Episode 122: Inside the Mind of an Olympian ft. Shane Hamman
This week, Kevin chats with Olympian and IPF World Champion Shane Hamman. Shane is a two-time Olympian in weightlifting (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004), a 9 time national weightlifting champion (1997-2005), and holds American Snatch and Clean & Jerk Records in the 105kg+ class. He also competed at the 1994 and 1995 IPF World Championships and earned bronze and silver medals in the 125+kg class.
Kevin and Shane talk about moving through sport as an elite athlete in multiple sports, goals throughout Shane’s athletic career, and advice for current lifters in both sports.

Episode 121: Transitioning from Powerlifting to Weightlifting ft. Caleb Williams and Josh Gibson
In this week’s show, Kevin hops on the mic with Josh Gibson from Weightlifting House to host USAW National Champion and IPF World Champion Caleb Williams. Caleb competed in powerlifting form 1995 to 2007, where he was a 4x national champion and 2x IPF world champion. After retiring from powerlifting, Caleb made the transition to weightlifting where he went on to win 4 USAW Senior National Championships. Carlos is currently ranked #7 all time in the -198 Raw division across all federations with an 1890 total (700 squat, 490 bench, 700 deadlift). Carlos has been powerlifting for 12 years, and has competed in a number of large meets including the Raw Unity series, Boss of Bosses, and the Kern US Open.
Carlos and Kevin discuss a number of topics, including their shared background coming up in the sport, Carlos’ training methodology, and how to create a good training culture in the gym.

Episode 113: Navigating a Career in the Fitness Industry feat. Jessie Burdick
In this episode, Kevin is joined by PPS lifter and powerlifting and fitness coach Jessie Burdick. Kevin and Jessie talk about their careers in strength and fitness, how prior jobs have taught them valuable lessons, and where they are now.
Jessie holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Becker College in Worcester, Mass. She held internships at various universities, and has been working in the fitness industry as a trainer and coach for 8 years. She also holds several certifications ranging from nutrition to most recently becoming a USAPL Club Coach in December 2019. Jessie coaches powerlifting, strength and conditioning out of her private studio, JBurdie Fitness, in Medford, Mass. She participates in the special Olympics community with a powerlifting focus, and recently received a credit as an adaptive fitness coach.
