Adam Jackson: The Heart Of Men’s Work With Sacred Sons’ Co-Founder | EP 38
Today on Heart of Man, I am honored to be joined by Adam Jackson, the co-founder and Chief Vision Officer of Sacred Sons, a leading global organization devoted to modern men's work, fostering brotherhood, and promoting conscious healing.
Renowned for hosting transformative large-scale men's gatherings, such as Convergence and EMX, these immersive experiences bring men from all over the world together to engage in deep healing, personal growth, and authentic connection.
Within Sacred Sons, Adam has played a pivotal role in creating spaces where men can explore their authentic selves, cultivate emotional resilience, and embrace embodied leadership.
He's also the host of the Sacred Sons Podcast, where he facilitates deep and transformative conversations with fellow leaders that guide men toward authentic masculinity and personal growth.
Their work is rooted in the belief that brotherhood is the medicine and that men’s healing must be relational, physical, and grounded in nature.
Through Sacred Sons, Adam and his team have been actively guiding the resurgence of the father archetype—both as a personal guide for wisdom and as a collective model for leadership and responsibility.
In his personal life, Fatherhood has deeply shaped Adam’s own journey, inspiring a deep commitment to conscious parenting, meaningful relationships, and continual inner growth. As a dedicated partner and father, Adam strives to live with intention, harmonizing his roles as a parent, partner, leader and visionary with purpose and authenticity.
In our conversation, Adam and I dive into the philosophy behind Sacred Sons, exploring some of the key challenges he encounters that men are facing during their trainings.
We discuss the importance of integrating embodiment alongside relational practices to foster deeper trust, connection, and emotional resilience.
We unpack the importance of incorporating ritual combat, where men consciously engage with each other through the use of gloves as a tool for connection and growth.
Adam also shares his insights on why he believes brotherhood is the medicine, and one of Sacred Sons' core missions in reintegrating the father archetype—both within individuals and in society as a whole. And these are just some of the subject matters we addressed.
This was truly a rich and transformative discussion that dives into the heart of men’s work with one of the leaders at the forefront of this movement. Now, without further ado, let’s dive into this conversation with Adam Jackson.

Edward Dangerfield: Coming Home To Our Bodies & Embodying Sexual Integrity | EP 37
Edward Dangerfield is back on the Heart of Man as the first-ever returning guest on the show.
For those who need a refresher—or who haven’t listened to our first conversation which I'd highly recommend—Edward is a nervous system specialist, teacher, and the visionary founder of the Facilitated Breath Repatterning Technique and Breathwork Bali.
On a personal note, Edward has been a long-time mentor of mine and someone I’m incredibly grateful to call a dear friend.
Edward’s transformative journey began over a decade ago when he survived a near-death experience, finding himself caught in an avalanche. Confronted with the aftermath of Post-Traumatic Stress, he embarked on a journey to discover the wisdom, tools, and practices needed to heal and regulate his nervous system.
Along the way, he explored a variety of healing modalities before discovering the profound power of Conscious Connected Breathwork—a practice that would forever change his life.
With a deep calling to help others, Edward has dedicated himself to guiding individuals toward feeling at home in their bodies by reclaiming the power of their own breath.
After our first interview, many of you reached out expressing interest in one particular topic we touched on — the importance of men cultivating an integrous relationship with their sexual energy, and how that translates over to our relationship to others.
In this episode, we dive deeply into this topic, but we don’t stop there. Together, Edward and I explore what it truly means to come home to our bodies and address that loss of connection with ourselves. Within this rich dialogue, we examine:
What happens when we feel disconnected from our bodies
The ways this disconnection affects our lives and relationships
and an overview of steps we can take to reclaim a felt sense of being at home within ourselves
This was a profound and deeply enriching conversation with one of my favorite humans.
It fills me with great joy to share this dialogue with you and offer a glimpse into the many interactions Edward and I have shared over the years...

Max Trombly: Defining Masculine Leadership In Relationship | EP 36
Max Trombly is a devoted husband, proud father of two, and a passionate advocate for living with purpose, passion, and depth.
As a transformational men's coach and relationship expert, Max is on a mission to liberate the men and women he comes in contact with toward living lives of exceptional love and depth within relationship, as well as living from a place of authentic expression and deep fulfilling purpose.
In recent years, Max has risen to widespread acclaim for his straightforward and transformative approach, breaking down the complexities of modern dating, addressing the challenges that arise in relationships, and offering actionable strategies for creating deep, lasting connections.
Additionally, Max guides men toward becoming more powerful and authentic leaders, whether in their personal lives, their families, or their businesses, inspiring them to lead with purpose, clarity, and integrity.
Almost a decade ago, Max found himself in a situation that, on the surface, appeared to align with society's markers of success. However, underneath he found himself stuck in an unfulfilling marriage. Through a series of profound moments, he came to the realization that the life he had built was not the one he truly desired to live. He knew something radical had to change.
This ultimately led him to leave his marriage and embark on a conscious process of grieving, reconciling his past relationships, and taking full ownership for the ways he had disconnected from himself.
On the other side of this process, he clarified his desires for a future relationship rooted in authenticity and deep connection. This clarity eventually guided him to meet his now-wife and create the family he had always aspired to have.
Reflecting on this journey, Max shares:
"To go from the end of a marriage to finding the absolute love of my life and a co-created, deeply passionate relationship took a tremendous amount of learning, personal transformation, and determination."
In our conversation together, we unpacked his own journey of moving from an unfulfilling marriage to rediscovering a deep sense of alignment in his life.
We explored key themes such as:
The importance of grieving
The necessity of reconciling past relationships, and what that process can look like.
How we can approach the dating realm with deep clarity about what we truly want and need while refraining from settling for less.
What does itactually looks like for us as men to become leaders of our relationships?
Clearing resentments and navigating conflict,
The value of men's work and the lasting impact Max hopes to make in his life.
This is a conversation that you won't want to miss if you feel somewhat stuck in the areas of dating, but also aspire to lead your relationships better with a sense of commitment and purpose.
What I really value in Max is his unwavering commitment to breaking down complex subject matters and creating simplicity, offering a sense of empowerment, clarity, and direction – and this is something that clearly shines through in this interview
Let's dive in!

Nemanja Sonero: Mastering The Art Of Strength & Gentleness | EP 35
Nemanja Sonero is a relationship coach, mentor for men, and movement expert who's dedicated his life to inspiring the growth and empowerment of men and women worldwide.
Growing up without a clear model of healthy masculinity nor an understanding of what it means to be a man, Nemanja faced a challenging childhood, shaped by the profound impact of two wars in his home country of Serbia.
This eventually led him to venture out into the world in search of mentors and teachers who could support his growth and help him reclaim and nurture the parts of himself that had been hidden in the shadows.
Determined to uncover his fullest potential, he embarked on a lifelong journey of discovery, immersing himself in a wide range of disciplines such as martial arts, movement, yoga, psychology, personal development, plant medicine, and shamanism. From the jungles of indigenous tribes to the ancient philosophies of India and China, Nemanja sought wisdom from every corner of the world.
For over 20 years, Nemanja has passionately shared his gifts, teaching more than 70,000 people in over 1,000 workshops around the globe and reaching millions more through his online programs and videos.
His work is devoted to helping men and women awaken to their purpose, embody their natural gifts, and create lives filled with authenticity, joy, and connection. Combining his expertise in movement with coaching, Nemanja serves as a powerful conduit for love and inspiration, empowering individuals to step boldly into their highest potential.
In this conversation with Nemanja, we explore the profound impact that movement disciplines such as dance and martial arts—particularly capoeira—have had on his personal journey.
Using these practices as metaphors, we examine the interplay between the "masculine" and "feminine", the dynamics of "leading" vs. "following" and the balance between "stillness" and "expression". Nemanja shares how his journey with movement has guided him toward a deep integration and embodiment of these complementary spectrums.
Additionally, we dive deeply into Nemanja's understanding of masculinity and the developmental journey that men are being asked to embark on. We explore the value and importance of mentors, the need for men to build a healthy relationship with shame, and how we can come into right relationship with power.
And finally, we explore Nemanja's deeper understandings of relationships, including his philosophy on communication, how to lead through moments of trigger, and the practices that support cultivating a healthy and loving relationship culture.
As I've come to understand, at the heart of Nemanja’s mission lies a profound belief that we are here to live fully, share our hearts with openness and radiance, and contribute to creating a better world for future generations. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Nemanja, who, as I see it, stands as a testament to integrating both strength with gentleness.
I’m excited for you all to dive into this conversation.

Nic Warner: Are We Failing Men Without Initiations Into Manhood? | EP 34
Like many men, Nic Warner, eventually reached a point in his life where his only relief came from the act of numbing himself to the burdens of the life he had created—whether through drugs, alcohol, or pornography.
Following the breakdown of his marriage, he found himself with only one option left: to confront everything he had been avoiding. What began as a five-week holiday turned into a 3.5-year journey of healing and self-discovery, traveling across the globe.
A decade since that one defining moment, Nic’s commitment to personal growth has led him to study a wide range of transformative practices, such as meditation, breathwork, masculine embodiment, traditional indigenous initiation, plant medicine, tantra, and sexual polarity.
Through this journey, he recognized the urgent need to address the wounds affecting men but also the masculine expression that's prevalent in our society today. Nic now dedicates his life to helping men heal and evolve, empowering them towards a sense of clarity, purpose, authenticity, integrity, and confidence.
By now, Nic has worked with hundreds of men, guiding them to heal their relationships with themselves and others, rediscover the power of living with a sense of purpose, and embody their unique truth.
I've personally been following Nic’s work for the past three years, and I was immediately struck by the parallels between our journeys of healing and discovery. Both of us encountered similar stepping stones that not only helped us towards a sense of maturity but also provided us with an embodied understanding of who we are as men
From traveling the world and confronting our deepest fears to immersing ourselves in various rituals and rites of passage, we both instinctively sought to initiate ourselves into manhood, which became a central focus of our discussion today.
In our interview, Nic and I unpack his personal rock-bottom moment and the various events leading up to it. He introduces this theme of rites of passage from boyhood to manhood, exploring how the absence of such rituals affects men today, leaving many well into adulthood feeling ungrounded in their own sense of manhood.
From there, our conversation shifts to the power of men’s work. Having both explored a wide array of healing modalities and various forms of men's development, we both inquire into what would truly leaves a transformative impact.
And finally, we examine the role of relationships and the dysfunction that can arise when we as men have not fully embraced our rightful place as integrated men.
In our modern times, where many men feel confused about who they are and their place in the world, I feel that Nic stands out as a strong beacon in the fields of masculine embodiment, rites of passage, sacred intimacy, and polarity, thanks to his deep commitment to his own journey and his cultivated understanding of what truly works, so I am really excited for you all to dive into this engaging conversation.

Duey Freeman: Building The Foundations Of Healthy Attachments | EP 33
In the conversation around love and relationships, one topic that consistently comes up is our different styles of attachment and how they might shape the ways we relate to each other.
And while this is an important conversation to have, I often feel that many mediums lack the depth and nuance that this subject actually deserves. This inspired me to dig deeper and explore some key questions:
"What is the process of attachment?"
"Why does it play such a vital role in the quality of our relationships as we grow up?"
"And if there has been wounding or ruptures, how can we lead ourselves on a journey of healing and integration?"
With that, it’s my great honor to welcome a true elder to the podcast today, Duey Freeman.
Duey has spent many decades working as a licensed psychotherapist, teacher, and consultant. His background is incredibly rich, with extensive training in Gestalt therapy, equine therapy, family therapy, bioenergetics, and counseling.
Throughout his 50-year career, Duey has accumulated an impressive amount of direct client experience, surpassing 80,000 client hours.
Through this wealth of experience, he has developed a simple yet profoundly potent attachment model that helps individuals understand the process of attachment, the three fundamental 'nutrients' required from the point of conception and birth, what happens when these essential needs are unmet and how we can as well begin a journey of healing when we’ve experienced their absence.
This episode was especially vulnerable for me, as I share about my own journey of navigating a rupture of connection with my own mother. I open up about the traumatic events that impacted her life and how those events shaped our relationship. This is something I usually keep private, but in Duey’s presence, and in service to the conversation, I felt it was right to share parts of my story while honoring her experience.
Since our conversation, I’m happy to share that I've found tremendous growth and healing in this area, now xperiencing a depth in my relationship with my family that I had never known before.
Duey is a true elder who has dedicated his life to helping people heal and navigate the ruptures in their lives so they can cultivate the quality of relationships they desire. I am deeply grateful for the time we spent together and honor his ability to communicate these complex subjects with both depth and clarity, while embodying tqualities such as compassion, love, and strength.
This is an important conversation, and I invite you to fully take in the wisdom that Duey brings.
So without further interruption, let’s dive into this rich conversation with Duey Freeman.

Amir & Keri Khalighi: How To Build A Fulfilling Relationship That Lasts | EP 32
Relationships can be tough...
No matter how much love, care, or willingness is present, difficulties will inevitably arise.
So how do we show up when our core childhood wounds come to the surface?
How do we lead each other in conflict in a way that inspires connection rather than disconnection?
How can we honor our desire for deep intimacy & union while also staying true to our own individuality and sovereignty?
These are just a some of the questions that can surface in romantic relationships In my desire to engage in an open dialogue about these subject matters, I am excited to be inviting my first couple onto the podcast – with returning guest, Amir Khalighi ,and his wife, Keri.
Now, there are many reasons why I wanted to have both of them on the show. What I can share here already from my observations is that Amir and Keri have truly traversed the fires of romantic relating. Both of them bring decades worth of experience from their previous marriages. They were both initiated into parenthood before meeting each other, and both had to humbly acknowledge when their relationships were no longer working. Their realizations led them on their individual journeys of discovery and healing, which ultimately brought them together, fostering the marriage and family they have today.
And while I met Keri for the first time on the day of our recording, I’ve known Amir for over two years as a mentor. I’ve been continuously inspired by the love, devotion, and commitment he embodies every time he talks about his wife and family.
In our conversation I was drawn to hear about their failures, successes and lessons, hopefully inspiring and educating all of you who are listening in the process... Here, we dive into their journey—how they met, the phases they had to go through to create the marriage they have today. We also explored their perspectives on the challenges faced by the men and women they serve, as well as the struggles and lessons they’ve learned within their own relationship.
Amir, known for his work in "Embodied Masculine“ that reaches men world-wide and Keri, through her profound guidance of women back to their essence with "The Way of the Elements," are both recognized and acclaimed leaders in their communities.
I deeply trust you’ll gain immense value from our stories, insights, and the lessons we've gathered on what works—and what doesn’t...

Alison Armstrong: Healing Shame & Restoring Honor As Men | EP 31
Alison Armstrong is a sought after teacher, thought leader and the author of the best-selling books „Keys to the Kingdom“ & the „Queen's Code“.
For over three decades, she has been teaching and speaking about men, women, human behavior and relationships. Through her seminars, books, online programs and media contributions, she has been giving millions of people access to more fulfilling lives, loving relationships, stronger families and more productive organizations. By now, her philosophy and approach have been referenced and taught by many other authors, speakers, and therapists.
Alison's exploration of human behavior and relationships began in 1991 when she decided to study men in an effort to understand how she was, in her words “bringing out the worst in them,” with the hope of learning how to bring out the best.
Her success in understanding men naturally led her to study women's behavior as well, making vital connections between the two. As her work evolved over the decades, Alison now illuminates the human characteristics that shape the behavior of both men and women, regardless of gender, age, or upbringing.
She distinguishes the common human instincts hat often create conflict in relationships and communication, but also reveals how understanding these instincts can help us thrive in relationships.
In my conversation with Alison, we revisited the defining moment in her personal journey when she discovered that she was, quote-unquote, “a frog farmer,”.
This realization sparked an immense personal evolution, as she learned to bring out the best in men by recognizing how she was contributing to the difficulties in her personal relationships.
From there, we dove deep into how shame manifests itself in men, how they can find their way back to empowerment and forgiveness, and how to normalize their relationship with sexuality.
Throughout this exploration, Alison offered powerful insights, emphasizing that the capacity to feel shame is actually evidence of our sense of honor. She introduced a process she calls “Noble Forgiveness” to help men find restoration, providing a lens through which they can see themselves more clearly.
I believe that one of the greatest gifts I’ve received from Alison’s work is the release of the residual shame I carried for being a man and the discovery of the beauty within men and masculinity through the incredible ways she speaks about them. My hope is that you receive the same gift
Some key themes we explored:
Alison's personal journey of discovering how she was bringing out the worst in men
The defining moments that helped her reshape her view on men and she ended up bringing out the best in men
The difference between "caring" & "loving" for men
Men's relationship to shame & how it's created
Defining courage & honor as men
Healing shame & restoring our sense of wholeness through the process of "noble forgiveness"
Normalizing sexuality & redefining it as nourishment
And much more...

Alex Mischka: The Art of Connection & Attraction — Navigating Modern Dating & Relationships | EP 30
Often when I speak to men and women about dating and relationships, I consistently hear accounts of singles feeling somewhat dissatisfied within the current state of modern dating...
This also applies to those in relationships who wonder how to maintain that spark of aliveness and arousal when the honeymoon phase has fizzled out...
These are the very subjects I sought to address in this upcoming interview with my dear friend Alex Mischka.
Alex is a relationship and sexuality coach, as well as an embodied men's work facilitator. His specialty and passion lies in helping men and women harness their personal power on an embodied level and lead the realms of intimacy and relationships with a sense of confidence and sexual sovereignty.
I first met Alex over a year ago when we were both going through a facilitator program with our mutual mentor, Amir Khalighi. Since then, I’ve had the great honor of witnessing Alex not only in his professional life but also in his personal life and I've been captivated by Alex’s embodied capacity to lead his social interactions. In the conversation, he spoke about how his work over many years has moved beyond a paradigm of acquisition or trying to get something from someone—and instead the focus has been on how he can light up the world by eliciting a feeling of aliveness in himself and others through the art of connection.
In the first half of our interview, Alex and I dive into the realms of dating, addressing some of the challenges present in our current times and how we can create social connections but also reintroduce seduction back into our lives.
I deeply appreciated the reframe offered in this conversation: focusing on eliciting a feeling of aliveness and creating genuine connections
From there, Alex and I transition into the sometimes murky waters of intimate relationships, addressing the tension we constantly navigate between establishing deeper connection or love with our partners while simultaneously nurturing that attraction
What I regularly discover with clients and people I talk to is that they excel in one of these areas but struggle with the other. Often, this happens because we're not aware of the fact that these are opposing, yet complimentary disciplines. I found that once we recognize these nuances and learn to work with them, the people I speak to can step into their relationships with deeper confidence and leadership.
This episode is packed with value for anyone looking to strengthen their capacity to create human connections or re-ignite the spark with a current partner
Here are some of the themes we explored:
What are some of the current pain points when it comes to modern dating?
Reframing "Seduction" as the "Art of Connection" - and how we can consciously step into the courting process
Why embodiment is important and how it can help us within dating
Working through 2 of the main obstacles: Fear and shame
Why developing discernment with the people we interact with is important
When do we know as men that we are ready to step into a committed partnership?
Finding freedom within commitment
The tension between "intimacy" and "polarity"
What is the "Erotic Blueprint"?
Why focusing on nervous system health within the relationship is key to maintaining a strong connection
How we can embody our "dark masculine" as men from an open heart

Eli Buren: Embodied Leadership — Cultivating Presence & Depth | EP 29
Every man has the capacity to cultivate a depth of presence that commands and quiets a room...
A clear confidence with heartful structure and passionate depth...
And a conscious engagement with purpose that honors both doing and being...
An embodied wildness that transcends the walls of a home and the constraints of a busy schedule...
We are taught to achieve outward "success," but no matter how well you do, eventually you'll reach a point where something is still missing, where all that you have achieved is simply not enough.
Reclaiming what is missing requires a commitment to a new journey, a deeper exploration than most men are willing or able to make on their own...
These are the words you will find on Eli Buren's website, who is our latest guest on the podcast. These words beautifully describe the essence of what Eli brings through his work by leading groups and individuals into their core being, where pristine presence, powerful passion, and true purpose naturally emerge.
I first became exposed to Eli and his work at the beginning of this year by attending his 3-month Men's Container, "The Dojo," where we were guided into in-depth teachings on martial forms, deep meditation, and other embodied presence practices. These ultimately supported us in developing our capacity to meet our lives and the world with cultivated strength, sensitivity, openness, and depth.
From my first experience with Eli, I was awe-inspired by his capacity to command a space while also sharpening each individual in the room towards deeper presence, depth, and consciousness – so it's an absolute honor to have him on the show today...
This conversation came at the completion of the Dojo and served as an exploration around the importance of cultivating presence and depth, how this may support us in our lives, and what it actually means to lead our lives with a sense of devotion and agency.
We also had an interesting exploration around expanding range – whether it's from softness to fierce strength, fluidity to structure, or play to responsibility among many other valuable topics
It was an absolute pleasure for me to have this conversation with Eli, someone I see as a dear teacher and mentor, and I am confident that you will receive a lot of value from our interview together.
