The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 436 – Mindset Monday’s – As You Pursue You Grow

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_436-TEM90A_MDM_8-28-20-As_You_Pursue_You_Grow.mp3 In Working with the Law, Raymond Holliwell talks about “giving your substance where it can do the most good.” This is based on a Biblical principle, in which Jesus cautioned others about unwise giving. He said, “Do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and rend you.” This means don’t give your substance (your time, energy, or effort) to anyone who can’t appreciate it or improve with it. In today’s episode, I’m talking about how this principle relates to pursuing growth in your business.  You’ll learn:   Why it’s a problem to think you can help everybody (and how this desire usually comes from a deep hole in someone’s heart) We need to find the “aces” in the deck of cards—in other words, find the people who not only need what you offer, but they WANT the benefits of it and they WANT to change People demonstrate their willingness to do what it takes to get the result they want by paying for it The way to move through doubt, uncertainty, or depression, is to DO the thing you’re going after (that’s the nature of life) Why we need to stop trying to turn B players into A players You’ll only get the result if you want it bad enough—you can’t sit around and wait for it to show up   As you pursue a goal or desire, you grow as a person. You enter into the spirit of that thing. You get excited. But you also need to make sure you’re pursuing the right thing and not getting caught up in trying to change the wrong thing.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 436: Mindset Monday’s – As You Pursue You Grow To get the success you desire you have to have persistence. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 435 – Full Throttle Thursday – Should Thanksgiving Be Cancelled?!?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_435-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Thanksgiving_Day.mp3 As human beings, we’ve evolved quite a bit from the first Thanksgiving in 1621, to the one we’re celebrating now in 2021. We’ve evolved in consciousness and awareness. Thanksgiving is a holiday meant to be about gratitude and giving thanks…and I find it deplorable that people want to rip it apart because of what they perceive happened hundreds of years ago. As a race overall, we basically came out of caves, practically animals. Humanity is advancing, learning through trial and error. As we evolve, we develop a hierarchy of values and ethics, which isn’t something other life forms do. I think it’s a big mistake not to look back at our former human relatives and cut them some slack, based on the level of consciousness they were at. We can’t condemn humanity for lacking consciousness in the past.  We shouldn’t look back on our history in anger or judgment; we should see it with awareness—as an opportunity to learn and grow from it. Today BT and I discuss:   What Thanksgiving means to us individually How humans have evolved in consciousness over time Why so many people are uncomfortable around the homeless (and how I wasn’t at a young age) How there’s freedom in not making your ancestry wrong   Happy Thanksgiving!   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 435 – Full Throttle Thursday – Should Thanksgiving Be Canceled?!? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 434 – The Amazing Power of Gratitude

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_434-TEM365A_MDM_11-28-20-The_Amazing_Power_of_Gratitude.mp3 All around the world, major societies have designated special days during which they choose to be collectively grateful. Practicing gratitude isn’t just a nice thing to do. It’s an extraordinarily powerful process that “keeps us connected to our source of supply” (a.k.a. God or the universe). You’re either in a mindset of gratitude, or you’re in a mindset of victimization. You can actually see this being played out over generations, where a line of thinking gets passed down from one generation to the next. You can train yourself to think with gratitude. With everything that happens in your life, you can pre-think, or pre-decide that your first reaction to it will always be gratitude.  In today’s episode you’ll learn:   Gratitude must be the “first thought” we have about everything that happens in our life Everything that happened in the past was 100% necessary for you to become the person you are today—and for that, you should be grateful We can’t create the outcomes we want if we’re disconnected from our source of supply; gratitude keeps us connected Any problem can be solved, and any circumstance can be redirected to the outcome you want, by having positive expectation Expectation is a powerful mental force—like gravity, it pulls things (good or bad) into your life You should never expect something you don’t want, and never desire something you don’t expect Gratitude is positive expectation    By practicing gratitude, you’ll start to grow through each problem that shows up in your life. You’ll start to see things completely differently. This can forever change your future, because now you’re seeing something at a higher level that you couldn’t see before. Gratitude opens the door; victim-minded thinking shuts it closed. So be grateful for everything.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 434: The Amazing Power of Gratitude Celebrate being grateful every day, starting here with these gratitude inspiring episodes from The Successful Mind Podcast: Episode 159 -What To Do When You Don’t Feel Grateful Episode 310 – Actionable Gratitude Episode 039 – Three Stages of Gratitude – Part III – Attitude of Gratitude If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 433 – Mindset Monday’s – Be Persistent

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_433-TEM90A_MDM_8-27-20-Be_Persistent.mp3 In order for us to create what we want in life, we need persistence. Most people don’t like hearing this, because it implies that things will go wrong. Failures will happen, and you’ll have to keep going anyway if you want to reach your desire.  To get what you want, you need to be persistent and have more certainty (i.e., faith) in your higher self than in your weaker self to overcome any challenges. This is especially true in sales, where you’re dealing with other people’s fears and insecurities on a regular basis. In today’s episode you’ll learn:   How I used to struggle with sales, because I was believing the prospects’ excuses on why they couldn’t buy  How I used persistence to have 100 sales conversations in seven days, and break through my internal barriers around closing the sale (once I did this, I never struggled with sales calls ever again) How I realized I needed to “be bolder than the problem” (i.e., objection) that the prospect was facing If you can see something in your mind, you can create it in your hand (like Edison did with the light bulb) Like a tuning fork, you must “tune” in your thoughts and actions to align them with everything in the universe to bring what you want into your life   In God Works Through Faith, Robert A. Russell says persistency and faith are like fire under the boiler; together they generate the energy needed for success. Most people don’t hold onto their faith long enough to realize the fulfillment of their desire. Their persistence wavers—and because of this, the universe can’t give them what they want. The law says if we want success, we must have faith and persistency.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 433: Mindset Monday’s – Be Persistent To get the success you desire you have to have persistence. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 432 – Full Throttle Thursday – Supply Chain Issues & the Age of Opportunity

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_432-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Supply_Chain.mp3 One of the interesting things that came out of the pandemic was that more and more people have realized they don’t have to work for someone else. After the world shut down, many people couldn’t do their jobs. Being forced to stay home for an extended period of time, they had to figure out other ways of making money. The great illusion was shattered, as many people decided to stop working at a job they hated. They realized they could do side hustles or even start their own business. Since then, we’ve seen a huge depletion of the workforce—known as “The Great Resignation”—where people are quitting their jobs in droves. There were 10.4 million job openings in August. It’s been reported that about 4.3 million people left the workforce and aren’t coming back. This is affecting every aspect of our supply chain—from stores not having certain items on the shelf, to new trucks not being able to be sold, due to chips being unavailable. Truck drivers are quitting, and we don’t have enough people working to move things that need to be moved.  On the bright side, there’s more opportunity now than ever before to grow a business. Opportunity is everywhere. In today’s episode, BT and I discuss what’s happening with our fragile supply chain—and what I (as a former truck driver) believe we can expect going forward.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 432 – Full Throttle Thursday – Supply Chain Issues & The Age of Opportunity Listen to more content-rich episodes from The Successful Mind Podcast:s Episode 331 – I Can’t Change the World but I Can Change Myself Episode 005 – Opportunity Disguised Episode 420 – Full Throttle Thursday – Finding The Truth in the Joe Rogan vs Sanjay Gupta Interview If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 431 – Do a Little More, Be a Little More

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_431-TEM90A_MDM_8-19-20-Do_a_Little_More_Be_a_LIttle_More.mp3 To expand on the idea of “giving your best,” today I’m teaching on what it means to “do a little more” and “be a little more.” It’s not enough just to be your best. You also need to “better your best.” You have to look closely at how you’re using your thoughts on a daily basis—and make sure your thoughts are tied to your purpose. As you do this, you get stronger in character. You build confidence, deepen your belief, and expand your vision. This forms the starting point for manifesting anything you want in life. In this episode you’ll learn:   Every thought you have should be linked to your purpose; otherwise, you can’t accomplish much of anything Being aimless is a vice—and letting your thoughts drift to anything other than your purpose brings catastrophe and destruction To connect to your “why,” you must ask yourself, “What is the reason why I’m doing ANYTHING?” People without a central purpose in life are “easy prey” to worries, fears, doubts, and troubles—which all indicate weakness of mind If you lack a specific purpose and aren’t conscious of what you’re doing, you open yourself up to being manipulated and conned by other people —because you’re not thinking By conquering doubt and fear, you also conquer failure   You should devote yourself entirely to the attainment of your life’s purpose—and never allow your thoughts to wander away from this. As James Allen wrote in As a Man Thinketh, we need to stay present in what we’re doing each day. We need to be conscious of our thoughts and make sure we’re bettering our best.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 431: Do a Little More, Be a Little More What does it mean to be a little more?  Start here with these purpose driven episodes from The Successful Mind Podcast: Episode 251 -Why Can’t I Find My Purpose Episode 061 – Building Killer Self Confidence Episode 319 – Thomas Troward’s Entering Into the Spirit: Part I If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 430 – Mindset Monday’s – Do Your Best

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_430-TEM90A_MDM_8-18-20-Do_Your_Best.mp3 Many years ago, when I first tripled my income in 30 days, this happened as a result of changing three things in my attitude. One of those was, I decided to “do my best with everything.” Most people, myself included, were programmed NOT to give their best, but to approach work from the idea of, “When do I get to be done?” “When do I get to go home?” “When is it over?” This way of thinking shows up throughout the middle class and keeps many people stuck. If you want to transform your life, you must approach your work differently. You must come with the attitude of, “How can I give my best?” In today’s episode I’m drawing from James Allen’s book, As a Man Thinketh, to help you do your best. You’ll learn:   How your thoughts impact your health and body “Unlawful” or impure thoughts and habits cause the body to sink into disease and decay The body is a “delicate, plastic instrument” that responds readily to whatever thoughts are impressed upon it Out of a clean heart comes a clean life and a clean body Out of a defiled mind comes a defiled life and a corrupt body The body is the mind’s servant; it obeys the mind, whether your thoughts are deliberately chosen or unconsciously expressed There’s no “physician” like cheerful thought for dissolving the body’s ills   In order to do your best, always remember that your thoughts really do affect how you feel. Your thoughts also help you attract the right people you want into your life—happy, healthy, and wealthy people. What does your best actually look like? And how can you bring that out of yourself? It would serve you to find out what that really looks like for you.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 430: Mindset Monday’s – Do Your Best In order to do your best your thoughts have to be in alignment. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 429 – Full Throttle Thursday – Dishonorably Discharged: Mandates & Our Military

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_429-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Veterans_Day.mp3 In the United States, it’s our right to openly disagree with our government, without consequence. People have fought and died to protect this right. Veterans Day was turned into a national holiday by President Eisenhower on May 26th, 1954, to honor those who have served in our great military, both past and present. In today’s episode, BT and I discuss what the Biden administration is trying to do to dishonor these very important people. President Biden has apparently said that anybody who’s active military who declines to get the COVID vaccine, will be dishonorably discharged. I served in the military many years ago, and I find this inappropriate, disturbing, and completely wrong. A dishonorable discharge is the equivalent of a felony. It ruins your life. You lose all military privileges and benefits. You lose your right to vote in most states. You lose the right to carry or own a gun in the United States, just as if you were a regular felon. When you go down the road of punishing people who disagree with the government, that sets a dangerous precedent. World history shows what this kind of mindset leads to. The Nazis didn’t become the Nazis overnight—it all slipped away gradually, over time. Germany slipped away one mandate, one idea, at a time. Russia slipped away a little bit at a time. All the communist countries and those with totalitarian regimes slipped away—until the people couldn’t do anything anymore. We can’t tolerate that in the United States. If we tolerate this, we’ll start turning into a totalitarian government. That’s how these things start. Our government does not get to say, “You have to agree with this, or you’ll be punished.” I want to state for the record: I’m not an anti-vax person. I’m an anti-mandate person. There’s something about the Covid vaccine mandate that concerns me and is extremely wrong to me. In my opinion, it’s a dangerous mindset. It can cause us to risk losing our rights and our beloved country.   We wish all of our veterans out there a “Happy Veterans Day.” We honor you and thank you for your commitment to keeping us safe and doing what you do.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 429 – Full Throttle Thursday – Dishonorable Discharge: Mandates & Our Military “Biden to turn ‘heroes into felons’ if troops refuse COVID vaccine mandate, GOP senator says” COVID-19 Vaccine Dishonorable Discharge Prevention Act Press Conference Listen to more powerful episodes from The Successful Mind Podcast:s Episode 128 – Break Free of What People Think of You Episode 412 – Who Am I? The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 428 – The Inner Game of Sales – Part V

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_428-The_Inner_Game_of_Sales_Series-Part_V.mp3 Are you looking for ways to boost sales in your business? Listen in its entirely this 5-part series titled, “The Inner Game of Sales.” You’ll learn tips and tricks to boosting your income in a short period of time. These tips will make selling easier, more profitable, and more fun. To get the best results, be sure to listen to and study all 5 episodes. This is part 5 of 5.   To get really good at sales, you need to have courage during your sales conversations. This means you need to be in control of what you’re doing, you need to be able to ask questions that might not seem very “nice,” and you need to be able to sit in the uncomfortable silence after you’ve asked a question. You need to be able to challenge people’s deeply held personal beliefs, and then ask for a commitment. All of that takes courage. One of the fastest ways to become amazing at sales is to get over your own resistance. You must first overcome any challenges you have within yourself—including any limited beliefs you have around money, time, boundaries, or other things. You have to get a lot of things straight with YOU first, before you can influence someone else.  In this episode you’ll learn:   A sales conversation is NOT the place to have casual talk about anything unrelated to the sale A person’s mind is highly reactive to any stimulus, so talking about something casual is a distraction In a sales conversation, your job is to ask for the commitment Questions you can ask to get a person to make a commitment to go after what they want What it means when somebody tells you, “I don’t have enough money” (hint: it has to do with urgency) Why having a value conflict in your own mind about money (or other things) will cause you have a “double binding message,” which will kill the sale You must always convey the “impression of increase” during a sales call, so that people feel like YOU have the answer to their problem Why you should never try to get the other person to “like” you (they’ll think, “If this person’s like me, then they can’t really help me”)   To influence someone else, you must first be able to influence yourself. How much do YOU go after what you really want (versus just what you “need”)? This concludes the 5-part series, “The Inner Game of Sales.” Be sure to listen to this series over and over in order to take your sales game to the TOP! The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 427 – Mindset Monday’s – Create Your Own Destiny

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_427-TEM90A_MDM_8-14-20-Create_Your_Own_Destiny.mp3 In As a Man Thinketh, James Allen teaches how our thoughts play a role in our ability to achieve anything. Everything we achieve—and fail to achieve—is the direct result of our own thoughts. Once you understand this, you realize YOU’RE responsible for everything in your life, including the successes and the failures.  Many people believe their achievements and failures are based on something outside of them. That’s simply not true. They often tighten up around the idea of taking “responsibility” for their own life. If you’re doing that, then you’ve linked that word—responsibility—to something you’re judging negatively. In today’s episode you’ll learn:   In a just and orderly universe, individual responsibility must be absolute; it has to come first above all else Responsibility is one of the most freeing things—it gets rid of shame and guilt, and removes the BS from your thinking  Your greatest power is your ability to choose: “I can choose to think something different” When you have a genuine desire for something, pursuing that thing is often essential to your next level of growth A strong man cannot help a weaker man unless the weaker one is willing to be helped—and even then, the weak man must be strong himself Before you can achieve anything, you must lift your thoughts above “slobbish animal indulgence” (i.e., survival thinking) There can be no progress or achievement without sacrifice (i.e., letting go of something of a lower nature, in order to gain something of a higher nature)   Every one of us has the ability to create our own destiny. We’re not held down, held back, or underpaid by any other person, unless we allow that to happen. We don’t have to change society to be free. We need to step into our freedom, regardless of what society thinks, because society won’t change in order to fix your problem.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast YouTube Channel – Episode 427 – Create Your Own Destiny Personal responsibility is the key to creating your own destiny,  Dive deeper into this concept by listening to more mindset shifting content from The Successful Mind Podcast: Episode 030 – Control Your Financial Destiny Episode 037 – Three Stages of Gratitude – Part I – Personal Responsibility Episode 302 – Desire & Destiny: One and the Same If you enjoy the show, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts?
