Quote of the episode from Dan: "new versus returning is, in my humble opinion, been kind of redundant for a couple of years now at very least."
Quote of the episode from Dara: "we'll throw the machine learning kitchen sink at this just to try and salvage this users metric"
---

Intro [00:15]
Topic [02:37]
Wind down [35:57]
Outro [37:31]
---
Quote of the episode from Rowenna: "you'll get away with it but if you are strict about compliance with law and strict about data ethics, then staying away from Google Analytics is the way forward."
Another quote from Rowenna: "a lot of the people in digital marketing that I've spoken to are just fine with accepting cookies, mainly because they're from sufficiently privileged backgrounds that the adverse effects are not likely to be inflicted upon them, so they're not so likely to be discriminated against by having inferences attached to them which confer social disadvantage."
Yet another quote from Rowenna: "all data is inherently biassed, the more you do stuff with the more data you have, the more bias effect there will be in the output."
---
This week Dan and Dara are joined by Rowenna Fielding "a warrior on the front line of the fight to defend humanity's rights and freedoms in an increasingly tech dystopia", and helps organisations stitch together technology, law and humanity to make stuff work the way they want it to. Rowenna helps Dan and Dara understand the legal differences between 1st vs. 3rd party, ePrivacy and GDPR, PII and PD, and what 'legitamite interest' is (or rather, is not). Listen to the end to hear Rowenna do a live audit of the Measurelab website...

Intro [00:15]
Topic [01:30]
Wind down [23:48]
Outro [26:04]
---
Quote of the episode from Dan: "This is probably the biggest single negative impact they've done ever since they've rolled out Google Analytics 4."
Quote of the episode from Dara: "It feels like a bit of a backward step because one of the biggest benefits I think when GA4 was announced was the fact that it was so much less restricted."
---
Dan and Dara are back, and this week are discussing the recent update from Google Analytics where they are now enforcing their Data API quotas. Since 7th November 2022, Looker Studio reports that connect to Google Analytics 4 data are subject to GA4 Data API quotas. Reports that exceed these quotas will break, and Dan is more than annoyed...

Outro [24:57]

Quote of the episode from Dan: "Google's going to do what Google's going to do and we'll be on the receiving end of it."
Quote of the episode from Dara: "just because you have been using UA360 doesn't mean you're going to need, I'm just going to call it GA4-360, you don't necessarily need it"
---
This week Dan and Dara discuss the recent announcement that the sunsetting of GA360 has been pushed back 9 months to the 1st July 2024. The news comes bundled with other new feature announcements such as custom channel groupings, automatic GA4 property creation and native bidding in DV360. Intro [00:15]
Topic [03:29]
Wind down [42:00]
Outro [45:09]
---
Quote of the episode from Ellen: "I think people don't realise that disabilities is such a vast group, you can't just bring one person in to resolve all the disability issues. You need to bring people in from, you know, a wide range of different backgrounds in order to understand the complexities of disabilities, because it's not just a kind of a one size fits all approach."
Another quote of the episode from Ellen: "Google Analytics 4 seems to be that tiny little bit more accessible in terms of the functionality and where to press and it's a lot more clearer of where to press. However, you still can't use a screen reader, which I found quite astonishing."
Yet another quote of the episode from Ellen: "It's quite surprising for a company like Google, especially when you know they're very driven in terms of trying to attract people with invisible differences such as dyslexia and autism and ADHD. They seem to understand the untapped talent that these types of people have, yet then they're being excluded from being able to access Google Analytics, which I find a bit strange. It's like, how are you connecting those dots? It just doesn't make sense to me."
---
This week Dan and Dara are joined by Ellen Cole - an award-winning Marketing, PR and Social Media marketer with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility in digital. Ellen discusses their experience working with invisible differences, and how businesses large and small can make positive steps towards making their social media and marketing more inclusive for all.

Intro 00:15
Topic 05:33
Wind down 32:55
Outro 36:14
---
Quote of the episode from Stacey: "I was looking at the SEO for my site and one of the queries that came up was “I hate GA4” and it was hilarious"
Quote of the episode from Dan: "it probably took me longer than I'd care to admit to really understand GA4 well enough to realise that it's actually pretty good."
Quote of the episode from Dara: "the business is only just about starting to understand analytics in general and now they're being told there's this new version of all of that data."
---
This week Dan and Dara are joined by Stacey Harper, a fellow GA4 expert and trainer! They discuss war stories, hidden features and the huge importance of a migration strategy/plan for migrating to GA4. And remember, never ever push the 'UA events in GA4' button!
