The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 489 – Full Throttle Thursday – The Slap of the Century: Will Smith, Chris Rock & an Unforgettable Oscar’s

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_489-Full_Throttle_Thursday-Will_Smith_Chris_Rock_Slap_of_the_Century.mp3 Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen the video of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscar’s—after Chris made a poor joke about Will’s wife, Jada. Will began screaming, “Keep my wife’s name out your effing mouth!” For 24 hours this incident became more popular than the war. Many people have asked me what I think about it. I think Will Smith is a great guy, but he’s so conflicted inside. As a young boy, he watched his father beat up his mother, and he froze in fear and didn’t do anything. As a result, he internalized a tremendous amount of guilt and shame around the idea that he didn’t protect his mother. (He goes into great detail about this in his autobiography.) That’s where his rage comes from. People are trying to make “the slap” about race, culture, hair (Jada’s alopecia), violence, women versus men, etc. But none of that has anything to do with it. Nobody is connecting Will’s reaction to what happened in his childhood. It’s the perfect example of how our childhood stories get played out as an adult. It’s very obvious to me that this is a classic replay of a childhood problem.  In today’s episode, BT and I discuss:   How violence on the outside is a result of violence on the inside How everything Will’s done in his career—and everything with Jada—is the result of him trying to resolve a conflict inside of himself  How people react to situations is based on whatever programming is being triggered in their minds Why the conflict is always on the inside—and when people discover their own humanity and who they really are, the violence will stop  How people could begin to heal if they looked at their own reactions as a reflection of what’s going on inside of themselves (a projection)—instead of making somebody else wrong   We should all be mindful of why we’re reacting to certain situations. Ask yourself: “What’s going on inside of me that’s causing me to react this way?” Every individual is telling their own made-up story about what’s happening—and justifying their own story.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 489 Full Throttle Thursday – The Slap of the Century: Will Smith, Chris Rock & an Unforgettable Oscar’s TSM Episode 465 – Full Throttle Thursday – The Power of Will Smith The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 465 Full Throttle Thursday – The Power of Will Smith Looking to take your mindset to the next level?  Be sure to stop over on The Successful Mind Podcast Channel on YouTube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere in your audio podcast feed.  You can now binge an entire series where David takes you through high level teachings around Raymond Holliwell’s classic book, Working With the Law.  If you’re ready to take the next step in exploring the Universal Laws and mindset it requires to be a huge success you’ll want to check this series out. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 488 – Challenge Yourself To Become Great

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_488-TEM90B_MDM_01-17-21-Challenge_Yourself_to_Become_Great.mp3 Many years ago, when I was just starting my career, I was working with Bob Proctor and attending his seminars. After a seminar ended, most people would run to the pool to relax, while I would go up to my hotel room and make sales calls. I took the work way more seriously than most of my peers did. In business, you’re responsible for everything. You must be able to identify opportunities and know how to build off of them. You must take your skill level to a place that’s above and beyond what anyone else is willing to do, so that you become irreplaceable. Most people don’t take this responsibility seriously enough. People want to live an extraordinary life—but they don’t want to do what it takes to get there. Yet they’ll BS themselves into thinking they’ve done the work. In today’s episode you’ll learn:   You could have an extraordinary life if you do something amazing with the opportunity right in front of you There are no days off in business —you can’t skate through the day (there’s no time, and the ramifications are too huge) Sales is the foundation of everything in business  How I committed to myself by saying, “I’m not going to stop—there won’t be a day when I don’t do what’s necessary” How Richard Branson started an airline from nothing, and now works with the best people on the planet—because of who he is Why you must constantly learn something new, or else your company won’t grow    Plus, I share how I started selling in every circumstance imaginable, so that I could prove that excuses weren’t real, and anyone can sell in any situation. I made sales in the bathroom. I sold to a cop who was about to give me a ticket. I sold on Christmas day. I even sold to Steph Tuss (who’s now my CEO) in the elevator. I had to prove to myself that I could it, so that I could lead others to do the same.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 488: Challenge Yourself To Become Great Be sure to join David over on You Tube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere near your audio podcast feed. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 487 – Mindset Monday’s – You Can Move Mountains

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_487-TEM90B_MDM_01-19-21-You_Can_Move_Mountains.mp3 I’m glad we all get to experience the chaos that’s happening in the world today, because it’s such a great teaching point for keeping your head straight and staying focused. Napoleon Bonaparte was known for his intense ability to focus. He broke through so many things that nobody thought was even possible. From his life, we can learn that, “If you focus past a problem, it must give way.” Problems are mountains that can be removed from your life if you have faith as small as a mustard seed.  In today’s episode I’m teaching on the various components of focus (including trust)—and diving into Neville Goddard book, At Your Command. You’ll learn:   We all have an incredible power to choose, which also means we can choose what we focus on Why we must have faith in the unseen—because without faith, it’s impossible to realize anything Our desires are “a promise” from God—and we shouldn’t be worried or concerned about HOW our desires will happen Even the best marketers don’t know who will buy from them (or how those people will find them), but they’re doing their best to put out their marketing content into the world to reach people (through faith) “Man distorts the gifts of God through his lack of faith”   Through our use of faith, we can create a new heaven on earth. But to do this, we need to focus and not get distracted.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 487: Mindset Monday’s – You Can Move Mountains Be sure to stop over on The Successful Mind Podcast Channel on YouTube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere in your audio podcast feed.  We’ve already dropped several episodes in the series where David takes you through high level teachings around Raymond Holliwell’s classic book, Working With the Law.  If you’re ready to take the next step in exploring the Universal Laws and mindset it requires to be a huge success you’ll want to check this series out. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 486 – Full Throttle Thursday – Sadhguru & The Journey to Save Our Soil

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_486-FTT_Sadhguru_Save_Soil.mp3 Sadhguru is embarking on a 100-day motorcycle ride through Europe and the Middle East to promote his “Save the Soil” movement. He’s bringing awareness to soil and how important it is to life itself, because everything—including our ability to grow food—comes from the soil. At age 65, he’ll cover 18,600 miles on his journey. He’ll meet with celebrities, environmentalists, and influencers throughout Europe and India. Although “dirt” is a new topic for me, I’m fascinated by what I’ve learned so far. Today BT and I discuss our perspectives on what Sadhguru is doing to save the soil.  In this episode you’ll learn:   How our soil is apparently degrading to the point where it may someday become “sand” (like the desert) with no organic material in it How the entire world could be in civil wars by 2030-2035, because there won’t be any food, due to the soil not being rich enough to grow any food How our government only gets interested in certain issues, based on where it’s getting its funding from What I heard about Bill Gates buying up the world’s farmland How some big industries wouldn’t be needed anymore if we fixed our soil in the right way Why the soil problem will most likely be solved by entrepreneurship (unless there’s something corrupt going on)   While the government wants to get rid of all gasoline vehicles and switch everything to electric—solving our soil problem would solve the “carbon emissions” problem. I encourage you to check out Sadhguru’s website and learn more about this important topic.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 486: Full Throttle Thursday – Sadhguru & The Save Soil Journey Save Soil The Joe Rogan Experience Episode #1791 – Sadhguru  Looking to take your mindset to the next level?  Be sure to stop over on The Successful Mind Podcast Channel on YouTube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere in your audio podcast feed.  We’ve already dropped several episodes in the series where David takes you through high level teachings around Raymond Holliwell’s classic book, Working With the Law.  If you’re ready to take the next step in exploring the Universal Laws and mindset it requires to be a huge success you’ll want to check this series out. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 485 – Psychological Reciprocity: The Genius Is In the Bag

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_485-TEM90B_MDM_01-15-21-Psychological_Reciiprocity.mp3 Decades ago, we used “psychological reciprocity” at Bob Proctor’s seminars to sell out products at the back of the room. We did this by giving away free bags—and we were amazed at the results. The psychological law of reciprocity says that when you induce certain feelings in a person, they’re programmed to automatically respond in a grateful way of some kind. If you give them something, very often they feel compelled (in a good way) to give something back.  If you want to see your sales go up dramatically, there are two things to consider: psychological reciprocity, and how to handle objections. You’ll also want to be able to determine whether an objection is real, or just an excuse.  In today’s episode you’ll learn:   Why using psychological reciprocity in your sales or marketing makes people feel special—and will increase your sales The 2 types of objections in a sales conversation—“psychological blocks” (when a person convinces themselves not to move forward) and circumstantial objections (like, “I don’t have the time or money”) How to figure out if an objection is real or just an excuse—and why you shouldn’t try to solve a problem that isn’t real How asking a “split question” gets you to the true answer with 98% of the people you talk to (because the human brain cannot think about two things at the same time) Once your industry finds out that something is working with psychological reciprocity, everyone will start doing it—and then it’ll stop working A sales professional does not get agitated; they don’t feel threatened or take anything personally that happens in a sales conversation   Your belief as a salesperson needs to be rock solid. You must understand human behavior and the nature of human beings. It’s your job to get better—and to ask better questions to help bring clarity to the other person during a sales call.  Your belief in why they CAN do something, needs to be more solid than their belief in why they can’t. Otherwise, they’re going to convince themselves not to do it. That’s human nature.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 485: Psychological Reciprocity: The Genius is in the Bag Be sure to join David over on You Tube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere near your audio podcast feed. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 483 – Full Throttle Thursday – Here’s The Thing About Luck…

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_483-FTT_Lucky.mp3 In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’re diving into the topic of “luck.”  What makes some people have good fortune or bad fortune? Is there a scientific process behind it, or is it all just pure superstition? Many years ago, I was sucked through the dam on the Illinois River. People told me I was “lucky” to survive. But I don’t believe it was luck. It was the cause and effect of certain events happening on the river. We have an insatiable need to give meaning to everything. We’ll even look for meaning where it doesn’t exist. Our mind is constantly looking for patterns, recognizing what’s happening around us. Our brain is always putting things together, based on whether we want to repeat or avoid certain experiences. In today’s episode BT and I discuss:   Why so many extremely successful people say that “luck” contributed to their success Why I believe luck is the result of your BELIEF—i.e., you either believe you have good fortune, or you believe you have bad fortune Why working class, broke people often spend their welfare checks on slot machines, while holding “lucky” monkeys, rabbit’s feet, and chains How casinos in Vegas use a “cooler” to disrupt you if you’re winning—because they understand that your vibrational pattern affects what’s happening How I win at roulette, because I’m not emotionally attached to the money, and I recognize the patterns they use to try to throw you off (like switching the dealer when you’re winning) How our mind operates on frequencies—and our belief controls the vibration at which we’re thinking and being How Michael Jordan wore his “lucky” North Carolina Tar heels practice shorts under his Bulls shorts and went back to his “lucky” number 23 after retiring   Plus, I share the story of how my daughter, Erin, became “really lucky” starting when she was a child—with a 10-year streak of winning incredible amounts of money. If you focus on good fortune, you’ll get more of it, because of the vibration you’re sending out. If you’re constantly saying “I’m unlucky,” that’s the energy you’re putting out there.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 483: Full Throttle Thursday – Here’s The Thing About Luck… Looking to take your mindset to the next level?  Be sure to stop over on The Successful Mind Podcast Channel on YouTube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere in your audio podcast feed.  We’ve already dropped several episodes in the series where David takes you through high level teachings around Raymond Holliwell’s classic book, Working With the Law.  If you’re ready to take the next step in exploring the Universal Laws and mindset it requires to be a huge success you’ll want to check this series out. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 482 – Cash Flow Killers – 4 Ways You’re Letting Success Pass You By – Part II

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_482-Cash_Flow_Killers-Part_II.mp3 Today I’m teaching on the remaining two of the 4 major cash flow killers in business: #3 – The middle class mindset #4 – Indecision  The middle class mindset is based on the idea of “safety.” As children, we’re taught to tiptoe through life, make it safely to death, and avoid all risk. We’re NOT taught how to step into our purpose or create a magnificent life. Because of this, the middle class mindset is like a prison cell that most people can’t ever get out of. Most people aren’t programmed to see opportunity—all they see is risk, danger, anxiety, nervousness, judgment, shame, or guilt around spending money In this episode you’ll learn:   “What entrepreneurs get paid for, the middle class get shamed for” In order to make money, you have to change in a good way To become wealthy, you must put good out into the world We’re not taught how to make decisions; we’re taught how to follow what we’re told to do and be obedient little children Your biggest cash flow to killer is YOU not making a decision to do something different  The truth of the universe is abundance, not lack   If you want to break out of the middle class mindset, you need to learn to be comfortable taking risks. If you make a wrong decision, you can always make a different decision.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 482: Cash Flow KIllers: 4 Ways You’re Letting Success Pass You By – Part II Be sure to join David over on You Tube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere near your audio podcast feed. The Successful Mind Podcast – Episode 481 – Cash Flow Killers – 4 Ways You’re Letting Success Pass You By – Part I

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_481-Cash_Flow_Killers-Part_I.mp3 Many business owners are inadvertently stifling and restricting the cash flow of their business. In working with thousands of entrepreneurs over the past several years, I’ve found that there are 4 key ways you might be letting success slip by you. These are major cash flow killers.  In today’s episode, I’m teaching on two of the four ways: #1 – Codependency—which means you’re reliant on others to get your needs met  (emotional needs, financial needs, and other needs).  #2 – Using hope as a strategy for growth. Codependency shows up in the following ways: You think and feel responsible for other people’s thoughts, actions, choices, wants, needs, wellbeing (or lack thereof), and their ultimate destiny—and you feel like you have to fix them. You feel anxiety, pity, and guilt when other people have a problem—and you take on their dysfunctional story. You feel compelled to help a person solve a problem, or rescue them. You offer unwanted advice and suggestions, due to feeling inadequate and wanting to feel important. You try to fix a person’s feelings—and therefore, you’re not focused on where you’re growing. You feel angry when your help isn’t effective—you take it personally, start self-judging, or self-shaming. You try to please other people instead of yourself. This leads to you NOT showing up as a whole, healthy individual who’s giving all of yourself to another person. You find it easier to feel or express anger about injustices done to others rather than injustices that are done to yourself. You feel safest when giving in a way that’s not healthy (think: giving with conditions or giving in a manipulative way). You feel insecure and guilty when somebody gives something to you. You feel sad because you spend your whole life giving to other people and nobody gives to you. (That’s actually a receiving problem where you don’t feel worthy of receiving something.)   Meanwhile, using hope as a strategy is also a cash flow killer. Instead of using the law of cause and effect to grow your business, you use wishful (or magical) thinking, while “hoping” that something will happen in your favor.   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 481: Cash Flow KIllers: 4 Ways You’re Letting Success Pass You By – Part I Be sure to join David over on You Tube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere near your audio podcast feed. https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_480-FTT_CantCancelRogan.mp3 The more successful you become, the more you open yourself up to trolls, criticism, and even being canceled. In this age of cancel culture, anyone can find themselves being canceled at any time for any reason. When that happens, it can feel like the whole world is coming after you. It’s intense—but really, it’s just a few people. It usually gets magnified by the media. Joe Rogan’s audience exploded over the past few years, reaching millions of people on Spotify. The media has tried to cancel him, but he refuses to give in. After he posted an apology on Instagram—Samuel L. Jackson suddenly spoke up about how “comfortable” Rogan seemed to be using a particular racial slur. Once again, the news media has blown this up, as a way to try to bring Rogan down again.  In today’s episode, BT and I discuss: Why I think Samuel L. Jackson’s response to Joe Rogan was ridiculous and probably strategic How cancel culture is no different than schoolyard bullying  The way the media uses click bait headlines to overcome a slow news cycle How the news makes money off selling you a story about the destruction of a human being or the potential destruction of a human being How Joe Rogan stood up to cancel culture and became one of the largest voices in the world if not THE largest There are no perfect people. Everyone makes mistakes. Being criticized is never about you. It’s about the people criticizing you. You just have to stand up, own what you’re doing, and not let yourself be bullied. They can only cancel you if you allow yourself to be canceled. Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 480: Full Throttle Thursday – Hell No, Joe Won’t Go… Samuel L.
