Kyle Curtin on Running the Entire Colorado Trail in Record Time

487 miles, 90,000 ft of elevation gain, in a stunning 6 days, 15 hours, and 8 minutes. That is what Kyle Curtin just accomplished as he broke the fastest known time record for the Colorado Trail. To pull of this amazing feat, Kyle had to have an iron-clad mindset, a dialed in strategy, a well-oiled team, and a relentless focus on moving forward. And he was able to pull it all off in the adventure of a lifetime. Kyle not only planned and executed well for this race, but he also leaned on his extensive accomplishments in his running career, including top 10 finish at Western States 100, top 10 finish at Tor Des Geants, Course Record for Tahoe 200, FKT on the Tahoe Rim Trail, and many other wins and podium finishes. He is also a pro athlete for Altra, Tailwind, and Superganix. In this episode, Kyle shares the stories from the trail, tips to dial in your own logistics, mindset, and nutrition, and how he was able to pull off one of the best performances in ultrarunning for 2024. Heat Training for Runners: How to Feel Cooler on Hot Runs and How to Adapt

Running in the heat is TOUGH. We’ve all been there on those hot runs that just feel harder, slower, and well, hotter.  And since heat has a significant impact on our running performance, it’s super important to take the right steps to make sure your training is still solid, that you’re preventing dehydration and overheating, but ultimately, allowing yourself to perform to the best of your capability on the hot runs and races. In this episode, Everyday Ultra coaches and UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coaches, Joe Corcione and Liz Myers, chat about strategies to help you manage the heat while running. They also discuss how you can optimize your running performance in the heat, how you can adapt your body to better handle heat, and how to apply cooling strategies to regulate your body temperature. Kaleb Stephens on How to Progress in Your Running and in Life
