s edition of the Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett featured his weekly guests, Mike Garafolo, NFL Network and Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic. Puck puts cap on the Jake Dickert to Wake Forest talk to open the show. He plays a few clips from WSU AD Anne McCoy’s press conference on Wednesday.   Puck has come to the conclusion that Dickert never intended to finish out the season and that he was probably gone once the season started.  WSU DT David Gusta become the latest Cougar to enter the portal and now the Cougs have 23 players in the portal and 12 of them are starters. The Holiday Bowl will be a disaster. Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly visit to talk all things NFL.   They start off with a piece from The Athletic that details the absolute dysfunction inside the New York Jets facility. Aaron Rogers hints at coming back in 2025 and even said he’d be willing to mentor a younger quarterback.  Garafolo and Puck don’t believe him.  Michael Penix has been named the starter for the Atlanta Falcons and it was awesome to see where he was getting lunch when he got the phone call about being the new QB.    Puck asks Garafolo about who he thinks will win the NFC West….Rams or Seahawks??   Saquon Barkley has a shot at the NFL rushing title and he could break the record in the final game of the season against his former team, the New York Giants.   Intriguing game on Thursday between the Broncos and Chargers and the playoff implications.  Russell Wilson wants to stay in Pittsburgh and what will that cost the Steelers?  What will the Vikings do with Sam Darnold?  Lastly, Mike is hungover and it’s lasted a week! Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic joins Jason “Puck” Puckett to talk Seahawks. On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore and an emergency visit with John Canzano from JohnCanzano.com to discuss the departure of Washington State Cougars head coach Jake Dickert. Jim joins Puck for an hour to discuss the move and then Canzano jumps on for the final thirty minutes of the show to give a behind the scenes look to what transpired and what led Dickert to bolt for Wake Forest. Why did Dickert leave? The move obviously changes how Puck and Jim view Dickert.  Is there an understanding to why Dickert left?  Puck once again referenced his common line with coaches, they all are Professional Liars. Now that Dickert is gone and over 20 players are in the transfer portal, including 10 starters.  Do the Cougars have enough players to play in the Holiday Bowl against Syracuse?   Should the school even allow them to play?Canzano takes Puck behind the scenes to the departure and why it’s critical for Washington State athletic director Anne McCoy to move fast with a new hire.   John asks the question how culpable is the WSU Board of Regents?  Did the Regents make a mistake of not locking him up to a contract sooner?  Why did Dickert choose Wake Forest, a historically bad football program?  Canzano opines that Dickert was just fed up with the system and wanted a change of scenery.    Dickert’s abrupt departure calls into question his commitment to the team late in the season.  Was there late season collapse a result of he and other coaches not being full engaged with WSU?Finally, Puck wraps up the show with “Hey, What the Puck!?” College sports have been forever ruined. No turning back.  Loyalty and commitment are the way of the past.
