Ep 17-Andres Pellegrini: Creativity, Integration and the Future of Male Specific Trauma Work

In this rich conversation with my friend Andres Pellegrini we explore the deep relationships between trauma, creativity and meaning. We flow through natural and musical metaphors to express the way in which our own journeys with trauma have demanded and afforded the discovery of beauty, meaning and connection. Andres is the host of the Future of Male-Specific Trauma Work-a network of mens groups exploring trauma through relational practice and flow, he also has a one-to-one practice and is a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing. In 2014 he published book Heilung auf tiefster Ebene – Dem sexuellen Missbrauch ein Ende setzen“ (Healing on the Deepest Level – Ending the Sexual Abuse). Ep.16 Dr.Gregg Henriques: Our Mental Health Crisis, The Tree of Knowledge, Forbidden Fruit & Cannabis

Really Enjoyed this first conversation with Psychology Professor Gregg Henriques. We talked about his experience leading a clinical program for recent suicide attempters and our broader Mental Health Crisis. As well as this we explore some of his Unified Theory of Knowledge and how it helped him predict a 'Cambrian explosion' in Culture in the 21st Century. The conversation really got flowing as we talked about the cognitive function of cannabis and played with re-imagining the myth of Eden.   Dr. Gregg Henriques is Professor of Graduate Psychology at James Madison University and Founder of the Theory Of Knowledge Society. He is in ongoing dialogues with John Vervaeke and Jordan Hall exploring responses to the Metacrisis.   Jacob Kishere is a Conversational Artist on a walk through the emergent landscape. Fractal Dialogues w/Joseph Pickens pt.1

This new series with my friend Joseph Pickens is an experiment in taking risks; exploring raw ideas at the edge of our understanding in weekly dialogues. We don't know where it's going but we're very excited for the journey.  The first part proved to be a playfully self-aware and poetic dialogos. Joseph and I explored wisdom, the nature of insight and the recurrence  of fractal branching patterns in biology, language, the psychedelic experience, spirituality, trauma and logos. Stay tuned for some beautiful poetry on fractals and being.   Jacob Kishere is a Conversational Artist on a walk through the emergent landscape. Ep.15-John Vervaeke: Artful Dialectic, The Logos of Trauma & Significance of Branching Patterns

A delightful conversation with John Vervaeke who has worked deeply both in and out of the academy to understand and respond to 'the meaning crisis' through the art of dialectic. In  our conversation we explore why this practice can be a fountainhead of meaningfulness, insight and intimacy that confounds nihilism.  Vervaeke argues that when debate has broken down we must move into the unknown terrain of dialectic to rebuild trust, wonder and 'higher order truths'. We play around my work on the landscape trauma and deep nature relatedness to consider a new proposition what is the logos of trauma and how does it relate to the logos of nature?  ~This was our Second Conversation and I deeply enjoyed it. Looking forward to further collaboration with John. Check out the Prequel conversation on Ep.9~ John Vervaeke lectures in Cognitive Science & Psychology at the University of Toronto. He is at the leading responding to our collective circumstance with his expansive ‘Awakening from the Meaning Crisis’ lecture series and work re-imagining the ancient art of Dialogos. John’s work is cutting edge, deeply collaborative and at its highest aspiration promises to respond to our age with a new synthesis of science, wisdom traditions, religious understandings and embodied contemplative practices. -John's Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/johnverv...  Jacob Kishere is a Conversational Artist on a walk through the emergent landscape. Ep.14 Joseph Pickens—Christianity, The Idolatry of Narrative & Becoming Through the Death of God

A conversational journey between friends that weaves between exploration of what's present and challenging questions borne out of Christianity, the death of God and our narratives.   We explore Joseph's intellectual and spiritual path out of Christianity and map it onto the broader movement we both witnessed from reliance of expert authorities (in the IDW) to collective sensemaking and community. Breaking the 4th wall of the podcast we talk about how external pressures affect the intimacy of conversation and the real ecstasy that arrives from letting go. Drawing on our Christian backgrounds and engagement with the work of John Vervaeke, Joseph shares insights into how we tend to repeatedly make idols of our narratives, sense of self and even God. Drawing on Terrence Mckenna, Nietzsche & my work on the metapractitioner we explore a way of being that goes beyond narrative in a dialectic dance with direct experience. Joseph maps the similarities in the death of God and the psychedelic experience—reconceiving of heaven and hell. We end with reflection  what it means to become a parent to your home when the culture is going through a messy marital divorce.   ~This was a dialogue like no other with a deeply integrative and intimate flavour. Ep.13 Minna Salami-Sensous Knowledge & Bridging tensions between Feminism & the Feminine

Minna Salami aka @msafropolitan is the author of Sensous Knowledge: A Black Feminist Approach for Everyone. In this broad and artful book Minna gives expression to a more expansive approach to knowledge, explores Beauty and re-conceives of Power as ‘Exousiance’. Through insights from the natural world and the embodied, expressive and poetic dimensions she articulates a power through us rather than over others.   In this conversation we explore why I was drawn to her personal and dialectical approach to the tensions between feminism and the feminine. We consider concerns about a feminism that is grounded in materialism, fragmentation or psychological reaction and Minna articulates what kind of ‘conscious’ or wise feminism is needed to ‘foster a higher dimension of coexistence’. I deeply enjoyed the way that Minna imbues her writing with the richness of her own life and we end by exploring the deep significance for her thought of the patterns that occur throughout nature.

Ep.12 Guy Sengstock-Lifting the Veil: Deep World Listening & Breaking Free of Traumatic Perception

I catch up with Philosopher-Sage Guy Sengstock for a broad enquiry into what it means to listen deeply to world. We discuss Carl Jung’s unconscious and psychedelic reality. Building on this we consider the very different ways in which texts reveal themselves and what it means for our reading to be guided by intuition. We enter the mystifying territory of what it means to listen deeply to world and logos, what is the 'veil' and what calls forth the salience that guides and shapes our lives.   In the second half we explore the mechanisms by which trauma shapes our perception and calls forth re-enactment of patterns in our lives. Introducing ideas from my enquiry into the ‘landscape of trauma’ we talk about what trauma reveals about the fundamentals of temporality and how loving relationships can break us free of traumatic cycles.   Guy Sengstock is a founder of an authentic relational practice called Circling which is practiced worldwide and perhaps best described as a "yoga of deep transformational conversations". Guy has facilitated circling for decades and instructs through the circling institute. He has also been been central in the the emergence of a new school of philosophy & Dialogos-with thinkers like Jordan Hall, Christopher Mastropietro and John Vervaeke.   Guy's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuho...   Sensing into The Moment Together.   SenseSpace is Hosted by Jacob Kishere, a meta-practitioner devoted to the transformational potential of conversation.
