The PurposeGirl Podcast Episode 098: Rewriting Our Money Stories
There are taboos around discussing certain topics, most notably sex, politics, and money. But why do we have such a taboo around money? This is based in our own money stories. Our money story is the ingrained story that you tell yourself about money, what it is, what it isn't, what's wrong with it, what your capability is to earn it, and what people who have it are or are not. We all have stories about money, and these stories influence our ability to earn more of it. In today's episode I talk about The difference between having a money story steeped in lack and fear, and a money story steeped in abundance My own money stories and how they developed The ways in which we attract things into our lives, looked at from an energy perspective as well as a neuroscience perspective How we can shift our unhealthy and counterproductive money stories into much healthier, more productive ones I recommend a classic book about money, The Science of Getting Rich (https://amzn.to/2tvEZpG), which you can get at Amazon. To be clear, I am NOT saying that more money will make us happier. In fact, research very clearly shows that, beyond covering our basic needs, more money doesn't necessarily make us happier. What I am saying, though, is that we should not be denying ourselves what we very well may be able to have if we get out of our own way and look at our relationship with money in a new way. It would really mean a lot to me if you would go to Apple Podcasts and leave me a review (hopefully a great one!), leave a 5 star rating, subscribe to this podcast so you never miss an episode, and download the episodes! In this episode, and in her books, Marie: points out that women have been making critical contributions to all aspects of our society – science, philanthropy, politics, business, etc. – even if many people don't know about it. argues that if these historical figures can do the amazing things that they did under such challenging conditions, with such odds stacked against them, then we, today, can do great things as well. hopes to inspire readers to fight against the marginalization that occurred in the past, and continues today. describes her purpose as showing how other women have a purpose, and she addresses the life purpose of the women in her books. The PurposeGirl Podcast Episode 096: Shifting Your Fear Into Courage
How many times in your life have you stopped yourself from trying out something new, or didn't allow yourself to chase your dreams because of your biggest enemy that kept holding you back - fear. How do we master fear? How do we shift our fear into courage? How can we befriend our fear? We must take action. Action is our antidote to fear. Without fear there is no courage. And the only thing stopping you from achieving your dreams is, indeed, fear! In this episode, I talk about 4 clients and their stories as an example of how to overcome your fear and how to face it. I share with you some of the exercises that I took these women through and show how we were able to shift them from fear to courage and to take action towards their dreams. J: A soon to be lawyer fights her fears with her uniqueness and purpose. K: After 20 years of working in one industry, K fights her fears of moving forward and leaving her industry behind to pursue a bigger purpose. P: Fights her fears over money and fear she will lose profit and purpose with it. A: Faces fear after she discovers her purpose. I talk about the similarities in our body between fear and excitement and help you shift from a fear response to feeling excited. Those who have dreams and successfully pursue them did so by going for them in the face of their fear. At the time of the release of this episode I've just announced the PurposeGirl Dream Accelerator, a high-level program for women to launch their Purpose-Based Business, speak their message, make an impact in others' lives, and have financial abundance and deep soulful fulfillment. I invite you to come to purposegirl.com/dream to learn more about it and to apply, or email me [carin@carinrockind.com] to chat about it! The PurposeGirl Podcast Episode 093: What Do You Desire in the New Year?
We're at a special time right now with the start of not only a new year but a new decade, and many people are talking about setting goals. Goals are important and they have their place, coming from the masculine and from the head. In contrast, desires come from the heart, from the feminine. In today's episode I'm comparing and contrasting goals and desires and how they're related, and the importance of identifying our own desires on our way to truly being a goddess on purpose. Looking back at 2019, here are some major takeaways that I learned about desires: Trust your heart-knowing. Believe in yourself. It may make no sense, but it's always right. Never give up. Get support from experts. Lean into your sisterhood. I talk about listening to your desires in envisioning the next year, the next decade of your life. Also, I make a HUGE personal announcement that you won't want to miss! It would really mean a lot to me if you would go to Apple Podcasts and leave me a review (hopefully a great one!), leave a 5 star rating, subscribe to this podcast so you never miss an episode, and download the episodes! The PurposeGirl Podcast Episode 092: Client Spotlight – Your Energy and Manifesting with Emily McNaughton
This is part of an ongoing series of episodes in which I'm interviewing clients of mine who have uncovered their purpose and gone after their dreams. These women are truly inspirational and serve as fabulous examples of what we can do when we decide to go after our purpose, and that we're willing to do what it takes to take control of our own lives and be the empowered women we were born to be. We are all energetic beings, but so many of us are not aware of this and are certainly not in touch with our own energies and how we can tap into them to improve our lives. My guest today, Emily McNaughton, had a successful career in the high tech world, but when she eventually burned out she turned to understanding her own energy field and learned tools to manage her own stress and anxiety, and now she is truly thriving as an entrepreneur on purpose. She's also the founder of Wear Gratitude, an eco conscious underwear line for women, allowing us to easily set intentions for our day and bring in high vibrational energies to support us throughout the day! In this episode, Emily and I talk about What is energy? How do our physical body, our energy, and our soul interact? Recognizing that there is divine light and energy in each of us, and that it's safe to come to it and embrace it. The parallels between our energy impacting those around us (and vice-versa), and the scientific fact that our emotions are contagious and affect others. Manifesting (or as I call it, Womanifesting) and energetic expansion Emily's new line of eco-conscious women's underwear, Wear Gratitude, which will pre-launch at the start of February 2020 How my coaching helped her to accomplish her dreams Emily recommends the book, Warrior of the Light, by Paulo Coelho, which you can find at Amazon (https://amzn.to/2redH6e). You can learn more about Emily at her website (www.emilymarie.com), on Instagram (www.instagram.com/yourenergyfirst), and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/yourenergyfirst), and about Wear Gratitude at its website (www.iweargratitude.com), Instagram (www.instagram.com/weargratitude), and Facebook (www.facebook.com/weargratitude). The PurposeGirl Podcast Episode 090: Understanding and Managing Anxiety
A staggering number of people suffer from anxiety. For some it flares up at more stressful times in their lives, and for others it's a constant presence, a constant struggle. I've talked many times about my own challenges with anxiety over the years, as well as panic attacks that I've suffered, most recently the almost daily attacks that I dealt with for months after my second miscarriage. In today's episode we're going to look at how we can handle anxiety in a healthy way and move through it to live a happy and flourishing life. This all starts with a solid understanding of anxiety, and I am so honored and excited to have with us a dear friend and a true expert in anxiety, Dr. Todd Pressman. Those of you who have been listening to this podcast for a while might realize that all my guests to this point have been women, so I thought it would be good to explain why I'm breaking with that: Anxiety is such an important topic, I myself have dealt with it for years, it's the number one issue in mental health, and I wanted to bring on the best possible expert for it. In this episode, Todd discusses: How fear (Todd uses fear and anxiety interchangeably) is underneath all sources of suffering The importance of getting our mind around the one core fear underlying all our own suffering and how that can give us true power The five deceptions of fear How we can uncover our one core fear, using his process, Digging for Gold -- and Todd takes me through this exercise! His exercise, Flowchart for Your Life Journey Our chief defense that we've used throughout our lives to protect against our core fear The five categories of fear and their connection to our pursuit of fulfillment Exercises to help us work with our core fears and pursue our path on a daily basis (including The Alchemist, The Witness, and The Warrior's Stance) To receive Todd's free e-book, "Quotes and Stories That Can Change Your Life!" please go to his website, https://www.toddpressman.com.
